- Jamey Johnson performs a cover of Willie Nelson's "Write Your Own Songs" at Farm Aid's 30th anniversary concert at FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island in downtown Chicago, Illinois, on September 19.
Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

I was there with a group of friends. We were able to meet Jamey and talk with him for a minute. He's an awesome human being as well as singer/songwriter and it was great meeting him.

no shit sherlock . I was trying to imply that jamey is an excellent song writer that sings his own songs unlike many artists (puppets) today who need songs written for them. Hell most even have stylists who dress them in their pre ripped skinny jeans.

Another great cover by Jamey Johnson. I know Mickey Rafael is Willie's harps player and one of the best, but he was too loud when he came in and kinda took away from the song.
