- With older MacBooks still being in use today - and support for High Sierra on the way out - is it possible to make an older Mac supported (and usable) in 2022? In this video, we'll be using OpenCore Patcher to install macOS 12 Monterey on this 2011 MacBook Pro.

I've a late 2011 MacBook Pro 15", ran High Sierra 10.13.6, but now, after a magic with a little help from your video it runs Ventura 13.6.7

I wonder if I should upgrade to ventura from Catalina on a mid 2010. Catalina runs smoothly. What about ventura or Monterey?
Definitely Stay on Monterey unless you’re a video editor, stay on Catalina

Hi great video, you have given us some great steps to upgrade a non upgraded OS. I upgraded my 2011 MacBook Pro 17” to Monterey but it’s lagging a lot and many functions are not working, like cannot sign in to iCloud, can’t open FaceTime, some other apps and I don’t know what is best OS for this device newer than High Sierra. Most probably to runs on OCLP Big Sur could be the better ones since it had accelerate graphics than the Monterey.

Is it run good without any issues because I have an installed Ventura on my MacBook Pro 2011 and I faced many problems like Bluetooth. Turn it off from hardware and AirDrop doesn’t work and Siri also doesn’t work

i have a question? When uploading from dosdude 1, screen sharing and camera were automatically thrown when we opened, does the camera and screen sharing (discord) work in this?

Thanks for the video which was perfectly perfect! However, after installing Office 2021 in my MacBook Pro 2011 Monterey , whenever I select a line on word document to make it italic or so, the entire line gets totally unreadable behind the grey colored rectangle (created from Shift + )😢. Any clues?

did you find a way ? currently installed moterey on my mac late 2011 and now some downloaded softwares do not work like serato dj. ive been trying to reinstall the software but the same happens . so i wanna go back to high sierra or big sur or catalina . so what did you do ?

Restart your device and hold cmd+option+R then you will enter to a menu where you can install High sierra

Running Mojave in that machine is already painful in the first place (yea, I daily drove that exact mac as my audio production machine)
Was it a 15 inch? Just installed Catalina on mine, it was running very poor until I disabled the dedicated AMD gpu. After doing that it works just fine
@@xyz9162 no. I use the 13 inch. It's a bit painful to get Wi-Fi up and running
@@pnnytx For me it worked fine right after installing, running Monterey now, there are a few graphical glitches, except that it works super well for me
@@xyz9162 i have the exact same problem with you (updated then everything is slow,shitty graphics) is it mean my AMD GPU got some problem? How you disable it? Mine is also 15”
@@ivantongtromboneUse DosDude1's dGPU Disabler. Needed it on Catalina, also using it on Big Sur now, even tho the AMD GPU has no drivers by default.

so do the buildand install core on the flash drive and not the internal HDD?

@@actuallyaridan I did, I lose support on backlit on Ventura and it’s much slower and buggier on Ventura with plenty of graphical glitches
@@sonnyJLG666 Don't use Ventura, the newest you want on these old machines is Monterey.
Plus, you should have at least 8GB RAM and an SSD iwf you're going to use Mojave or newer.
@@actuallyaridan thank you and I learned that the hard way, hopefully I can upgrade the ram and put a new ssd to see some upgraded performance on Ventura once they have better support
@@sonnyJLG666 As I said, avoid Ventura. The GPUs in these old MacBooks can't handle Ventura. Keep to Monterey at max.

Modified vmx as directed. However, when power on, error 'Your computer restarted because of a problem. Press any key or wait for a few second to continue startup. Then it stuck at boot looping😒🙄😓
