Lyrics:
This one's for the girls
Who've ever had a broken heart
Who've wished upon a shooting star
You're beautiful the way you are
This one's for the girls
Who love without holding back
Who dream with everything they have
All around the world
This one's for the girls
#ThisOnesForTheGirls #MartinaMcBride #Country - Hudba
I'm a black boy from the city and I absolutely grew up with Martina, Faith Hill, Brooks & Dunn, the Dixie Chicks and more. Music is one of the remaining things that brings us all together. We need it more now than ever
Respect to you brother
Good music is good music no matter the race. I listen to everything from alternative to gangsta rap. I grew up in the 90s where we had ridiculously diverse music so I don't have a favorite genre I just like what's good.
@@dontdiscriminatehateeveryo9263 I don't think anyone listens music based on cultural distinctions. But I do think the way it's sold to the public, particularly through radio stations, is designed to divide us
So true bro so true
Bless you!
I turned 27 today, and this song is so relatable. Your teens are hard, but no one warned me about 20s.
The feeling when adulthood starts setting in.
How hard it is to let go of your past.
Feeling like life isn't what you thought it'd be.
I hope you find hope and that you look at your life with kind eyes. Don't be so hard on yourself. Just because I doesn't look the way you thought it would, doesn't mean you failed. Keep going!
Wait till you turn 38 (just did) and realize that 28 was young and you used to wondered where your life was gonna go. My advice to you, take it easy in yourself.
Honey I'm 64 and still trying to figure it out. Work hard, do your best and believe in yourself. Don't let the assholes get you down. Teaching this song to my five-year-old granddaughter
Me and my grandma used to listen to this song together when i was little. Now shes older and has dementia and doesn't remember who i am. But every time i play this song to her she remembers and we just sing and laugh like we used to together...she still remembers every lyric!
Gosh, that just breaks my heart to hear, about your grandma. And that's so wonderful about her being able to remember the song and the lyrics, and in some parts of her, her family and you. Thanks for sharing!
😪😪😪Im so sorry. God bless her heart.
Omg I know what your going through 😭😢
Sierra jae Partain💕awwwww...Well that’s what you focus on is what she does remember of yawls moment with this song and you just keep playing this song with the two of you together every time you can when you see her and play it over again and again and again, I love this… So beautiful well that’s what you focus on is what she does remember of yawls moment with this song and you just keep playing this song with the two of you together every time you can when you see her and play it over again and again and again, I love this… So beautiful absolutely beautiful and I’m sorry about her dementia absolutely beautiful and I’m sorry about her dementia
Darn voice texting dimples over sorry about that
56 year old man here, this song still makes me tear up, even more so now with a 13 year old daughter. Timeless.🥰
I love the part where she says stand your ground when everyone's giving in. It's the best advice I've ever been given.
i dont i hate that part the most
Sometimes standing your ground influences others to do so as well... sometimes.
That's the best advice you've been given? That sucks lol
When she says hold onto your innocence stand your ground when everyone else is giving in… I’ll translate that. She’s saying don’t get used !!!
We feel we have to say yes to sex, we can grow up in a home full of people and feel unloved when you feel you have to say yes to sex or you’re saying no to the possibility of love… Don’t do it do you hear me? Don’t do it! If everyone else is giving in you’ll just be like everyone else but if you’re the girl who does not give in because when it seems like you’re saying no to the possibility of love just because you feel like you got to have sex to get that love it’s never going to give you that love sex is not going to get you love. What will get you love if you stand out as the girl does not give in and have sex like everyone else now is it going to be with that boy/man who’s pressuring you know down deep inside that it is not and you won’t want to listen to that voice because you’re gonna want to love so bad because you didn’t get love at home. Don’t get used because it feels worse than what it feels like when you think you need the love because you didn’t get it growing up at home so then on top of that now you’re getting used for sex. I was pressured into having sex at 13 years old I was so curious and he was so good looking. In fact my older sister would talk about him years before I ever went to high school and I knew who he was when he started flirting with me in school but he was only out to use me for sex and then he never spoke to me again. Yes he took my virginity and never spoke to me again. Don’t get used for sex. You’re beautiful the way you are. And… This one’s for the girls 💕💕💕💕💛💛💛💛💛💕💕
I have a teen daughter into country music (like me) who loves this song (skated a solo to it in our town’s annual ice show) and I admit as a dad I understood exactly what Martina is getting at and I zeroed in on that verse and hoped it would impact her (but I have never said a thing).
This ones for the girls who doubt yourselves you're beautiful the way you are
All this girls have a power of dreams
Whatever it takes matter what the
Dreams do anything for all this girls
I remember this song when I got my first apartment. I used to blast it. Living on dreams and spaghetti o's was the truth. It took me getting my own place to finally understand what mama used to say. 'I pay the cost to be the boss'. LOL! I seriously hated when she said that. Got my own apartment and was surprised that food didn't magically appear in the fridge. I said as a kid that I would only buy name brand stuff...yeah no. Life is a hell of a teacher! 45 now and a nurse. This song got me through a rough time in my twenties
livin on dreams and spaghetti-o's
who love without holding back, who dream with everything they have
you're beautiful the way you are
My dad used to play this for me as a little kid. I play it now and it's really uplifting and emotional for me, especially going through highschool
Stay strong 💪 you can handle everything and you will survive high school 🙏🤍
@@ekstertjj Thanks for the likes on my page and all the support shown as a special fan of mine, i hope you don't stop listening to my music ..
@@martinamcbride6465 not a chance :) i love country music and you're songs are all spot on and beautiful, and so are you 💖 bless you Martina 🙏
my mom died back in 2020 from Heartfailer this song is really uplifting
i like to sit on the porch an spit backer juice listenin to this an remember all the ones that brought me a happy heart especially one from early '91 till we shook hands in '95 ♥️
The lyrics are so down to earth and relatable. Martina's got a real gift for reaching out to the everyday person and recognizing all the things we go through.
Love this!!!
Praying for girls and women everywhere being oppressed or abused
Thank you.
I'm 25 living in a tiny apartment and I literally cried at how accurate the second verse is to me
It's funny how the universe works doesn't it💫🌠👆💞
Honestly this song makes me cry too, but in a good way
Me toooo!!! 25 little apartment eating spaghetti os 😂
Oh, sweetie! It’ll all work out. It might not work out the way you want it to or how you have it mapped out, but it’ll work out for your benefit. I don’t know if you’re a Christian or not, but I would love to pray for you. :) Good luck! And enjoy these moments because soon you’ll wake up 9 years older and wonder where 25 went! 😂😘
Things get better love... Hang in there!! ♥️
I’m 26 and this past year has been the hardest year of my life. I almost gave up back in November 2020. I swore to God I couldn’t do it anymore. I couldn’t take anymore. The hits just kept coming.
My mom sent me this song this morning and I’ve never felt more at peace with what has happened and what’s probably coming.. I guess it’s nice to know that I’m not alone. She wrote this for a reason & it blew up for a reason. This song speaks to the millions of us out here.

You have an awesome mom!
This has always been one of my favorite songs. I understand the meaning of the lyrics now that I'm a adult. Being a girl is something special
This song is a timeless classic! Martina rocks!!
I was 21 years old when this song came out in 2003 and was graduating from college. I can remember singing that song with my mom and sister during that era every time it came on the radio. Listening to it today at age 42 and the lyrics and message have never been more poignant as I begin to feel “old-ish” for the first time in my life and so I’m “tossing pennies into the fountain of youth”. This song is so relatable, so matter what age you are. Love you, Martina! This one’s for the girls. ❤
We are about the same age! I will be 42 soon so I'm tossing my pennies in the fountain of youth!!!! I just played this song for my 14 year old girl she's getting ready to go to High School and is graduating today from middle school and is having a rough time!!! Thanks for sharing your story!!! This one's for the girls!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
@@marinacapri4494 Aww, thanks for sharing your story as well. Best wishes to your daughter as she starts high school. It can be the best of times, but also challenging as we all know. Amazing how music can be so timeless and bring us back to certain moments of our life in an instant. Yes, this one's for the girls!!! ❤🎵
When I first heard this song, I was 14. I heard this song today (I am now 25), and can't wait to hear it again when I'm in my 40's. :) It's a great song!
Beautiful woman wow
I'm 25 now a guy
This song had a much bigger influence on me than I realized. I was about 13 when it came out, and now I'm in my mid-twenties, and I still want those shiny purple pants she's rocking.
Katiedora ikr she makes it work
aint they bAd !???! ..................PSH !! MARTINA ??? girrl !! surely you must have known we wud have wanted those pants !!
I still remember the first time I heard this song I was 8 years old listening to my radio in my room crying from school and life and when I thought I was done with the world was over this song came on later when CZcams came around I'll listen to it when I was down. Truly saved my life
That's awesome
Your hot
Not you brooky boy, i ain't gay. Usually market songs have less then 1 mil views... I'm surprised.
Real women build one another up. Don’t kick another when they’re down. Be the hand of Jesus that reaches out to help. ❤ Without us, there’s no children.
Love this lady and this song! Martina always inspired me when I was a teen and now that I'm 23 I still look up to her! It's songs like this that remind us to cherish what we have at each stage in our lives and always stay true to ourselves.
Yeah
Every girl should hear this song..
Right?! I play it (LOUDLY) often and sing it to my daughter.
I tie them up and force them to hear it. Its effective.
maybe they would stop being so vindictive to each other if they did.
Whether they like it or not.
Agreed... AND all the boys!!
I hope this song stays around. In my early thirties, I was brave enough to go shopping for shoes on. an out of town business trip. This one's for all you thirtysomethings!
man im 72 years just an old man now but this video song is so special it is what we are all about our girls i am so glad I found this song, and I love it
It’s so weird to think when I was young I didn’t understand this song nearly as well as I do now. I am now playing this on repeat, crying because how powerful yet true this song is when I just laughed and danced to it when I was younger.
This was my anthem when i was 13. Gonna be my anthem when i turn 25 too. Thank you for the song Martina!
I’m almost 32, and raising kids, fostering my 13 year marriage, scraping by financially... this song still makes me feel less alone. 💜
First time I heard this i was 13.. now I'm closer to 25.. crazy how I listen to this song at such a different time in my life and it still give me goosebumps!
"Living on dreams and spaghettios." Best lyrics ever!
You can feel the love in this song... certain songs have more love in them then others. This here is a good one... I bet there are even men who enjoy it..
I don’t care if it came out before. I still feel like this song it an absolute Walmart version of “girls are the best” by Tanye McCabe.
the first time you listen to this and realize your closer to 25 than 13...
Kami Willis Try being close to 30
try being a guy
I am 13 and it sucks frist period and stuff and have nothing but stubs around the house and school
I'm 26 and so true
How about first time you hear this song and realize your closer to 42 than 25 😩
For the girls all around the world, You're beautiful just the way you are ❤
Thank you, but I don't think so, you should see my face, all the mirrors break..
Natasha E you now beauty grows out of self-love and aception

+Natasha E once I was walking through my house and I looked sideways and a mirror was there and I screamed at my reflection.
I first listened to this song when I was about 25 living in a little apartment....now I'm 42!
I remember my grandma dedicated this song to me the night before I started my freshmen year…. Miss you so much grandma 🤍🕊️ my angel forever.
People will break your heart and dreams. They will put you down try to control you and ruin your life. It's up to you to fight back. And don't ever let nobody tell you your not good enough. Fight back for you prove them wrong. Don't let nobody ever tell you that there better than you cause there not.
The first Martina mcbride song I found that doesn't make me cry.
Happy girls a really good one, and she's a butterfly, unless you're soppy like me and connect too much.
zoe louise Thanks! I'll check that one out!
even this one makes me cry Lol im a sap
meeeee
this one always makes me laugh.
I don't know way but every time I hear this song I cry
I feel sad when it gets to "Every laugh line on your face", and "Tossing pennies into the fountain of youth". I'm not sure exactly why, I guess it just makes me feel bad for them, wanting to be somebody else, different.
Same !!!!!
Me too!
Me too
I think it just makes you think of all the mistakes you've made in life and how far you've come in life
she sings like an angel!😇
My birthday is today and I just turned 13.... This song is the first thing that came on when I went in to Pandora to listen to music.. This is the best advice... Every girl needs to listen to this! ❤️❤️❤️ Your all beautiful the way you are... ❤️😘❤️😘
I remember listening to this song when i was 12, thinking about the future of being 13, 25, and 42 and now im 30. Time just flew by but this song thus far has been so accurate
I wish that I had heard that advice when I was 13 - how different my life would be now at 16. I remember hearing this song in the car with my mom, who is 42, a lot when I was little, I just never quite understood the lyrics. I just wish I could go back in time and hear that simple, yet strong bit of lyrics; "Hold onto, onto your innocence."
+Brandy Ervin well said!😉💛
Why did you have sex?
@@teaandcoffeeM The question really is perhaps, "why are you, Michael T, so nonchalant at being a cad?"
I imagine there are many who consciously and more often, sub-consciously, are in pursuit of innocence recovered. This is one of those things which may separate you from another who cares little or nothing for the precious beauty of innocence. The path is simple, really... ask God to reveal your actual sins to you and that you see them as he does so that you may live out your moments and days and enter the next life having truly repented of them.
why does it matter if you have your "innocence" unless you got pregnant the only repercussions as a female is a dampened ability to pair bond, which is a strong negative, but one sexual encounter isnt the end of the world. the second repercussion is if you got pregnant which is an obvious financial money sink. Stop focusing on little details that aren't too significant and learn how to research for the things you desire. Want to be rich? research what job pays alot, and how to get there while also researching how to manage your finances, its simple emergency fund cut out needless spending pay off debt invest, invest in a 401k save at least a 20% down payment on a house 15 year fixed mortgage (preferably 100% down payment, achievable in 6 years if you reallly want it enough) life isnt too difficult to be successful in you just have to put in an effort for the things you want and stop obsessing over pointless time wasting activities.
Who’s with me in 2020 listening to true country.... Love Martina...
How readily can this stand? when next considered, there won't be any answers
This cat is RoCkiN with Martina in 2021 baby!!
What a lovely song about sisterhood. Stay true to yourselves girls! We’ve all been or will be where you are-you are not alone!!
This song is the first song that I’ve listened to during the Covid-19 virus in 2023, ( I am a big fan of Martina McBride and love her music!, now I have the greatest privilege of being her friend, I can’t wait 😛 to see what our new friendship leads to 😹😹), but I know without a doubt that she is beautiful 🤩
this song came out when I was 11 I always thought the begging was the best, now I'm 23 and the second part is my life....crazy how fast you can grow up.
I'm 30. I totally get what you mean. It's a wild ride!!!
It's from 2009.....
Isabella Vargas, it came out in 2003. It was uploaded to CZcams in 2009. Look at what they're wearing, it's got early 00s written all over it...
So amazed by how many women in the comments, like me, listened to this gem for the first time when they were 13, and felt that the first verse spoke directly to them, literally and figuratively. I love that the verse can be interpreted multiple ways. It could be about virginity, but it could also be about not just following trends and being true to yourself.
I listened to this song when I was a young child, now that I'm a lot older I understand it and makes me a little sad but happy at the same time.
tommy curzio
It's songs like these that should have 1 billion views. Not Justin Bieber's 'Baby'
This one's for the girls... and all the boys as well!! Still listening to this song all these years later, at least a couple of times a month, sometimes more. CLASSIC!!
*I was singing this through my mask at CVS yesterday 😄...LOVE THIS SONG...📢AND TO MY LADIES: IF YOUR'E READING THIS, KNOW YOU'RE SPECIAL, BEAUTIFUL, KNOW YOUR WORTH AND THAT YOU ROCK!!!!!*
shes so strong with her words love her music
ok
I found this when I was 14 and cried when it talked about being 13.. lol. I imagined myself being 25 thinking I'd have it all figured out... but here I am almost 23. Still don't know. Still crying. I love how girl positive this is. I love this song. This is for the girls!!!
I'm 48 in a Tiny apartment lol! It's okay though it's perfect size for just me 🤍
@@stephenieblackmontaeniemon6569 Hello!!! How are you doing today! Please pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I just wanted to know if you're a fan!.. Stay safe!
I think I was around 11 when this song came out. Even 13 seemed far away then and I couldn't imagine myself being a teenager. Now I'm 31, so right in between 25 and 42. It's so crazy how time flies.
Don’t believe the lies. Go home
This song had always been a reminder to me of all of the potential & freedom that all of my sisters, sisters-in-law, nieces & grand nieces. My heart hurts for all of them and every woman in the USA who no longer have their right to choose,
You're advocating for murdering the girls who are about 13 (weeks). Your heart is in the wrong place if your heart hurts for those who were told they couldn't murder their children. My heart hurts for your soul.
God bless her. As a woman who was beaten as a child, thank god someone brings it to attention.
Amazing song and career. All. Class no sass❤
this used to be my favorite song when i was a kid….listened to it every day.
+Corinne Charles same! I'm 13 and my mom would always play this
Never really pay attention to this song until one day silently sit in my office and this song was on so i listening her lyrics and what she have to say. Pretty much every word she sang about my life.. Maybe every girl... And I'm 42😁
Love this song May 2024🇨🇦❤
This cat adores you Martina!!😽💕
This is the song my mom dedicated to me and I dedicated to her when it first came out and every time I think of this song I remember my mom no matter how far away from home I am.
To all the girls struggling through adolescence: This, too, shall pass! You all have the strength and capacity to be anything you want, and nothing that happens, now, will matter. Study hard and tune-out all of the messages telling you who you ought to be, and you will have the would at your fingertips! Just be your beautiful selves!
That's just what I needed to hear thanks
Traci Winfield Me, too... Thank you for that.
I wished i already was an adult so i wouldn't have to go to school
Risung my school years sucked, Elementary was all nun teachers, High School was all boys
My school bus driver used to play this when I was in 8th grade, 13, and hating my new school. It always made me feel a little better 😊.
not a girl, never was, probably will never be, but i fuckin love this song. Any other dudes love this song? no? just me?

Voice of an angel whose eyes pierce through the hardest of hearts and brings joy to the soul.
Me and my mom would listen to this all the time when I was little 🥺 I’m almost 24 now and still do!
@Martina McBride unfortunately have never gotten the chance to attend a concert! :/
Listen to this as a 26 year old “girl” is actually comforting. I honestly fight the thought that I’m too “old” to actually achieve my dreams, and I should know where my life should bring me. It’s nice to hear I’m not alone.
Hello Kiki.. how are you doing?
I'm 26 too trying to figure out my life. Remember, life isn't a competition. We all move at our own pace and will get to where we want to! Keep living life!!
Born in 88. Thought this song was cheesy when it came out, even though I love Martina's voice and other songs, and I think she is wonderful. Now I have daughters and rock this song all the time. It's beautiful. I love growing older
2:55 Thank you. As a trans girl this helps a lot to hear.
I was 11 when I heard this song. I was with my mom in her classroom after the school year was done and she was playing MTV or something on the TV, and this song came on. Even though, at the time, I had no idea what it was to be trans and was being raised as a boy this song struck a chord deep within me and I have always held onto and remembered this song.
I have 3 daughters and This song has ALWAYS spoke to my heart through the years. ❤️Thank you Martina
Right on Martina. When women feel good the world is a better place.
Never heard this song before today and was raised on 90s country and everything else. This song reminds me of my father who passed away 20 yrs ago. He served time then turned his life around. The times in between I know he was a good man that wasn't perfect. He did his best and I'm proud of that man and do my best to pass on the lessons he taught. The power of the mind is a wonderful thing especially in prison
"livin on dreams and spaghettios"

Yep, been there and done that! LOL!
if you weren't so snobby and uptight you would go on tinder and have a man inless th an an hour.
Distasteful
I remember listening to this as a preteen when it first came out.
I didn’t realize it would be such a true statement at 25 I wasn’t ready. Younger me should’ve been more prepared
Martina McBride, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, and Sara Evans will always have the best songs that'll always touch my heart
Girls are amazing! Thanks to Our Creator Jesus Christ for making them! So grateful!!
I come from a long family line of strong, tough, and independent women and I think that this song describes our line very well. Being a girl is very hard, but it is also has a lot of greatness. Everyday, us women, need to remember how blessed we are to be a woman.
This song came out when I was 13. Now I'm 26 and it has been so special to listen to it during both of those transitional times in my life. It's a classic with such a good message. I'm sure I'll still be listening at 42.
Me too!! ❤❤
I'm 25 now, my mom used to play this song out loud, I think she's saying it's going to be okay; it's not that big of a deal when looking back.
We need more positive music like this
The 25yo verse is still so relevant today wth
Thats cute . I played it for my daughter she was going through a rough patch to in high school. I think all girls do. So its the perfect song for all girls.
This song was played after my dance recital. I've been going to the same dance studio for 8 years and it is closing down. I did cry but listening to this song brings back some good memories of those 8 years and I cry. I had to leave some amazing people and one of my best friends that I danced with. It might seem silly to you but that studio was something really special to me and close to my heart and now I can't go back anymore but I do still have the memories, their happy but I still do cry
this song helped me get through me finding out i was pregnant with twins that have different dads (one being my father)💅🏾💕😍🥴
THIS SONG MAKES ME FEEL GOOD,EVEN AT AGE 62 !
I remember being the high school girl in her song and now I'm 21 and getting my first apartment and wondering where my life is gonna go:P lol
I wish you lots of luck and love, baby girl. It will only go up from here. The best advice I can give you, is to not compromise when it comes to your goals and dreams. Never settle.
Love, a girl about 42.

aww thank you so much :) I have a lot of hopes and dreams for my life. I'm scared about a lot of it (I want to be a teacher) but also excited because it's what I've always wanted to do. I wish you the best of luck and love to you as well!!

Oh man love this singer and her powerful voice. ❤😂❤😂
This song came out when I was a teenager. It's been a few years since I have listened to it and I am closest to being a girl about 42. I started bawling when I listened to it today. It hits different than it used to.
I'm 13 and I remember being little and playing this song everyday. I still play it alot.
Saaaaaame
My sister is 13, I'm 25, and our mom is 43. I'm convinced she planned this just for this song 😂
She did
I love these girl / woman empowering songs when I'm feeling down :D
She can sing like no one's business and is super talented!❤
The 90s back when country music was good
Yo Yo still better than the crap today
Yeah this is 2003 as mentioned, but the early 00's were just as good as the 90's, imo.

One of the best Weve ever had/What a voice.
Even though I’m a 27 year old man, I still can’t help but feel empowered and encouraged by this song, love it
Every time I hang out with my niece, this is "our song" that we play several times and sing along to. We've been singing it together for at least 5 years now. I'm trying to teach her that, regardless of whether or when she gets married, has kids, whatever, her girlfriends are going to be an important part of every moment of her life, and to never take these sacred friendships for granted.
Hello!!! How are you doing today! Please pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I just wanted to know if you're a fan!.. Stay safe!
Martina, you are an absolutely gorgeous lady with beautiful eyes, beautiful voice & beautiful smile. Just beautiful in every way. No one compares to you. Martina, you’re a doll with the voice of an angel. You are the greatest female singer ever.
I remember singing along to this at 13, and I remember singing to this at 25 in my first apartment...I have a ways to go until 42
My favorite song by Martina McBride ❤🌹⚘️
Saw Martina in concert a long time ago, when I was a little girl. She was one of my favorite country singers back then, and she still is now.
