- Coverage of the wedding of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips on 14th November 1973 from abc. You can see them taking their vows, along with some gorgeous shots of Anne in her dress while the anchor struggles to describe it! The footage really shows how 'medieval' royal weddings were, even in the seventies! All very old fashioned service-wise, but a beautiful wedding nonetheless. I've always adored her dress (and I bet she could still fit into it today).

Princess Anne’s dress has always been and will always be. There’s just something about it. So elegant, yet simple. It fits her perfectly and I think she looked wonderful. A beautiful wedding if you ask me. The dress is sheer perfection.

@@thornbird6768 why? I used to dislike this dress but after watching the video of the wedding I seemed to have appreciated the gown a bit more. Mostly it’s because the gown is unique compared to Grace Kelly’s wedding dress.

Princess Anne was a beautiful bride and Capt. Mark Phillips was a handsome groom. I remember when the royal wedding was announced on the evening news. I was in fifth grade that year. The attendants were Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jone and Prince Edward. They're close to my age. That was so long ago and time really flies.

I wouldn't say beautiful, she has no chin to speak of and the teeth of an equine, but she has got charm which is even better and ages well. And a very sexy voice.

I liked her dress because it was a departure from the typical 'froo' 'froo' wedding dress. It was sleek and elegant. It enhanced her figure and did not distract your attention from her. From what I understand Princess Ann is pretty down to earth, so it stands to reason that her taste in dress would be down to earth. She was also minimalist in her make-up which is refreshing. I am an American so I do not understand all the pomp and circumstance, but from I understand, the people of England seem to like her and favor her. From what I understand, this marriage ended and she remarried someone who has stood by her for the duration. That is good.
