Lyrics:
want arms that know how to rock me
Safe in the arms of love
I want to fall and know that love has caught me
Safe in the arms of love
Safe in the arms of love

This woman can really sing and she's beautiful!
This was country music in its prime. How lucky was I to grow up in the 90’s. A masterpiece by the lovely and talented Martina Mcbride
i couldnt agree more country now days is not country
I miss the days when county music wasn't just about drinking beer on dirt roads. It's almost like the genre has regressed.
My dad stopped listening to country music in the early to mid 2000s because he got sick of the songs that had Christian-themed lyrics.
Boo hoo
Go listen to Rihanna
Merle Haggard...... Nuff said....... ;)
90s country was the best. Now it’s crap.
One of the best female singer EVER!! I miss country music like this.
Country Music is long gone.
I can't believe how blessed I was in the 90's.. I drove around listening to some of the greatest country artists of all time. now its really atrocious, I miss the old days as now we are subject ted to "pop" country
K Spaugh but pop county appeals to demographics. Look up the song Pandering by Bo Burnham.
Same here. Grew up in the 90's, and my grandparents got me into country music. Man, I miss the days of working with my grampa out in the shed, riding on the tractor and combine with him. Listening to some great country music! 98% of today's stuff can't even comare at all. And the stuff that can, "country" radio never plays because it's too country. Lol
i loved late 80s early 90s country... my dad called it pop then though as he grew up in the 50s and 60s with that generation of country...other then people like jason aldean and a few others nowdays he and i both agree its gone to seed now..
Considering this is a cover of a 1986 pop song
Yes!!!! Every word here is so true!
The World is a better place because Martina McBride is in it .
I totally agree
Martina Mcbride is Awesome
Yes indeed my friend. Yes indeed! She does make this world a better place.
Yes
Agreed
Her voice gives me the chills every time, it doesn't matter how many times i listen to her songs, and her eyes...absolutely beautiful
Damn it, this song is too short. I have to play it three times in a row to get my fill.
clearly inspired by Gail and Michelle, but her range helped take it up a notch. Cant imagine countrty music without martina!!
Lyrics :
My heart's not ready for the rocking chair
I need somebody who really cares
So tired of livin' solitaire
Someday I'm gonna be
Safe in the arms of love.
Strip your heart and it starts to show
Love is a high-wire act, I know
Someday I'll find a net below
Someday I'm gonna be
Safe in the arms of love
Safe in the arms of love.
I want arms that know how to rock me
Safe in the arms of love
I want to fall and know that love has caught me
Safe in the arms of love
Safe in the arms of love.
I want a heart to be forever mine
Want eyes to see me satisfied
Gonna hang my heartaches out to dry
Some day I'm gonna be
Safe in the arms of love
Safe in the arms of love.
👍💓
I’m 40...this song brings me back and gives me some serious nostalgia.
Life was so simple, the things we took for granted back then are things (people) we are desperately holding onto now.
Life comes at you fast.
I'm 43, I don't think we took anything for granted. We were simply young and carefree - didn't know enough to understand how precious the good times we had around us back then. Don't beat yourself too hard. But definitely be thankful for what you did have, all those fun memories....I know I'm thankful for all the fun carefree opportunities I was fortunate enough to take part in. And I'm petty sure we didn't live and grew up in a perfect world back then either.
Twenty years on, still the best song and video Martina has ever done.
True enough.
When I first heard this song come on the radio I had to pull over to the side of the road and weep.
My goodness!!! What a beautiful and down-to-earth female country artist of all time.
This is such an amazing song, after all we all want that.
Crystal Lynch we all WANT ???? Why would you put it like that?? Did you ever think that some of us already HAVE that???? Like myself for example
Such a powerful voice from such a little lady. Thumbs up if you've had the pleasure of seeing her perform live!
I love how being a guy I can actually relate to the message of the song! Ahhh the golden days of music how I miss them
Her music is timeless. What an amazing a crystal clear and pure voice she has. I have seen two of my other favorite singer/musicians - Alison Krauss & Mary Chapin Carpenter - live in concert. Cannot wait to see this amazing talent perform in person.
You should see Sara Evans! Also I'm a HUGE Alison fan! Good choice!
This was country music was great
Boy, I tell ya. If anyone deserves a beautiful bouquet of flowers (like the ones that Martina received at the end of this video), it would be this sweet, beautiful, and talented lady. She is a treasure for sure.
Martina, You probably won't read this so I guess it is for my own good. I was a big fan when you were singing all these songs for the first times. They mean so much more to me now. You are the total package Lady.
I got to sit a few feet away from her when she did this live in our radio studio back in the late 90s. Imagine this without all the production, the video, and just an acoustic guitar for accompaniment. It was amazing. The woman could peel paint from the ceiling with her voice.
This is the one that brought the tears.
When you have had no love all your long life, when you come to near the end, you know there is only one place you will find that love safety - = in the arms of Jesus.
I'm a 31 year old virgin and I've never had a girlfriend or even kissed a girl don't know if I'll cross paths with a girl who'll find me desirable and want me there were one or two girls that I liked but they didn't feel deeply towards me we were just friends I'm mildly autistic and I came out to them making my thoughts known and they were understanding
Personally though I would say I'm kinda indifferent either way if I do then okay if I don't okay also plus I don't know if I'm cut out really when it comes to possibly having children and being a father
Martina hit #4 in Billboard, 11-18-95. God bless!
I was in the 8th grade when this song was released.
If Martina had entered the Miss America contest back in the mid to late 1980s, she would have swept the swimsuit, talent, and interview portions and been crowned Miss America. What a Miss America she would have been!
Now this was when country was great!!!..my favorite Martina!!! I miss the late 80's and 90's of country music...
Martina and her beautiful voice
OH YEA
I haven't seen this in over 25 years.
Martina has the most beautiful voce! This video is cute......love her:)
Great song!!! She sings it better than the original singer...which i dont usually care for. But hey, its Martina.
This reminds me of high school. Doing my homework in my room with the door shut enjoying my music. I was in my own little world
Such a great song from the 1990s
Ok this a stupid thing to compare. But Martina is like the Pat Benatar of 90's country.
Check out CMT! Crossover with those two
I don't know if there is a perfect woman out there, but Martina is pretty damn close!
This will always be my favorite song/video of hers.
It’s hard to believe it’s been 24 years since this song came out
I love Martina McBride! A beautiful and for me, a hopeful song. I remember once upon a time, thinking I would feel safe in the arms of love.
Thank you, Dana... You are of course, absolutely right... I suppose I am simply feeling lonely. Take care and thanks again for your thoughts (smiles!)
***** I think of myself as being Safe in The Arms of a Loving God. I play this when I want to feel safe...when I feel alone. It helps me a lot !!!!
Melinda Liefde Thank you for being thoughtful, Melinda. That is a beautiful way to think of it... It is such a beautiful song!
Hi
A time when America was Great, great country music.
Martina McBride's safe in the arms of love reached at number 4 on the U.S. country charts in 1995
@MarcosBryant-gk1jvbeing married since 1988. Strong women!
Martina is such a darling person. I don't see how anyone's heart could fail to be captivated by her. I absolutely adore her. Oh, and she can sing, too.
One if my favorite songs and singers. I miss the 90s! Oh the nostalgia....and Martina McBride will always be the queen❤
Love this song... Still sing this.. Think Martina is probably the best female singer...
Our angel stays in the loving arms of glory
I Love This Song
The 90's country female artists I adored. Something is missing now.
My friend Jeremy brought me here because he would always have this video playing on CZcams when I would come hang out at his house. Ever since he moved, this is a way for me to remember hanging out with him
I remember when this came out, back when I believed in love. She has the voice of an angel. Amazing how jaded you get as you are older. I miss my naive, happy days when I thought love was real.
At least I know love is real with my kiddos, but I no longer think there is such a thing as a "soul mate".
+Kris Douglas love is something you do. it is an action, not a thing.
+Kris Douglas To be in love is one thing. To be in the arms of love is better. But to be SAFE in the arms of love is a truly rare thing.
Kris Douglas I feel the same way, my soulmate must be with Jesus n awaiting me. This is a beautiful song always loved it:-)..
+Kris Douglas- A soulmate implies that there is only one perfect match for any of us. What a complete load of B.S.! We are compatible with any number of people but couples don't stay together long enough to rub the rough edges off of each other to improve their fit together. After 33 years of marriage, none of which was bliss but a lot of work and dedication, there is now only one perfect match for me. I sincerely hope you find a good traveling companion in life. Take Care.
The problem is not that love has ceased to (or never did) exist. The problem is that those who claim to want it don't look any deeper than the surface level (not skin) of who a person is. They don't take the time to find out if they *really* found what (and who) they're looking for, because it's too much work. It took me 7 years of bad bullshit "relationships" to learn that lesson.
How did the last 23 years go by so fast?
including the harmonies in the second half of the first verse, anyone? :)
To feel safe and sound, beside someone, to love
I played guitar in the late 1990s for Rhonda Gunn, the artist who originally recorded this for Warner Bros. in 1991. I think the original is on youtube now. It was great song for both artists.
She has the prettiest blue eyes
Amazing song and production
A little state pride here. Martina Schiff was born in my birth state of Kansas. Can't beat those Midwesterners!
She,s got a voice of gold🏆
Till this day i'm thankful to this one girl who introduced me to this amazing singer Martina McBride and this song here. You can tell Composer Richard Jacques took inspiration from this song here for his Soundtrack of the Dreamcast game "Metropolis Street Racer" as it sounds a lot like the song "I still believe".
Martina, you are have a blessing voice!
Hello friend
Martina, what a great song! and what a great voice! I know it's several years old, but I love it more every time I hear it, and the back singers are like WOW!!!!!!
+judy beeson The "back singers" are Martina.
Hello Judy
This is one of my all time favorites
Sweet song . Beautiful Martina.
I had the amazing opportunity to see her in concert when I was a teenager, she was pregnant at the time, but her voice was pure perfection.
This song reminds me of Annie Lennox's "No More I Love You's" in a way! I love both songs! Thank you, Martina and all who were involved in writing this song, setting up the video, and releasing it to the world!
Martina is top three female country vocalist of all time
I remember Martina singing at the Phoenix Center in Pontiac Michigan. I couldn't see her, but was blown away by her voice. Probably around 91 or 92 at the Art, Beats, and Meat Festival.
What a powerful voice and gorgeous lady.
Such a great song :-)
A pure soul ❤
Beautiful face and voice. Love this woman.
her best single in my opinon
Martina McBride Fan 4ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Period. and Amen!
My favorite Martina McBride song.
Dave Phillips not even close to possible to have a favorite from talent like this
Dave Phillips Mine, too. I've seen her 3 times in concert and she's never sung it 😫
Hard to believe the song came out 24 years ago
A beautiful woman with a beautiful voice.
Going through this right now. My heart isn't ready for the rocking chair, so full of love to give, but my heart is weary of the rollercoaster and the battlefield of meet someone, get thrown in the trash, get over them again. There's this one guy and he's my last chance but everything is going wrong. I'm far away from my family I love so much, and I'm thousands of miles from my home country but I'm just going through heartbreak winning this guy! This song speaks for my heart.
Hello Sara
Martina, I heard the word snow and we have snow in Buffalo right now . Please help us. Thanks Martina. You're the best.
Hello Jennifer
Yup, I agree, music from days gone by, is much better than todays. Just sayin!!!
RIP Pat Bunch...a writer on this hit & a TON of others! 🙏
One my favorite songs from her......
"And He said, Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you." (Genesis 22:2)
Recovery Version
Not just CM but all genres. Top 5 vocalist all-time.

@@lh6740 Hello Lucinda
I LOVE this so much!!!
❤️❤️ what a song
Martina was the best live performer I’ve ever seen. I love her but most people have no idea this is a cover of a song by a Canadian artist… Michelle Wright.
While Choir's version is the original and the best! 1986!
czcams.com/video/m4oEgLbg5I4/video.html

hmmm... I loved this song when I was young and bartending- I guess that's good, people of all generations love it
Sounds good whether sung by Martina Mcbride or Baillie and the Boys.
There is also Michelle Wright's version
Was on your XM Y2 Country station and loved watching the video. Looked like it was fun to do.
Her BEST song, in my opinion!
Gina Basham literally ANYTHING and EVERYTHING out of her mouth is her best song
Michelle wright is the original artist
I love this song!
