Back in the day, sailing Mexico, when I conversed with world travelers, I would ask their favorite places to sail. It was interesting to note how often Turkey was mentioned.

I enjoyed your illustrated sailboat discussion. I love it when the tall ships come into Coos Bay, Oregon. We had a 32' Atkins design ferro-cement sloop fhat we sailed with the Baja Haha XII, or was it XIII, in 2006.

Oh geez I love Venison and only order it in restaurants where it has been farm raised. After researching the illness post venison meal, I am fairly certain I now know what caused the illness. I will stay tuned for the next TWiP to see if my conclusion is correct. Bottom line now I need to make sure the chef cooks it properly I guess. Thanks TWiP team for all you do😎

To the first Vienna parasite club, Ascaris has a life span of about 1 year. Your patient appears to have a food source that is contaminated with human feces (or from pigs) either his/her own or someone elses.
This should probably be reported to the health care officials, as other people could be infested.

Hehe I came home from Vietnam Nam and China with ascaris, it presented while I was in nursing school, I got extra credit in A&P for my project on it. Looking back I had funny symptoms when I was infected, I’d wake up in the middle of the night gagging after dinner of spicy shabu shabu and sake 😳

The Wriggler. Wasn't that a bad guy on the old BATMAN television series (1960's)?
    No, wait...

Helmintic infections are not a sign of poverty. Malnutrition only exacerbates symptoms and makes them more obvious.

Ehm human to human soil transmitted helminths are largely in areas of poverty.
In a developed area, the best you can usually pick up is strongy, and even then someone has to defecate on the ground.
