The SCX10 II is still beloved by many builders for its simplicity and massive aftermarket. It was developed when Axial was under Hobbico and during the transition to Horizon Hobby, every supplier under Hobbico went away. HH went to the effort to keep the original Hobbico design going on just for the fans. No one really appreciates that because all they see is "the same old truck". In reality it was harder to keep the "same old truck" in production than to simply put a Deadbolt-ish body on an SCX10 III
And for what it's worth, the Deadbolt SCX10 platform is one of the best RTR crawlers out there, and it's still an amazing low-cost crawler for newbies and experts.
They kept it going because it was making money and I don't really get what you're saying about putting the body on an scx 10.3 it wasn't even invented when Horizon took over axial

Wow this is way different than the previous version LOL, you don't get a round of applause for not discontinuing a model. Everybody be on the lookout for the axial hype train it will no doubt be coming to all the major RC channels soon
They're keeping the SCX10 II platform around with this decision but updated the factory it's being produced in. Some people want the straight axle or lower price point. Not every product needs to be a groundbreaking design. Some are good the way they are and still valid in todays market.

@@SteadfastRC I don't see any hype train here. They teased it with one picture the day before they announced it. No huge promotions, no sending it out to youtubers to show off. They just made a cute video and made one post on instagram/facebook. The hobby needs less negativity and useless criticism.

Agreed. I barely thought the basecamp was worth it, I’d rather then bring out another 6x6 or even a different licensed body beside jeep :/
Instead of releasing the Basecamp builders kit, they re-release an old model… why?

This would be good around the $220 price range at most.
Bring back the 6x6 , or atleast bring back the 6x6 specific parts so that we can keep them alive.
Re sortir le scx10.2 Deadbolt , pourquoi pas . J aime bien cette machine simple , fiable et éprouvée avec beaucoup de pièces dispo . Par contre toujours seulement RTR , donc je n'achèterai pas .
Sortez le en KIT si vous voulez vraiment faire plaisir aux fans ! Packe là ça fait plutôt on essaye de remplir un peu la caisse suite à l'échec du scx10.3 ( pas au point comme beaucoup de nouveaux modèles usines à gaz toujours + compliqués et toujours + CHERS ) . En attendant , j ai un TRX4 Sport kit à monter ... bien meilleur rapport qualité prix à moins de 300€ , quasi aucune option nécessaire , pneus d 'origine excellents , et autant mettre son électronique de qualité dès le début , packe le faux bon plan des RTR avec radio cheap , servo anémique qui lache vite et électronique manquant de réglages et de progressivité.... on connait . ;)

Well Damn!!!! I was hoping for a Scx6 deadbolt!!!! At least the beige body looks pretty cool!!!! Will that tranny swap into the green 10.2 deadbolt I bought in February???
Standard 3 gear, so, yup.
And most of the rigs that came with the kit trans also included the skid needed to mount the three gear in the parts bag.

Axial must hate it’s customers. Can’t even come up with anything new. If they keep this up , I unfortunately see the business going under. They are failing to innovate, be creative and worst of all they won’t listen to there damn customers. And that’s going to be there downfall
*their… I’m not excited about this rerelease either, but to say that they aren’t being innovative is missing the mark. I think the Base Camp with new trans and the SCX6 are both very good releases. Honest question, what is it that you’ve been asking for that you’d like them to release?
@@imthejaybird um how about the epic 6x6 unimog or a 1/10 hardbody or something actually new not a parts bin special. Not something that’s already been beat to death with a stick. Or better yet, a complete rc crawler! You know, with inner fenders, 2 speed trans, portals, lights, interior, and metal beadlock wheels, and release it for $500 or less. Hence traxxas wins. Innovation is much more than a transmission we didn’t need or a Half assed Toyota Tacoma body. At least element rc did a decent job on the Tacoma body with the knight runner. Axial is letting it’s customers down big time.
