Lakawon Island is known for its white-sand beaches, clear turquoise waters, and relaxing atmosphere. It is also less crowded than the more popular beaches in the Philippines, giving visitors a quieter visit. Why is it called Lakawon Island? The name is from the Bisaya word “lakaw,” which means to walk.
Lakawon Island is situated just 48 kilometes away from Bacolod City, the capital of Negros Occidental. It is reachable from the shore of Barangay Cadiz Viejo through a 20-minute boat ride. It is known as the Boracay of Negros because of its powdery white sand beach. - Zábava
