these are always fun to go back to and watch
Allen is going to be a star. Under the right system he'll prosper. Great release of the ball, especially during deep throws. He's got aggressive footwork, he's tall and built right. Mayfield's got some good stuff, but being undersized will hold him back. He's got to find a way to compensate for that. Both of these guys will be a great addition to a team looking toward the future in the QB position.

I swear in nfl they do the most. All these tests mostly won't even translate to how someone will do when they playing the actual game. Just my thoughts though

If you actually watch the draft they show you exactly how the drills translate to the pro game. They showed how a drill simulates a play and even showed a pro doing the drill at the combine and him doing it in a game. For the QBs it’s just simple routes that they’re throwing to. Teams are watching for reaction timing, footwork, route running, etc... of course nothing is 100% fool proof or there would never be any busts, not just in football but in sports alike.

I’ve heard a lot about these two guys (amongst many, granted) and it’s good to see video of them. Allen has one hell of an arm (good 40 yard run too), but Mayfield looks smooth, with better accuracy. It’s going to be interesting to see how they cope in the NFL when the defence is coming right at them. I look forward to seeing these guys play.
I know they're probably only showing the best stuff but Josh Allen is making it look easy, like it's not even work for him. Very impressive (to my fan's eye).

Your seeing what the scouts are. He has an absolute effortless throwing motion. He can stand tall in the pocket with traffic and deliver a dart. What we haven't seen is consistency with accuracy. Some of his throws are atrocious.
I dunno man, he has a huge arm, but his accuracy was suspect.
Though I said the same thing about Watson from the combine to part way through the season where he showed big improvements. QBs can grow significantly in the NFL. I'd say give rookies at least a year to settle in and get coached up to standard.

I wish the combine would put defender in the field. They would only be there as soft defender, not really aggressive as in a real game. That way we can see how the QB choose were to place the ball and the speed they decide to get it there. That be a true upgrade from the combine of today.

They beat everyone like that last year. Nothing in that game was Baker Mayfield's fault either. Oline was awful last year, and I have never seen a game where the defensive line lived in the backfield so much. 49ers defense was special last year.
