Shrek 2 is still my favorite out of all of them!

My thoughts on this ranking:
10. Yes, the Bad Reputation and the WWE references were definitely epic
9. Yes, the animation (and of course, the story) were absolutely out of this world with this legacy sequel
8. Honestly, with the lack of jokes in this scene, I found it to be very meh in the grand scheme of things
7. Seeing that spark of hope in the tonally dark (and appropriately so) Shrek Forever After was certainly a sweet moment in the story
6. I still refuse to watch this musical, knowing that it completely misses the point of Shrek as a whole being contra Disney fairy tales
5. A badass moment which showcases perfectly how Fiona is not your ordinary princess
4. Fun little escape sequence, with a fun song to boot
3. The most iconic endings to any animated movies bar none, still in love with these scenes to this day 😁
2. A meme fest filled with tons of classic family drama jokes, ending with the iconic exclamation "Donkey!"
HM: The mocking of Charming was one of the few enjoyable moments in Shrek The Third, Fiona singing until the bird explodes is a fun character moment in Shrek, "Do The Roar" was a hilarious way of showing Shrek's frustration, and Welcome to Dulac is a true knee slapper
1. One of the most perfect songs mixed with the original Shrek score and an excellent action sequence; there's a reason why it is so iconic

The most iconic moment is definitely Fairy Godmother singing "Holding Out for a Hero", while Mongo the giant Gingerbread Man stalks around. Simply unforgettable!

"Pray For Mercy From PUSS ... In Boots" is definitely one of my most favorite moments from the Shrek franchise and I'm glad he became my favorite character since childhood.
Yeah, Antonio Banderas has WAY too much fun with his character!
Especially the scene in Shrek II when Donkey starts drinking the potion: Shrek: “How do you feel?” Donkey:” I don’t feel any different. Do I look any different?” Puss: “You still look like an ass to me”
I would have definitely added the Big Bad Wolf's introduction in Puss in Boots 2. Or his battle with puss, he was utterly terrifying!!!

The best moment for me was when Puss was in the cave reflecting his past live, and then one of them basically said "you're trapped in your" and immediately Death arrives and finishes with "fear". That transition was so amazing and it needs to be talked about more often. (ps: I'm not 100% sure of how the dialogue went, I haven't watched it in English)

The "Holding Out For A Hero" by Bonnie Tyler scene in Shrek 2 has got to be one of if not the best animated movie scenes of all time.
Jennifer Saunders' performance was just so stellar.

The Animation of Puss in Boots 2, the camera angles it so detailed! And the story is God tier!

just love how Shrek, Donkey and Puss in Boots make it out of Fairy Godmother's house, avoiding the guards, and tipping over the pot full of potion that transforms all of the guards into birds, while grabbing the Happily Ever After potion.

These Shrek moments are certainly unforgettable. Seems they will remain as our ultimate favorites.
I think we can all agree the fairy godmother singing “holding out for a hero” is the most iconic moment of dream works period.
The fact that the only movie that doesn’t get a mention is the first puss in boots movie gets me sad

There are so many epic and badass moments in the Shrek franchise and if it wasn't for them these movies wouldn't have become as iconic as they are today!
Ok, I hoped it would be in the honorable mentions or somewhere in the upper ranks bc Puss in Boots 2 is mentioned for the animation, but no mention of the chilling whistle of death or the panic attack Puss has because of it? I really would have liked seeing it on the list :(

I mean... everyone knows what number 1 is going to be. That scene is literally a modern cinematic classic moment.
When Shrek is depressed and I Need Some Sleep sounds it hits hard
I can understand how Shrek feels, wanting to be alone and in peace, yet everyone keeps annoying him...even not respecting his privacy, and he just gets annoyed, because everyone is pressuring him at his kids' birthday party, which I do not really enjoy, except for Butter Pants wanting him to "do the roar"; that is so funny. So no wonder Shrek even does a roar, so then it impresses Butter Pants, but it was also annoying because everyone was complaining to Shrek: Butter Pants, the Three Little Pigs, Lillian, Donkey, Pinocchio, and his kids crying. And when Shrek splats the cake, I was just entirely shocked!
Y'all should've put more moments from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish on this list. That whole movie goes HARD.

For me, perfect example of this is the song "Fearless Hero" from The Last Wish. That song goes so hard and they really didn't need to. Though the whole movie itself is like that,
The Gingerbread Latte vs. the Gingerbread boy and the Muffin man scenes in this whole franchise are absolute comedic gold, in my book.
I cannot express how Happy I am to see The Freak Flag Fly Number on this list. The Banished Fairytale characters singing about their differences and unique traits while planning to stand up to Farquadd might be cheeky on paper, but it's the Massive Variety of Characters and Les Miserables' like Flag that makes this Musical Number worth rewatching.
I just can't agree with this. They left off the smashmouth opening AND Snow white's battle cry in lue of that and the overall animation for puss in boots? I just can't do it. This list is so ass.

49: I love Fiona taking down Robin Hood and the Merry Men. Man, she’s a badass

This video should have waited for Puss in Boots 2 - the Wolf easily deserved to appear on this list for his intro fight scene, the reveal of his identity in the cave of lost souls, and his final fight with Puss.

Thank YOU so much for mentioning Shrek The Musical in this list. I have been in this show twice this past summer as Scarecrow in the Fairytale Creature Ensemble and Freak Flag is the best number in the whole show in my opinion. I’d argue that Freak Flag should be in the top 3 along with the musical numbers in Shrek & Shrek 2 & Holding Out For A Hero.

Just Death in general from The Last Wish. So chilling, so relatable, so damn poignant, so strangely fun.

I feel like another honourable mention should’ve been Ballad of Farquaad from Shrek the Musical. It might not reach the heights of some other villain songs, but it’s still hilarious in its own right, and it only becomes funnier when you find out what actually happened to Farquaad at the end of the show.

Shrek 2's "I Need a Hero" is the definitive version of the song for me, and I dare anyone to challenge me on that.
Shrek's opening scene, Shrek and Donkey saving Fiona from the Dragon's keep, and Puss' introduction should have been on the list. Also, no introduction of Death from Puss in Boots: the Last Wish? You've already included the film's "purr-fect animation"... I'm surprised the part with Charming rallying the fairytale villains is in the list.. It's not even that much of a memorable scene
