- Fireball Tool makes quality products that are even nice to assemble as well as use. I really like the cast then machined squares they sell so when i needed another tool for clamping different angles, i was glad they sell a solution. I can see my self using these quite often.
JD is the reason for my purchase of the Fireball square. Besides he has great music. Just ordered the adjustable square.
Mark Tracy enjoy!
The brackets look like smiling fish . . . Jason at Fireball is a genius!
Looks like a handy tool. Nice addition to help make the work you do even better. Thanks for the video.
Duncan MacKenzie thanks for watching
Wow that’s convenient. I really enjoyed hearing your podcasts
Eric Long awesome, glad you liked it. Thanks for watching!!
Great video👊 I’m getting a couple squares after watching what you do with them. Keep up the good work
Chris Wojnarski you will not regret buying them!
Chris Wojnarski Thanks!
Man, he makes some great stuff.
RetroWeld he sure does!!
Yep I bought the 3 pack.:)
Ride of the Valkeries, JD playing that in the workshop could inspire creativity and make people think that you are high brow. Just kidding JD. Anything positive to lift morale and keep you and your boys motivated is good for business and good for your soul.
Mark Fryer it is, thanks for watching!
Your staircase handrails shall be *_DEAD NUTS!!_*
I welded mine on the tab and slot side so a fillet weld would not obstruct using the inside surfaces for clamping parts to.
tsmartin cool, sounds good
yeah thats the way they were designed to be welded as per the prints and welding symbols thats why it says some machining may be required if you overfill the slot... but if it works for him then i guess it works.
was thinking same thing, weld in tab slot ,pulls tab squarely into slot as weld shrinks, not over to one side.
Looking good!!!
I've been tool baited! And dang you JD, Tig welding. Arghhh.
looking at the tig welding , im glad theres a mig gun hanging over the staircase
JD, love yur videos of some really serious projects like those 2nd floor areas (mezanines), elevated walls aluminum sign frames & rain shields..on & on..oh! Did I mention your choice of classical bkgrnd music together with fast forward..yes, u have a Hollywood video presentation! So, is their an Academy Award/Oscar category for you & Jody (WT&T) for yur teaching videos?🙂👍 More stuff please!
That’s so cool!!!
I always like watching you fabricate! Jason makes some pretty awesome tools too!! JD, do you sell tee shirts? I would love to support you that way.
Reid Eichner thank you Reid, I really appreciate that.... I do not have a way to sell anything set up right now. I will get that done and I will let you know. Thanks!!
YES, please do. I will definitely buy a couple!!
Hey JD, Do you remember what your tig settings where at? Filer rod?
Thanks
Nick Williams 3/32 tungsten and filler amps probably around 100
Sweet!
I take they don’t sell this DIY weld kit no longer?
No, they are cast now
That is a handy tool
Master of None thanks Utkan
Seems to be more an adjustable jig than a square.
Cool! 👍👊
Fred McIntyre thanks Fred!
Electro-magnet
Nice!
fwflyer78 thanks
Hey JD, I like the blue snap clamps you used to hold the magic sq together when you welded them, where did you get those?
Vise grips off of Amazon
What type blue locking pliers are those? Nice video
Irwin 12LC large capacity vise grips. a fabricators best friend.
Your such a square man😂 its all about the angle of the dangle lol
Chris R hahaha thanks for watching!!
Ok rat tuyet voi
Nice
Show is how square (true) the weldment is after tig'ing.
Just as square as before welding... small welds.
LOL, you made my point. "Before" trues the two pieces for weldment. As the part cools the metal contracts. The question is, "how much?" (If any.) squaring before the heat is applied does not demonstrate the right angle is true AFTER the weld. As a welder, you know that. We both know a tack weld can pull two pieces of metal out of alignment. You removed the clamps before doing all the welds. And the pieces are lightweight so are easily moved by expansion and contraction caused by the two-thousand (plus) degree tig gun.
Of course, now you could do a second video to claim it didn't pull. I suggest welding another, and while still on camera, show it never pulled as it cooled. The cast angle plates you used to position the pieces are over-priced & overkill for the project. Since, according to you, it didn't pull (being "small welds,") why not save a hundred dollars by not buying bulky fixtures and instead spend five dollars on a magnetic angle plate? You don't even have to clamp them. Why not buy a set for fifteen dollars, or a large one iwth 100 pounds of magnetic force for the same low price?
Cool story
Welders recognize my comments as "welding science". But I'll take your "cool story" non-reply.
larry your a cock. if you dont want to use the over kill and over priced cast angle plates then dont. he does cos he wants to. turn off your computer and stop trying to sound smart. no one give a fuck about you larry. piss off mate and go for a long walk off a short pier.
Can you help me with a technical drawing?
Woodworks could use that tool.
Carter W Hern anybody who builds who like it!
Genial
Wow
dead nuts
Lol I probably machined the Mega Square.
oh wow you pushed the green button. when parts loaders larp as machinists.
@@DieselRamcharger no I used to work there. I literally probably machined the one in the video. Especially the early versions.

It should be where I used to work, those stickers. I swear I hate them I had taken some home from work and they were in my car for a year in every crevice and crack you can think of.
