Welcome to my review of the DX Shark Knuckle [シャークナックル] from Chosei Kantai Sazer X [超星艦隊セイザーX]!
Last time I took a look at the main Henshin Item from Sazer X, the Knuckle Cross. In general, I liked it even though it was clearly made to be a bit more disposable than anything Bandai would have made. As it turns out, there is also a toy of Shark Sazer's henshin item, the Shark Knuckle. Is it just another repaint, or is there something more to it?
The DX Shark Knuckle comes with four tiles (three of which are gold versions of the Lio, Eagle, and Beetle tiles).
It would be pretty easy to dismiss this as a crummy repaint of the original, but I do give it points on a few things. For starters, I loooove the blue chrome bezel which, I should point out, is completely different from the bezel on the Knuckle Cross. I kinda prefer the look of this one over the Knuckle Cross. The addition of the gold tiles was nice as it now has all four henshin sounds instead of just the Sazer Shark sound.
As it is similar to the Knuckle Cross, yeah, it does suffer some of the same shortcomings in quality. The chrome isn't beat up, though, which is a win. I do kind of wish the Strage Ring half of the changer was modified just a little bit from the one included with the Knuckle Cross.
I really couldn't give this one a better or worse score than the original Knuckle Cross. While the Shark Knuckle IS very similar to the Knuckle Cross, there is enough to it to warrant it's own release. I can think of far, far worse repaints out there...so this one wins. After not really liking the Inloaders from Justirisers, I would take these two any day.

It's always refreshing to see a review of something not made by Toei and Bandai. I really wish we could get more henshin hero programs made outside of Rider, sentai, and ultraman.
