The sad truth is that Eric, the huntsman in the story, is ordered by the queen to take Snow White far into the forest and kill her while stating that he knows the penalty should he fail. She further demands that the huntsman return with her heart in a jewelled box as proof of the deed. When he is about to use his knife, he cannot bring himself to kill her. After revealing the queen wants her dead, he tearfully begs for her forgiveness and urges her to flee into the woods and never come back to the castle.
When the queen shows the magic mirror the heart in the jewelled box as the proof she holds of snow white's death later that night, the magic mirror reveals that the heart in the box is actually that of a pig, causing the repulsed and furious queen to take matters into her own hands by descending a winding staircase down to a dark dungeon room, taking the box with her. The huntsman doesn't appear again afterwards in the film.
In conclusion, snow white was saved by a man, by the goodness of his heart. And he probably paid for it with his life. 🤷🏼♂️

Would not be surprised if the evil Queen turns out to be misunderstood, a victim of a man, full of rage because of how hard it is to be a woman. And she and Snow White understand each other in the end, that as women they need to stick together and they don't need men. And the Prince is some doofus who just doesn't get that time's up.

Most girls prefer Cinderella and Little Mermaid over Aladdin and Lion King, and that's okay. This could’ve easily been the best live version if they kept it right. Terrifying villain; great comedic relief; timeless theme. THEORY: the prince will be the villain and the queen is just another character being rewritten as a misunderstood hero. If it’s not about love, the only 2 options for the prince are clumsy sidekick or villain.

I think it was a video from Midnight's Edge that explained why. If I remember right, Disney wanted to have their own streaming service so that it wouldn't have to rely on paying Netflix to stream their own IPs. They banked on the idea that their catalog of movies and shows would be popular enough to retain subscribers but that failed spectaculary. One of the biggest reasons why streaming is failing is because there's not much good content out there compared to before, when Netflix basically had something from every studio (Disney, Sony, etc.)

Neil singlehandedly made me not want to buy anything from Naughty Dog. Outside the stuffI already own prior to Neil rising in Naughty Dog as his colleagues are fired or ousted in some manner. The majority of original and last twenty year veterans at Naughty Dog quit or were fired during the development of TLOU2. He, in part, got rid of those more responsible for the success of TLOU and Uncharted.
He also openly lied to customers during the leaks of TLOU2. Then when the game released kept taunting in his particular way to those who called him out. All I can say is we can see when he has more power in the company more issues arise. The multi-player, for example, is still not in sight for TLOU2 under his wing.
He rather instead of making games leach on the recent shows/movies from Naughty Dog properties. To further the narrative of them being his alone or to look that way.
He also as far as I know didn't contribute to the first game beyond the dlc's plot so...

@@chasehedges6775There were some major issues back in the 30 with worker’s rights which led to strike action. Staff would get fired just for associating with unions, and they wanted better pay. Strikes lasted for 5 weeks and resulted in a tonne of staff leaving or getting fired.
Walt Disney was known for hating unions and treated his staff kinda like crap 🤷🏻♂️. This was all during the Great American Depression in which the economy shrank by a third, and unemployment was as high as 25%.
My point is that the past, just like today, is a nuanced and complicated place. Let’s not be naive.
I realise that’s not as satisfying as hyperbolic narratives that these celebs like to use like “everyone was racist and sexist back then” or when people say the opposite “the world was better in every way”.

This is far better than Friday night tights where everyone is interrupting everyone and shouting over everyone.
I found it extremely interesting how she said: "that's not the story WE wrote" as if she had some say in the way the story was told. It almost sounds like another Phoebe Waller poo stain situation. Where KK was giving power to the female lead to change the storyline. It would explain the complete ruining of the plot by virue signaling it all to being the most "fair" in the Kingdom. As only a twenty year old twat would think of the term "fair" in that context. While anyone of age knows it means prettiest.
And anyone of reading knows it means most-white in a beauty context, so it's very, very funny to see Hollywood twist itself into a pretzel to get around this.
Few people understand story anymore and the centuries they have taken to evolve. I recommend The Uses of Echantment - The Meaning and Importance of Fairytales by Bettelheim. A fantastic read. A Little Book on the Human Shadow by Robert Bly as well.

The irony of the actresses in Snow White is that these are very good looking ladies that unintentionally and unknowingly are just modern versions of the alone, repulsive, and power hungry girl boss Wicked Witch from the original.

This. I know people always jump to "the CEOs make so much money", but it's like, they worked to get their positions, too. If you're going to blame/guilt them for making too much money and want them to take a pay cut, you have to do the same for others at the top of their fields as well.

@bolieve603 I think her main issue with her Star Wars books was that she didn't really have a handler to tell her "no." If she was solely relegated to her own Mando show and whatever Mando parts came up in other projects then I think she'd be an integral part of the team.

James Gunn reminds me of Vince Russo during the Attitude Era of WWE. He made something for one company (Guardians) that worked really well and now the opposing company is trying to attempt lightning to strike twice. Russo went to WCW and they actually tried to reboot the company on national television, only for things to get even worse. James Gunn’s reboot attempt feels like it’s going to fail, especially when the wound is still fresh over Henry being screwed over

in both the fairy tale and in the disney version, the wicked queen is considered "fairest of them all" by the magic mirror until Snow White comes of age.
then she is seen as the correct heir to the throne, better than the queen and the whole "fairest" is explained.
As it's not about beauty entirely, it's a part of it but there's also decorum, poise, grace, outlook, thoughtfulness and a dozen other traits. The only reason that Snow White wasn't considered fairest was that the regent was the one who was as she was the highest and most just of the peoples of the lands.
But on learning that her scheme to wed and then supplant the king had failed to crush the spirit of the daughter, she began to be twisted and turned horrible.
Wonder if they'll stick Gal Gadot in those hot iron shoes?

So the plot will be: the Queen who wants to be the Princess and The Princess who wants to be the Queen, that suspense is almost unbearable.
I'm more curious if anyone is able to draw any parallels between the fictional evil queen from the actual Snow White story and the girl-boss mentality we see on display here by the actresses.

The issue to me really isn’t the story. Cool. Be a girl boss. It’s the fact that these women don’t turn the absurd character off. Imagine even the guys in action movies just being the character they played ALL THE TIME. It wouldn’t make sense and we’d get annoyed real quick.
