I was in Gaugemasters Ford, yesterday, buying an R8077 express point ( so my LIMA class 40 can use the MPD/Locoshed. ) . I admired the latest releases on display (Turbomotive etc). Cheapest was a Railroad Range Mallard @ 150 quid. Dearest depends on the size of one’s wallet - 350 quid buys a nice A3 Scotsman with double tender! I will get more fun out of spending 50 quid on some parts at Tolwoth Train Show this coming weekend. The result will be a detailed Battle of Britain or West Country - its amazing what a lick of paint and a few transfers can accomplish! Once a year my pension goes up by 5% ( same as thousands of other people) then the Government takes back 2.5% in tax (same as thousands of others). That is why I enjoy your CZcams posts. Kindest regards.
Gaugemaster is epic, as long as you have a lottery win in your back pocket lol. The Railroad range now has too many add ons, they need to be below £100, of course when you are charging £300+ then £150 seems reasonable. Glad you enjoy what we do and thanks for watching and supporting
Great review Mike, really pleased to hear Metcalf recognised the value of your channel. Thanks for sharing this with us, as soon as i saw the thumbnail i thought, 'ohhh, that looks interesting for a kow relief factory building!'. I'll be having a look at that in OO,. Hopefully I've got enough space 🤞
Update … I ordered the kit to be shipped to the USA. Shipping is a bit of a premium but the finished product will be worth it. The ability to split the building in half to make two low relief sections is priceless. 😊
Wow, Metcalfe has all the options for a innovative creation of an N gauge back scene. Thanks for sharing this exciting kit. I have a switching layout that this would be a perfect addition; and yes, such versatility. Just love the extra brick sheet and other pieces. Metcalfe seems to understand the hobbyist 😀
Hi Mike that look's great! Not only is it a fine looking kit when it's finished it's a really nice thing to work on building Metcalfe kits.I would say 95% of my buildings are Metcalfe. But as you said you must take your time and read the instructions,i have tried to rush one before and that was a nightmare! But value for money and enjoyment you cant really go wrong.
Hi Mike, great review and agree on versatility, it really works well on that mini layout. I have cut their buildings in half to make low relief models - will save me some time. I will look up that pen for dealing with the white edges. An easy way is to use a 0.5mm HB propelling pencil and run it along, or for the red brick work I run in matching colour acrylic paint, a little more tricky! Their instructions are top notch, deviate from them at your peril. Also kits are really strong and durable due to the two or tree layers of lamination and reinforcing they use. Best regards Stephen
I must say that is a terrific effort from Metcalf! Superb options and even spare bits to adjust the model as you see fit, what more could you ask for? 🤔 I may even come to invest in one myself at some point as a warehouse backdrop for a works halt/foundry/urban MPD that I am toying around with. It will be OO so I am hoping much of the scenic section will be covered in one fell swoop! 😎 Oh, and good luck with the auction! Someone stands to get a right bargain there! 🤩 Cheers 👍🍀🍻
Absolutely. I think industrial type buildings are fairly similar the world over. Like I said, this Metcalfe building wouldn't look out of place anywhere in North America. Thanks for sharing. @@BudgetModelRailways
I really wish they hadn't discontinued the brewery. Managed to get my hands on a old battered brewery already made. Your new factory looks great and I will be on the lookout for one to build.
A good range of buildings - I use n gauge at the far side of the layout to add a perspective - I usually use Rocket card glue. I will probable get 2 of these in a corner site.
This kit was a little disappointing as I didn't build mine in "low relief" - I joined the two halves together and the roofs don't match up! (the lines on the "felt" roof don't line up. I had to replace my roof with a single piece of their "tarmac" card. Metcalfe apologise for this in their instructions and promise to sort this issue in a future print re-run.
Metcalfe isn't at all like Ikea. Metcalfe stuff is actually good. I'm sitting at an Ikea desk, and I can guarantee you, if Metcalfe made a desk at 1:1, it'd be a damned sight better than this thing.
Excellent video and a great product, well done metcalfe.
Good clear review Mike, a very useful industrial building from Metcalfe. I look forward to the new layout taking shape😎
Thanks

Thanks, it was certainly Taylor made for my layout

It can even pass for a German or Scandinavian building with the appropriate decals!
Absolutely
Great review Mike. I like the versatility of that building where you can have it as either full or low relief. - Nicholas.
Totally agree!

Get another one! Can’t wait to see it run the whole length of the back scene! And I am off to pick up a few for my OO layout! Great review 😊
Thanks, I am tempted
That does look like a good building to have on your layout.
Very neat and tidy.
Happy modelling
Mon
Many thanks
Versatile as per the instructions, and I'm sure even more so as a kit of parts for kit bashing. Brilliant. Cheers
Hi there I've done some metcarf kits and found that they are great I have more red brick and I used an old hard dead felttip pen for the corners
Great review😊👍
How versatile is that - Brill 👏🏻✨

Thanks, it's a great building
Hello what a great building, always handy to know when I'm doing 'N' gauge myself.with the pen it finishes it off and makes it smart.
Thanks 👍
I like this kit a great deal. It reminds me of many buildings not so far from my home in the mid-west US.
Interesting thought that it might have international use, I didn't think of that, good point

Must agree Metcalf's kits are good quality for the price, and being card easy to kit bash into something that fits your layout even better.
Totally agree!

I hoping to get one to review, thanks for confirming

Could be a school or office building as well
It has so many uses. It's identical to an office block I used to visit
Gosh! Flashback to the US Military Academy at West Point. Sure looks like some of the old buildings. Might have to get a couple and kit bash them.
Really how interesting
I hope they make this in TT 120, as it would look good on my layout.
No plans for TT apparently.
@@BudgetModelRailways give it time.
@@trevorbell3571 I suspect they will wait to see if it takes off or not. Jury is out at present, with some retailers already discounting it
Would be great if it was in normal red brick too 🙂 thank you for reviewing it
Perhaps if enough people ask. Personally I think red brick is a bit over done
Do Metcalfe still recommend spraying with a clear lacquerer once built?
Not that I know of, not sure why you would?

Lol 😆 excellent
Wich escale ? This IS for me!!!;
Both N and OO gauge
@@BudgetModelRailways yes I see on first d+seconds N scale. I seems and old industri on my city at train station !!!!
One of my buildings fell out the loft and no damage at all. They are really solid. Rocket glue is the best I think.
Thanks for the video review, this is a great asset to Metcalfe range and probably will buy. Have they said how much it will cost!!😎🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🇬🇧
