I got my hands on a BMW M2 Competition (DCT) Press car in November, I took it over to see my buddy Chris aka "Baron Von Grumble", he might be the motorbike guy online, but he loves his cars too and recently sold his stunning Porsche 911 GTS. We have quick look over his brand new £68k HP4 Race track toy, he then proceeds to scare me and be very honest about the M2 Comp, enjoy!
We plan to do a Bike vs Car video at some point in the future, watch this space!

So big thumbs up to all your footage, made with excitingness and clearly spoken impressions while driving and feeling the cars, from a view of a "normal guy" who looks for what makes fun and sense in daily use and is worth the money to buy. Instead of what gives you a second faster or slower on a racetrack, where 95% of those cars aren't used.

Baron, instead of heading for the A272 turning, you should have made a turn after 'Lanzante' and head towards South Harting instead, looking to pick up the B2141. It's a nice little hill climb leading onto to some flowing road, where you can then open up the taps should you wish.

I get what you guys mean about the manual vs auto thing... but i’ve never had as much fun in an automatic as i have in a manual. I’ve had a mustang v8 and a c7 grand sport corvette both in manual, nothing better than blasting around and getting your shifts perfectly... if the pedals are setup right and heel toe is possible the rewarding feeling of getting it all right is immense. Thats why people will always give other people shit for not getting the manual, your giving up a huge part of enjoying the machine... yeah it wont be as fast but its just super rewarding. Anyways now i have a 2.5 jetta in auto and a cbr1000rr. Wish my jetta was manual.

I think the M2 comp is the best looking of the M cars. Definitely, more playful, and nimble. Agree BMW should give more options for color and use Marino leather, but really a fun, beautiful car.

Nearly ordered an LCI M2 from new. I was surprised to see M seat belts at no extra charge. I think they introduced it to the UK market at some point and was free too!

Congrats Joe on your purchase and the vids. Keep them coming!! I too went down the same path with colour, but a DCT. I have a question for you. How much do you know about the "crank hub" issue on this engine? I originally thought after stumbling across it on the net that it was an issue that plagued just modified BMW's. After digging a little deeper I've discovered on forums that it has also occurred on the occasional stock vehicle and aftermarket companies such as VTT in the US are offering a 'spline-lock' remedy. Love to hear your thoughts and if you have any concerns, especially once the warranty period expires.

Enjoyed! Regards the dash tech info; I think motorcycle riders are spoiled by the amount of info we get on the latest TFT dash rather than the info overload that car makers put on their latest. A momentary glance on a good modern bike tells you all you need to know against searching for it on cars. My 2013 Audi Q5 (Fkn defrauded of it by a trader that ran to Vietnam.) was fine but the modern versions out of centre field I've seen are hit and miss. Subbing Joe now...no "reach around".

Anyone know if the speedo/tach needles can be coded to be red all the time. On an M240?
Interesting discussions about manual vs dct, I got dct for my 2017 M2 and right now i kinda regret not having the manual option, there is some things that pisses me off about the dct like automatic shifts and such bs, and really i dont do 1on1 race in a straight line like the other dudes in my race group so manual might have been a funnier option. if i would ever swap m-car id definitely try and get a manual one.
