In Hebrews Chapter 11, it has become popularly known as "the Hall of Faith" chapter. It names many famous Biblical people of faith, such as Moses, Enoch, Abraham, the harlot Rahab, and then towards the end, it mentions" [v.35] "and others were * tortured, not accepting deliverance that they might obtain a better resurrection." The original 1611 KJV has a marginal note with an asterisk referring to the word "tortured" (above) and it refers to * 2 Macc 7:7.

I've heard that the CATHOLIC Church compiled the books of the NT. As you said around the year 397 at a council of Carthage and Hippo that Pope Damascus directed. Also there were other letters floating around back then like Saint Clement, and the dedicate and so there had to be a decision on other letters that were not included. Sometimes I think compiling the New Testament books was a good idea . You remember Martin Luther actually wanted to take certain books how did the New Testament like Hebrews the book of James and others as well

Original 1560 Geneva Bible [New Testament] References 1 Macc 4:59 In the Gospel of John 10:22-23 we read: And it was at Jerusalem the * feast of the Dedication, and it was winter.
And Jesus walked in the Temple, in Solomon's porche. In the Geneva Bible, they have a Marginal Note referencing * 1 Macc. 4:59. "Which was the institute that the people might give thanks to God for their deliverance and the restoring of their religion and Temple which Antiochus had corrupted and polluted." this story in 1 Macc. - this is what John 10:22-23 is referencing. This is celebrated because Judah (the Hammer) Maccabee defeated King Antiochus and the Jews reclaimed the Temple, they purified the Temple, and they re-dedicated the Temple to the LORD, and that's why they call it the Feast of Dedication, the "days of Hanukkah"- because it's the re-dedication of the Temple after Antiochus polluted it. And this set the stage for the coming of the Messiah which was to take place 160 years into the future. Without these events, there would be no New Testament and no Gospel because Jerusalem had to be made ready for the coming Messiah. This is why Jesus also took part in the Feast of Hanukkah as we see in John 10:22-23. All of these events are in the Holy Bible - they are fully Biblical recorded events that endure to this day. The reason there is so much lack of knowledge and awareness of Hanukkah is because 1 and 2 Macc. was removed from the Canon of Scripture - most likely due to the shocking and horrific violent details contained within the story. But a lot of awareness, for example, of not eating "swine's flesh" (unclean food) and that it is an abomination to God - to eat the unclean food - the swine's flesh - this powerful truth was taken away from the modern Christian mindset after so many years of gradual departure from the original true faith, once delivered to the saints. We need to get back to the original Christian faith, a commandment-keeping faith, a law-abiding faith. The mainstream Christian Church today is generally "law-less" because they are totally unaware that they too have to "keep the commandments of God". Gentiles are "grafted-into 'Israel' and become "fellow-citizens". We cannot have a dysfunctional family where 1-half obeys the Torah and the other half neglects the Torah. We need to unite in one accord and follow the narrow way set before us. Jews, of course, need to Repent and believe in Jesus (Yeshua) for their Salvation. So we have this dis-connect between Jews and Christians.

He touched on this in this discussion, but there are many extra canonical writings of Christians beginning in the first century and continuing throughout the Ante-Nicene period and longer, demonstrating the texts of Scripture that these early Christians quoted. This is how we can be confident of those books that made the church Canon. Most, if not all, were quoted by the earliest Christians as Scripture beginning in the first century on a widespread basis. Most of these disputed books were not quoted in the same way as Scripture. This is why they were not included in the church Canon, and it is alway advisable to read them with caution. Certainly, it can be useful and insightful to read them, just know to be careful in using the information from these texts.

And I might add, it is always a good practice to compare what you read in these non-canonical texts with what is contained in the Bible. The text in the Boble always supercedes anything you read in extra canonical texts.

Jesus Christ performed many miracles, but he didn't write the Bible, and the Bible itself was not one of his miracles. It is based on his life and story as told by others. Over time, the leaders of Christianity grew weaker, and with each new government or empire, the scriptures were altered to align with the laws and rules of the new regime. This has been happening for generations, which is why the Bible can no longer be taken seriously. It's no longer about what God wants but about what the government and people can profit from. Christian organizations have their own agendas.

  • @TheHeavenTestdotnet-gr2ou

For some churches it doesn't matter what the Bible says. Paul tells us to rightly divide the word of truth, the gospel of our salvation, but men do not do that. They combine the gospel of the kingdom with the gospel of the grace of God.
Then they make their own false gospels. I have asked CoC preachers to debate me but they will not debate me. They will debate other denominations about water baptism, but they will not debate me because I rightly divide the word of truth.
I rightly divide the gospel of the kingdom from the gospel of the grace of God.
To all of the CoC members, I ask for you to truly think about what you're believing when you believe that water baptism washes away your sins.
Your preachers tell you that you contact the blood of Christ in your baptistry. How exactly does your preacher say that this magic occurs?
You don't seem to understand that you are denying Christ's sacrifice on the cross when you believe this heresy.
You are in fact telling Jesus Christ that He did not do it all on the cross. You are saying that the Second person in the Godhead did not do everything needed.
I hereby offer to debate any CoC preacher at GBN.
Until that debate occurs, I ask for you to remove the word gospel from your name so that it only says Broadcast Network.

Before you can “rightly divide” the word, since there are thousands doing so, we must define who has the authority to do so? Sooooo,
History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, - the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, - the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, - not only did they not agree but their individual lists of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time, growing in numbers of hundreds of “inspired” NT writings.
Therefore, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 5th century with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and preserved it by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us who did? And if this church no longer exists today, what good is the text which came forth from her if she couldn't sustain herself?

    • @TheHeavenTestdotnet-gr2ou
      @TheHeavenTestdotnet-gr2ou Pƙed 26 dny

I believe that you are leaving God out of the equation.
Do you not believe that the God that created everything by speaking it into existence can have the Bible created exactly the way that He wants the Bible to be written?
If you are a member of the Roman Catholic Church then you put Mary between you and God.
Do you want that godless organization to reign supreme on this earth, or do you want God to reign supreme?
We are told to rightly divide the word of truth, the gospel of our salvation. II Timothy 2:15, Ephesians I:13-14.
The Roman Catholic Church does not rightly divide the gospels of the NT and neither do denominations.
Therefore, these organizations are nothing more than social clubs that meet together on any given Sunday.
We see in the book of Revelation that the Lord's Day is the day of Christ's return to earth. Revelation 1:10.
These organizations call Sunday the Lord's Day. However, I can't see how they can do so when they do not obey the command of Jesus Christ to rightly divide the word of truth, the gospel of our salvation.
Yes, the words of Paul are commandments of the Lord. Paul tells us this truth.
Paul tells us that those who with all decievableness of unrighteous perish because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. II Thessalonians 2:10-12.
Everyone needs to choose between God and their man-made organizations.
My status is as a child of God.
