For all of you wondering why he seems to get slower at 4:05 so near the flag, its because he doesnt want the firework to appear which would cost him a few secs in case you didnt know it appears if the last two digits on the in-game timer are the same

Tool Assisted Speedrun, basically the use tools to read the game (can be important for rng and general understanding) and they input the inputs fram by fram so everything is perfect.

also by not defeating him in world's 2,3,4,5,6 and 7
Even if it wasn't a speed run the shortcut canon was always there causing the plot hole to be Nintendos fault

I don't know why this has got so many thumbs down. I guess the 2000 or so don't know what a TAS is. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A TAS AND A SPEEDRUN.
Anyway, I really want to acknowledge the amount of effort that would have been put into this. It would have taken AGES to do (Research the levels, find how to get the highest speed using enemies, invisible stars etc.) As you can also see, the rerecord count gets into the 100 THOUSANDS. Well done to Adelikat, Terrortim, Mindnomad and Y05H1.
