  • So I have finally got to drive the new Audi TTS. A big thank you to Harwoods Portsmouth Audi for letting borrow this stunning car. In this video I take a close look at the Virtual Cockpit feature which brings the humble dashboard racing into the digital age. I then take it out on the road and put it through it's paces, exploring the different driving modes available and experiencing the phenomenal engine that produces 306 bhp !
    If you are interested in the new TT then I suggest you get on the phone and book a test drive ! If you live on the south coast of England then the number you need is :-

    I would like to thank Jonathan Powell and Jim Davis in particular. I hope you enjoy the video !

    This is a great review and really helpful. I am in the process of buying a 2016 TTS Launch Edition sight unseen on the other side of the country. Well actually I've seen pictures of it and keep looking them as if I was still 16 years old, the car looks fantastic and the one I'm buying has black wheels which really look good with the Mythos black paint and the aluminum mirrors and gas cap and the red brake calipers. But I have not driven a new model TT yet. I've been driving the 2000 TT that I bought for my daughter a couple years ago. I had her take my 2012 A6 back to college while I had some bushings replaced on her TT and 5 months later I have not wanted my A6 back yet! So I know I'll love having my 2016 TTS next week. It's only got 13,000 miles on it and the Carfax looks good so I put down a $2,000 deposit and I'm wiring the remaining $43,000 to the dealer tomorrow. Then a week from today my daughter and I are flying out to North Carolina to pick up the TTS and drive it back to Colorado. it's reassuring to see in your video how much you like this car because I'm taking a big leap of faith buying one without ever having driven one. But seeing that you enjoy it so much I know for sure that next weekend is going to be an absolute blast driving my new TTS across the country. So thanks for your review and cheers!

      The Boxster S is a stunning car but this Gen of TTS is really very good. Maybe not a fine a driving feel as the Porsche, but faster from A to B for most drivers thanks to Quattro all wheel drive and great styling inside and out. You should get yourself a test drive :-)

    I have been looking at reviews all over the internet. A lot of people with different opinions. Came in Minden-Germany to test drive a red TTS very bright red with yellowish interior, Audi exclusive, 20' with exactly the same rims but mine are wrapped or maybe painted into dark grey, I have to say... BMW.. Mercedes... Porsche... make way please.
    By the way, I bought the Roadster. I am currently in my Hotel Room, it's 08:34AM here and I am hoping for that wire transfer to arrive today so I can pick up the beast. If you want to fall in love. Let me know your e-mail.
    If I was to fall for paid reviews or false ones, I would've ended with a CLA45 AMG or BMW M240i, but, just test drive this one, for y'all who prefer BMW and Mercedes. This car, in this category, while might not be the same fun as you get in a Cayman S (not even the prices are even near the same), again, TEST DRIVE IT.
    It may be the lil brother of the R8 but that super-star feeling inside the Roadster does not have its DNA from R8 but I feel most likely like... you know, exagerated or not
    LAMBORGHINI HURACAN absolutely!
    By the way, this car made me go from Samsung Note 9 to iPhone 8 (not max because it doesn't stay in the wireless phone charger which is OEM in my car) Red Edition.
    What an absolute beast this car is.
    And let's just forget about the fact you've even forget about the wing. That wing automatically raises up at speeds up to 120km/h or electronically by just pushing a button.
    Also, what I really enjoyed is your sound quality, other reviewers have shit sound or edited one and makes the car sound like a really awful fart. Hear it in real life and your wallet goes off.
    Thank you for the review! Unfortunately, I got to see it when I already bought it and not before, maybe this review would've made me make the transfer a few days ago and now I would've been already driving in my country. But thanks and not for a biased or bought review but for the honesty.

    Hello Petrol Ped, I am thinking about buying an Audi TT.. I would like to
    know if you would recommend this car...Are there things that you don`t
    like about this car? is it also comfortable for longer trips (noise
    insolation, seats etc..)? I am still owning a BMW428I coupe, it is a good car, but it is time for a change....Is there a huge difference between the TT and the TTS? is it worth the extra money?thanks... greetings from Germany..

      I have no hesitation in recommending a TT. I’ve had two, a Mk1 and a Mk2

    need alittle advise mate, watched your great reviews of the tts and jaguar xe s, and love them both, which should i buy as an everyday driver, the 2 door vs 4 door dont bother :P lol

    • @PetrolPed
      @PetrolPed  Před 6 lety

      Wow Daniel, both very different cars but the good news is for me they are both excellent cars. I loved the XE S, it sounded great and makes a stylish choice over the usual German saloons. I personally would go for the TT as I don't need 4 seats so the fact the rear legroom isn't as big doesn't bother me. I think the XE is more practical but the TTS is more sporty and certainly feels more special to drive.
      Not sure of that helps ;-)

    • @danielafd13
      @danielafd13 Před 6 lety

      Petrol Ped appreciate such a quick reply, and it does help, I was swayed towards the TTS, but was worried the 4 cylinder would sound crap lol, I’m assuming the xe s sounds better tho, but completely agree with ur comments on the “usual German cars” ironically had an argument at work today about it, all said 3 series over xe s bar me. Now I’m young and drive a sensible but great Mercedes c class, premium plus 66 plate, but need something mote sporty I think, so I need to test drive the TTS, much appreciated, and yes I’ve subscribed now 👍 keep the vids up mate

    • @PetrolPed
      @PetrolPed  Před 6 lety

      The TTS is much quicker too and has 4 wheel drive so you can really deploy the power in all conditions. The XE S drives through the rear wheels so is a little more tail happy :-)

      @@PetrolPed the 2013 one was just a cayman sold for 33k as only had 22k miles on. I would prefer a Cayman S but the prices since I started looking a year ago have shot up.. not sure if they will drop again as I only really want to spend up to 30k as its just my car not the family car.. I trade my Velar in today for an Audi Q2 for the wife hence the extra funds for me a car.. also if the TTS would you go auto or manual ?

      I bought a white TTS, 2016 with 15k miles on the clock absolutely mint condition. I'm absolutely loving the car, thanks for the review it swayed me in the right direction and I'm now a TTS fan boy....

    Is it really necessary to have S version, when 2.0 TFSI got 230h, from 0-100km in 5.3 s and top speed limited on 250 km/h? I feel that its like in motorcycles, 600cc bike give you same feeling like 1000cc just you have to gear a bit more to keep the pace, but some people even like that extra involvement, engagement a rider.

      This is a good point and you could extend it to the TT RS too. Having driven them all I would still go for the S or RS. You just get that little bit more power and performance for 'that' overtake. It is however a personal preference and the standard 2.0 would be more than enough poke for most drivers.

    So the question is, when are you going to upgrade your fleet,??

    • @PetrolPed

      I am waiting for the new S4 to replace my 2012 S4. That has virtual cockpit and rumours are it will have about 350bhp.
      I really fancy an F Type...and I've got one of those on test next weekend !

    My exterior color and those WHEELS put shame to 200,000 cars in my opinion:) Sad this model has been discontinued for 2020:( for the USA.

    having owned Gen 1 and now a barn find 2012 White TTS Coupe with 19K miles, i would say Audi killed the design. Not a fan of the transformer looking angles of the new Audis. I also have a 2017 S8 and the new S8 looks like a honda, shame in the end

      Petrol Ped I took two of these out, a TT RS and most recently the TTS. I would rather walk or take a bus then drive a white car. The RS is the one to buy.
