- I've had several comments now telling me that Aalst is a Belgian town, which is correct, but please be aware that there is also an Aalst in the Netherlands, which is just south of Eindhoven and is where the photos shown at the start of the video were taken👍
Here is a Google maps link for the location of the Dutch village of Aalst which you can see at the bottom below the words 'Van der Valk Hotel Eindhoven'👍

Your work is incredible!!! One thing. If you've ever demolished a brick wall you would know they never all come down whole. You should've broke some of them up a bit.
Das Haus ist der Hammer 🔨 Klasse Suuuuper !!!!! Top 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I am a dutch man and I have to say, the building? Spot on!! Like my bakery back in the sixties! Wel done!
Fantastic work!! Thanks for showing it, at 23:50 the music track was really amazing, thank you!
Extraordinary skill and knowledge! Bravo! Thanx for sharing!!🔥👌👍✌
Amazing, that is all…👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
That damage to the building looks amazing. The color difference between the fresh rubble and the time-weathered exterior is extraordinary.
Besides having the skills, experience, the material, the tools the most important thing is... patience.
A lot of patience.
Fascinating to see the process.
Thanks for watching........I think in making dioramas, as in most endeavours in life, patience is top of the list of the skills and tools to prefect👍
Remarkable detail! Just remarkable! 😳
Lovely...Just Lovely
incredible work.
👍 another great diorama
CZcams is populated with channels that open boxes, review, build, paint and weather kits, but the true legends give their models pupose with an Awesome Diorama!
Fantastic work, rich in detail. Show
I love your work!
That brickwork is great. You actually work it as a miniature brick layer.
Unusual Sherman.
I may have to get one for my mini tank park!
May I ask why it is unusual?
The Dutch have a great description of what you're doing with those bricks: monniken werk. Monks work. But man that looks good!
I modeled a bit as a kid (Revell had some kind of Model of the Month Club) for a couple of years. We thought we were cool building “scrap” models from leftover parts. Beyond just getting the kits together and maybe a bit of spray for auto bodies, I never really did much. This was all WAY back. Not sure how I started watching diorama builds, but the detail work and the meticulous attention to getting it all right is somehow both relaxing and inspirational to me. I can assure you I won’t be trying anything this ambitious (I’m much too savvy for that), but I will continue to explore creative outlets in wood. Weird, huh?
Another big plus is that I’m a huge World War II buff and enjoy very much getting into the daily stories of the war in Europe, especially. Thanks for finishing this up. It turned out absolutely amazing. Great work!
🤝super diorama👌very good👍
🤝
one of the best👏 Market garden subject is very good for making dioramas and more shermans😉
Wonderful attention to detail. Another great diorama love the tank.
Very very cool! Nice modeling, thanks for sharing.
Absolutely brilliant work as always. Living in The Netherlands myself, I'm truly amazed at how you've incorporated all the little details of Dutch building and street architecture!!
A great piece of work. Iam dutch and the house looks great!! Just keep in mind the roof tiles is Holland are more orange. Type of tiles are called Tuile du Nord.😃👍👍
Thanks......that's good to know👍
Now that's art!!! I've lived there ( aalst-waalre) , makes it more beautiful
Great '44 Operation Market Garden diorama my friend and excelent work at the details my friend !👍🏻🏅🏆🎩👌🏻
Hi mate, hope your OK and family and all had a good Christmas and New Year. You know I got that book and thought it was brill a bit back and nearly sent you a copy as I know you like your Shermans. Never mind mate, sorry , I'm usually late to the party. I stand by my very first ever comment on your channel and when this wee young chalky white was just a small channel with small subbies ... I said " you will go far, your Talent for this hobby of ours is something special and something that most of us modelling " Peasants" can only dream of . Thank you matey for taking time to share your amazing work with us. Happy New year my friend and stay safe.
Cheers Steve....happy new year to you too👍
Superb detail as always
I am speechless mate, what a stunning scenery and building process!
Thanks Michael.....a Happy New Year to you 👍
Excellent! Those bricks looked tedious but well worth it!
Another cracking job. Well impressive
Gob-smackingly brilliant. A real treat to have to round off the year. Thank you!
Solo 5 palabras.....es pec ta cu larrrr!!!!...... muy muy bueno!!!!!
First class job as always, love the detailed building...👍
Great Channel, just Subscribed 👍👍👍
Bonjour, Quel boulot, quelle maitrise ! Un travail méticuleux qui nous mène à une oeuvre d'art ! C'est magnifique, réaliste.... Bref ! Que des félicitations bien méritées ! De biens cordiales civilités (de France) Patrick
Wonderfull job! I live in the street where the pictures are taken and it is right on the corner. Futhermore I have been studying the war in my vicinity dit years and interviewed a lot of people, including the daughter of the bakery and one of the children (sisters) in the picture.
I say: spot on! I wished I was so skillfull. It would make a great addition to nu collection of the war in Aalst.
Thank you, that's great to hear👍
Oooh man. That really looks great and the details 👌🏼. Just one small thing. In that time the houses in the Netherlands were built with brick walls outside and inside. The walls between the rooms could been made of wood.. Apart from that it really looks great!!
Exquisite modelling. A joy to watch you create a little masterpiece. Bravo, Sir! 👏🏻
good work! 👍
Incredible detail and authenticity bring this diarama to life in miniature, Impressive and then some..👍❤️
Beautiful work. Just stunning. I can watch this sort of craftmanship forever. Credit to you.

Superb and Outstanding diorama! 🏆
Excellent build. Very enjoyable way to spend New Years Eve (afternoon). Have a Great New Year. Looking forward to many more great master pieces in 2022.
Another out standing job, well done. Your videos are very helpful and inspiring. Keep them coming and stay safe. 👏👏
Wow, I mean like wow, you have further inspired me with yet another mind blowing build. Thank you, may this continue 🙏
Operation Market Garden was and still is a big thing in the Netherlands. We celebrate it every year. De brug bij Arnhem. We vieren het ieder jaar. We zijn dankbaar wat de Amerikanen voor Nederland hebben gedaan
My Grandfathers war ended in Eindhoven shortly after Market Garden when he was hospitalised.......he was visited in hospital every day by a Dutch family and they became lifelong friends until he died in 1990....we thank you too 👍
@@CWModelling Really? May God bless your grandad. He's a hero CW. Een held.
Beautiful. Highly skilled work
Omg I knew you'd upload when I'm going out on the lash 🤣 will have to watch tomorrow
Hope the hands had a good Christmas
But what wonderful art! Incredibly detailed and I want to start trying to make one too! 👏😎👏
Nice. The 3d printers definitely make it a LOT easier than it used to be to make certain details and even full minis.
Magnificent 👏👍👌
Amazing, my friend! Love it! With each job you surpass yourself, mate! Cheers! 👏👏
Thanks Toni, I'm glad you enjoyed it👍
Amazing Ian….. Always enjoy watching you create those unique buildings, the brickwork & damage to the first floor is superb👌. Figures suit the scene so well, great copy from that original photograph! Well done bud, look forward to seeing more marvels in 2022…😄👍
Simply a work of pure art. Enjoyed every minute of the video. Watched it quite a few times now. Given me the push to finally start my fury German town diorama. Keep up the awesome work.
Happy new year 2022. Amazing . Great work on this one!
As expected absolutely fantastic mate. If this doesn't inspire people to have a go at something then i don't know what will. Nice little Christmas present to all of us from you. Thank you and here's to a good new year and more great builds
Absolutely phenomenal detail and passion in that diorama. Much to admire and inspire to… Thanks for sharing, regards Chris
Amazing detail!!! 😲
Everything is awesome, as usual, but the building is simply stunning! You did great work on the detail and damage, and making it still look in use despite the war surrounding it.
Thanks and happy new year!
Damn that’s awesome. Great build, I really enjoyed the video!
Absolutely fantastic my friend. You have a great eye for small details. Thank you for a great 2021 and I hope 2022 will be even better. Happy holidays to you and yours, and I wish you much sucess and great health in 2022.
Another epic build...the 1:13:02 flew by....so many amazing details, techniques and tips. Your work is incredible and a sheer pleasure to watch regardless the subject. Thanks for a great 2021 and here's to another super year of modelling to look forward to. A belated Happy New Year!
Really cool build, so much amazing things learnt. I must learn more about making designs for me 3d printer. Love the tiles
A very good diorama, with everything it need therefore. Something, that harmonizes wonderfully in its composition.
Very nice video about its development up to this perfect result. A nice completition for this year, Ian.
Wish you all the best for the next year. Greetings, Joachim
Looks great. 👍Thank you and happy new year!
Beautiful work!! Happy New Year!!
Totally awesome job it's fantastic
Great work!!!!
I've seen so many of your videos and i love it. The work you putt in to the details is amazing, i wish i had these ways of detailing when i was young. But i had to work with what we had and could afford. Still i was able to make some, although not with the detail you putt in to it.
I really love your work.
a stunning piece as always so much inspiration watching your videos has helped me improve my own skills. Happy new year to you and cannot wait until 2022 to watch more
Wow it looks so good.
Good job mate! Like it! :)
Excellent video! Amazing dio! Great job!
The house in particular, as mentioned by others, is stunning!
As for the foam, as others ask, if in Europe, look for AK foam, they do have a few varieties. I'll be using their Construction foam for a dio I'm working on.
Green Stuff World also has some foam.
And then of course on Leroy-Merlin and other stores of this kind, they do have different kinds of foam, XPS, EPS, the choice depends on what we want to do with it.
Wish you a great New Year!
Cheers!
Thanks......stick to construction XPS insulation foam.....its a lot cheaper than 'modelling' brands.......EPS is white polystyrene which is good for different things👍
@@CWModelling Yes, XPS is what I'm using for the base of my dio ;)
I got a couple of AK Construction foam just for making the ruins, I think it will be easier to work with it than with the XPS (at least the one I got, blue, not gray like yours, maybe it's a different kind, IDK, got this one on the local Leroy-Merlin... Funny cause on this Leroy-Merlin, the EPS they have is kind of light gray).
For the main base the XPS I got is great indeed ;)
Yours looks pretty good too for the house ruins, I don't think I'd be able to build the ruins with mine.
Cheers!
Awesome presentation! Skill level 100%....Totally Inspiring..(:>)
Amazing as always you have so much patience, all the best for the New Year
Amazing detail, truly a bridge too far 😏
Beautiful work as usual Ian happy new year take care my friend 👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏✌️🐑😁
Awesome 👍😊
Amazing 😎👍
Awesome job man! I just recently started making models and I hope to become as good as you one day. Merry (Late) Christmas and have a great new year!
ah nice the netherlands thank you looks amazing and what a eye of detail you have legend and a happy new year
thank you
G'day CW, I'm gobsmacked! This is outstanding work. Made even more impressive that you've based your diorama on a real photograph; which gives the finished art a great credibility of purpose. You've got a very keen eye for minute detail and this gives your scene even more authenticity. This is the first of your work I've seen. I'm so glad I caught this. There is no way I can't subscribe now. I'll have a great time catching up on your other work and I look forward to more. You are a highly talented modeller, congratulations and a Happy New Year! BH Hobart, Tasmania
Thanks for watching👍......lots of goodies planned for this year so hope you will enjoy👍
@@CWModelling G'day CW, I'm sure I will. Was just over on your home page, trying to take it all in. I'm astounded by your work. I'm ex-RAAF and, surprise, mostly do aircraft of WW2 and Korea onward. I'm a military historian which keeps me busy. The closest I've come to a diorama are flight line patches of taxiway and runways. The only structure I've tackled is the gaping 'mouth' of a large aircraft maintenance hangar, done from memory of a RAAF hangar that I know was built during WW2 at RAAF Forest Hill, near Wagga Wagga, NSW. Looking back on that build; mine looks like a tarpaulin lean-to compared to your buildings! ;) All the best and I'm glad the CZcams algorithm recommended your video. See, sometimes, they get it right... Cheers, BH
Hello im from the netherlands and i live in aast this is super cool to see i also like making dioramas so this is Amazing for me
Cool, glad you enjoyed it 👍
Excellent, mate! Your ingenuity never ceases to amaze me 👍 It would be great if you could add notes as to which materials and products you're using, paint colors, thinning ratios, air pressure, etc. (I know you do this in some of your separate build videos) . It would be a big help here for those of us wanting to replicate what you're doing!
Cheers......this one was just eye candy for xmas but there are some brief notes in the video description......normal service will be resumed next year👍
@@CWModelling Thanks for that! I hope you had a good Christmas and wishing you a prosperous New Year 🍾
Joli !!
