The Real Organic Project is a farmer-led movement working towards certifying 1,000 farms across the United States this year. Our add-on food label distinguishes soil-grown fruits and vegetables from hydroponically-raised produce, and pasture-raised meat, milk, and eggs from products harvested from animals in horrific confinement (CAFOs - confined animal feeding operations).

We believe that the organic standards, with their focus on soil health, biodiversity, and animal welfare were written as they should be, but that the current lack of enforcement of those standards is jeopardizing the ability for small farms who adhere to the law to stay in business. The lack of enforcement is also jeopardizing the overall health of the customers who support the organic movement; customers who are not getting what they pay for at market but still paying a premium price. And the lack of enforcement is jeopardizing the very cycles (water, air, nutrients) that Earth relies upon to provide us all with a place to live, by pushing extractive, chemical agriculture to the forefront.
If you like what you hear and are feeling inspired, we would love for you to join our movement by becoming one of our 1,000 Real Friends:

I appreciate your content, good food is common ground politically. Corporations developing international and national policy that serve their continued growth at the expense of our general welfare separate the wheat from the chaff in both parties.

Let us explore vegan organic agriculture, that how much it's going to change, a real paradigm shift, of peace with nature.

I think we need to look to the past. Those people got us here. Rudolf Steiner is a good example

The question is, what do you do?
I am a real Market grower.
I'm so tired of the experience of a human created world destroying the life supporting complexity of the Earth/Nature... Exploiting the reality out of Life. My selfish direction is to go more indigenous on the land I live.
Rational mental depression is a deepening dilemma... Don't really want to grow food anymore. Best!
    Edit:
All words... almost no one listening and most people not even interested.
    Thanks for the conversation anyway.

The corporation is the modern day evolution of the tribe. The structure of the corporation works fairly well. It would work much better if it would shift from a patriarchal structure to a matriarchal structure. The problem is the corporation in relation to the nation state and legal structures. a corrupt and broken financial system has bastardized the original corporate structure and turned it into something which is parasitic on the community, the employees of the corporation, and everyone, except for the shareholders and the top executives, who serve the financial needs of the corporation in partnership with the greater government structures, which are no longer functional. it must also be considered that the government structure, considering the well-being of the people in the community in juxtaposition to the corporate structure is also a novel concept. Prior to that governance structures were all about power. It comes down to the evolution of a hyper mobile and hyper communicative society and a broken financial system, which is evolved to the point where it’s parasitic on the community and the well-being of the planet. We need to think outside of all of those lines going forwardand introduce institutions, which taken into account a connection with the past the future in the land on which we live. This is where the information tools that we have evolved and how our social systems have evolved will come into play and be very useful. We have made advances socially as a species. We just need to take the next step forward and reconnect consciously and spiritually with the land and with one another.
