      Excuse me sir. Did you know that the 5.0 coyote is the 302 but completely redesigned? Back in the 80s the 302 CI name was changed to 5.0 L because of the metric system. Later on in the 90s or early 2000s I think was when it was face lifted and given overhead cams increasing its power at high rpm.

      Equal length headers into 3" X Pipe, and then twin 3" exits near the back wheels. An enlarged oval exit at the tips finish it off. A real cracker on this engine. Cheers.

    Do you have a rev limiter on that thing? Recently bought a notchback with a carb'd 302, which is my first car with a carb. Anyway, no rev limiter, so it's a bit nerve racking.

    Im trying to build a high reving 289 like this for my foxbody, what did your build list look like, bottom end wise?

    • @Mr357Cleveland
      @Mr357Cleveland  Před rokem +1

      This one was set up for historic racing and features a Ford SVO block, H beams, forged crank and pistons. When you're circuit racing, the good bits pay for themselves long term. It's got a solid roller, cast heads and a single plane with a 750 mechanical secondaries up top. You could build a well machined and balanced stock 289 with forged pistons that would hang together OK at this rpm, but holding things flat for long periods on the circuit tends to be pretty hard on standard gear. Cheers.
