Thanks for actually doing a petrol only consumption test for 100km zero battery assistance. Nobody else (especially the manufacturer) discloses the true number. PHEV's remain a huge compromise on our journey to BEVs.
It's a stunning looking vehicle...especially when viewed from the Land Rover dealership waiting room as you watch it (again), in for warranty issues...
Petrol version: Cheap to buy but expensive to run; Electric version (I know this particular car doesn't have one): Expensive to buy but cheap to run; PHEV version: Expensive to buy, but maybe cheap to run only when its battery is not drought. When it comes to the maintenance cost, the BEV is a big win. Therefore, I always say that the PHEV is the one you pay extra for the so-called flexibility. If you can tolerate Toyota, go Toyota. If not, buy a mild hybrid or a BEV.
I know someone who bought Land Rover Discovery brand new, in less than 5 years the engine got totally busted , he's lucky the engine was replaced for free...dont touch this brand
These brands better lower their prices, I believe over the next few years there could be over 40 Chinese brands in Australia, the Chinese government have huge rebates in china for exports 🤔
Firstly great job on doing the scientific gruntwork for this review, thats alot of driving. On the car itself, yeah its overpriced decent fuel economy aside, but honestly the people that buy this wont see the price as a deterrent, that kind of concern isnt in thier tax bracket. However what would possibly be a deterrent to somone not blindingly with the brand is that these things are unrelaible. I had a former collegue with an Evoque and it embarrased her in numerous shopping malls and her workplace as well when the thing wouldnt start because of some electrical problem or another. she eventually got rid of it. One last thing,I do admire that this PHEV does what other electrified and electric vehicles dont do,give you a spare wheel,it just looks laughlybly simple ,but I know the myriad of reasons why it isnt ,but despite that Range Rover made it work, good on them, its still not worth six figures for that privlege though(honestly feel this thing is priced so high as to cover depreceation).
Thanks mate. Yeah, I understand if you don’t care much about pricing, then it will be a good buy. But the horror stories about reliability are a deterrent for sure.
There are people still buying these thinking that they are above some people. Thats why "LUXURY" brands exist knowing that they can suck the money from those snobs out there! Their cars just need a good looking shape and people will buy them!
These European car manufacturers are gonna be wiped from existence by the Chinese cars if they don't start lowering their price.. makes no sense to consider these anymore when the Chinese cars are putting all the same tech and safety features in.
Nope. Those who buy prestige brands are not buying Chinese brands. This will be the fall of the Japanese brands as they have their marketshare slowly eaten up by chinese brands. Some of my relatives who would only buy Toyota are now buying MG
Wow, 100k for a car that will potentially give you heaps of headaches. Good thing panadol is still cheap to buy 😅
A hell of a lot of money for a vehicle that will be spending a lot of time with warranty problems. If past models are representative.
Have you own one or just someone saying?
@raghavshankara5601
A relative had one got rid of it before the warranty expired.
Certainly nice and comfortable for the owner while waiting for the tow truck.
😅😅😅😅
Oh Toyota fan boy spotted 😂😂
You could almost buy 2x BYD Sealion 6's for the same price.
Insane price for a midsize SUV.
Trust me. Do not choose Landrover. Especially in Australia.

I just cant take seriously any manufacturer that puts low profile tyres on a 4x4, They are just a show pony and really not meant to be taken off road.

how long will it take untill the engine warning light appears
You’ll probably need to put aside another 100 k for repairs after the warranty runs out lol 😂
Totally agree mate!
Possibly … just sell it before warranty is done? 💁♂️
That ipad thing stuck on the dash like that looks junk.

The X1 and Q3 have nothing on the evoque. And the cupra is just a joke 😂

Logic for Range Rover: we charge more for worse quality and reliability.
Looks like they just stuck an ipad on the dash with some double sided tape.
Probably exactly what they've done.
Is this reliable car?

Like a Porsche screams “wanker”, Range Rover screams “sucker”. Looks cheaply made too.
What's the point of a power steering wheel control if you have to leave one finger on the switch when you need both hands on the wheel for position.🤨🙄

I always laugh when I see a bloke driving these.
Yes a real woman's car.😊

Range rovahhh defendaaahh
Naaaah this is an Evooooque

They said the same things about Japanese cars in the 60's & 70's.
It's already starting to happen
Yep and it’s not like reliability is an argument. It is the beginning of the end for the euro car makers

Only reason Chinese car brands are able to compete is billions in subsidies China is giving them..
Save 50k and buy a BYD Sealion - better car better value.
Too bad that brand name is so unreliable. Their accountability goes missing when thing's are wrong with their vehicle's 😊
Crazy price for low quality, hell no!
Things falling off during test drive. Yikes
