The most realistic terrain I ever built | The War Within 1/72 Diorama

  • In this diorama my terrain skill gone up and beyond. I achived the most realistic looking on a diorama. From the stones to the resin river. From the scale model trees to the grassy field.
    As you know, my goal is to improve a skill on each project and this wasn't exception. I'm not 100% happy with the plane (I had many issues with the kit) but I'm in love with the tiny kubelwagen.
    Still waiting for the replacement of the LA-7 canopy that is delayed due to Covid 😤
    It's an interpretation of german soldiers that refused to kill more enemies by the end of the second world war. This is a scene of a soviet pilot stranded in German territory after crashland his aircraft due to a engine failure, waiting for his fate to be decided.

    Yes, this is really the most realistic scenery you have made. I have seen all of your builds. The difference between the builds without blackbasing is absolutly incredible. I am a modeller too and i am absolutly inspired. And yeah a little more damage on the plane would be a little more realistic but the rest is really really awesome. Thanks for that and hope to see more from you. 👍 greetings from germany.

      You can find tutorials on youtube how to make one. Search for DIY static grass applicator

    Amazing work! Just a nitpick - I've always thought you had to touch a conductive material (like the glue) with the negative electrode for the grass to really stand up. You seem to be touching non-conductive parts of the diorama, and one would think that has no effect? What is your experience?

    • @ModestModeler
      @ModestModeler  Před 3 lety

      Thanks! Even non conductive materials let some static electricity pass and you only need to touch around the area. What makes the grass stand up is the static power generated by the applicator. The DIY ones can apply to 6mm with no problem but bigger like 10 or 12mm you will have a hard time trying to get the grass straight

    What happens when the wood rots?

    • @ModestModeler
      @ModestModeler  Před 3 lety +2

      Well I never had a piece rotting... I generally "bake it" at around 70-80ºC to dry and kill any bacteria or bugs that may cause the wood to rot.

    Great work! You cannot get better than that. I can’t believe the thumbs down left by some idiot that plays with LEGO blocks in his / her moms basement. Some people don’t have a clue.
