Speed is not necessary, what you need is good velocity -Keith warren, 2017.
When he said that I was like wait what
Forgot the penetration?
wow what a conundrum is it not the same thing
i think he means the oomph of the heavier pellet
i think you have some explaining to do!!!! speed=velocity WHAT YOU NEED IS GOOD DOWN RANGE ENERGY.
I’ve been using h&n crow magnum pellets for the rabbit hunting I do and it is definitely my favorite pellet so far for my .25 hatsan break barrel.
is your air rifle a airtact hatson mine is
"A lot of pellet rifles brag about the speed in which they send the projectile downrange, but speed is not necessarily the great thing for the kill... You want good velocity" - Velocity means speed.
I think he meant momentum.
Yeaa
Actually they're not the same thing. Speed is a scalar representation of velocity, which is a vector. In simple terms, speed is the magnitude of velocity.
You want more force rather than velocity. F=MA. Larger grain pellet equals more mass. On a 22 air rifle with an average 15.4 grain pellet, the force is about 40 ft lbs. Pick a rifle capable of delivering a 15.4 grain pellet at over 900 fps and you can kill a coyote with a head shot if you can get him under 50 yards. The heavier pellet is more accurate and lethal but has a shorter accuracy and force range due to its rapid deceleration from mass.
I agree! I like your air rifle hunting videos! I did an 18-page report to the state of Ohio last March after watching so many of your and other's air rifle hunting videos in other states. Thank you for the great, practical information. Not to mention, being outdoors, afield and enjoying the whole package. Can't wait to get enough therapy on my hip replacement to join y'all afield once more. But with air rifles and my sons this time!
The Eye Trick is perfect, thanks.
No nonsense airgun rabbit hunting for the dinner table. Great video.
Love the air rifle stuff man!!! I just recently got into it and I have already bought 2 air rifles... Please keep the videos coming thanks and god bless!!!
Thanks!
Keith Warren can you please suggest me what gamo rifle should I buy that is good powerful long range killer and under 250$ please reply iam so confuse
Gamo air rifles are the best I have had
Save up a little more and get yourself a Hatsan At44S-10 or a Benjamin marauder. Get a .22 up to 50 yds otherwise get a .25 cal
@Zombie Killer I suggest you do more research. Plenty of guys are shooting small game with air rifles out to 100 yards.
I really love this airgung hunting videos please more.
Love it! Great video Keith
Great video 🙂👍. I'm amazed you could hit anything with that scope sliding back, lol🙂👍
I love how you use spring air rifles to success.
Awesome video I love watching you
Dome pellets are by far the most accurate and just as deadly to small game. I've found that none of those hollow point pellets acually do expand effectively on small game. The rifles themselves aren't pushing the pellets a great enough velocities. Yes, you will see some expansion in ballistic gel or clay. But lets face it, by the time a pellet passes through a squirrel or rabbit's head there's not enough tissue or time for significant expansion. It's not like a firearm bullet traveling at supersonic speeds. Besides, I've been using dome pellets for hunting small game for many years and I don't recall any target recovering and escaping after taking a pellet through the computer. In the eye? I think you mean between the eye and ear. You can pass a pellet through the eyes amd completely miss the brain.
I love these Barracuda Extreme's I use them in my Benjamin Marauder 22 cal and 25 cal...they are destroyers no doubt
awesome video!
Sir I am ur #1 fan
Good .I like your rabbit hunting .
Wow! Love it!
Keith that was impressive! I started watching you when you first took two Texas hogs with a suppressed rifle shooting them both behind the ears. Then I saw you do in a hog in Arkansas with a shot between the eyes with the air rifle. But the time you took the hog with the big 10 mm auto has shown me that you can shoot!
🐗
Me too i started watching his vids after the 2hog-kills
Hello dear how are you doing today happy new year 🎆 god bless you as you wished..
Love the Air rifle videos Keith. May need to pick you up a .25 Benjamin!
Thanks! Glad you enjoy the show!
I bought a Benjamin Trail NP XL725 .25cal. That thing hits so hard it keeps knocking apart/down my backstop when I was doing chronograph tests. I use a Staples econo storage box packed with junk mail and four-1 inch thick pieces of Styrofoam insulation board. Nothing has shot through it yet, but the .25 cal's knock it over. So the Benji Trail XL725 hits really hard for small to medium-size game.
Thinking of getting one of them. But I'm a GAMO guy. Do you recommend
I like your videos I subbed
Congratulations, my friend, I'm also a fan of air gun hunting.
Hey Keith, Have you checked out the Gamo Swarm Maxxim? if so please let me know what you think about this particular air rifle. thanks
Nice video
There's corn scattered all along the side of the that road lol.. nice shot..
Fried rabbit and gravy are a fine meal.
Hi Keith. can you tell me your thoughts on pcp rifles?
keep up the good work
Probably he meant speed is not necessary but energy joules is the most the mass of the pellet
verry nice gun....
Would a .22 cal hollow point be good?
Between Gamo socom extreme and Dianna ar8 which one is better?
keith karren what do you prefer a 177 or a 22
Good Instructional Videos. But, When Are You Going To Do A Review On A Gamo Shadow Whisper .177 Break Barrel?
Thanks for the vid Keith. Do you not go for heart/lung shots with air rifles? I've never bothered with air rifles before, so I have no idea how much real world punch they pack compared to the firearms I'm used to using. I've just got my first one (a "1,000fps" Norica in a .177 calibre) and I don't want to be taking shots that are just going to wound an animal. Thanks.
I lung shot one tonight with 1200fps no problem dropped dead after 10 or 12 feet of runnning
.177 cal
177. go for the head
If you are using a sufficiently powerful airgun and pellet combo, you will not have to worry about a good kill.
I tried to go for a heart/lung shot once, and it doesn't kill them right away. Head shots are better and more humane.
hi Mr warren, here in South Africa when need some one like u to help keeping air rifle hunting alive and to help with tips ....good stuff Mr Warren
Nowt wrong with gammo rifles I got .22 gammo rocket 1 it's accurate first time out two pheasants two rabbits found it spot on ........
Keith Warren can you please do a review and hunt video with the Ruger air hawk . 177cal ???
.22 call The rifle
The ruger air hawk is (JUNK)! There are far better air rifles that are in mass production you could buy for your money. Do yourself a favor! If your going to buy any ruger air rifles buy the newish .22 cal ruger has come out with. I have one and shoots great.
@@marymaynor3345 there are so many reviews that say other wise. Maybe your air hawk was defective or something. I have one and I use H&N terminator pellets and does perfectly fine on rabbits. Idk what your talking about..
Sirve el gamo igt Magnum para la liebre?
Want to buy and airgun. Confused with Diana ar8 and Gamo roadster Gen 2. need help
super gun model & price?
What distance would you say you were shooting at?
Quick install
Please sir need your views for walther parrus .22
I want to see the swarm maxxim in action
what do you mean by good velocity? how much it should be according to u
Velocity and speed is the same thing and you want at least 950 FPS
does .177 work too?
Which is the best air gun to hunt hog and it's Price
Got Diana stromrider .177 air rifle. can I hunt rabbit with it??
What is the weight of the pellet
Hi Keith, I have a webley eclipse 22 and am having a problem finding a scope which will stand the double recoil kick of a springer any suggsetions , cost needs to be comsidered. Any help would be appreciated. Regards
I know you commented 2 month's ago asking your question but I'm going to answer it now for you even though I'm sure you've already figured it out by now. The cost of the scope really doesn't matter as long as you get a scope rated for springer air rifles. There are many out on the market but I'm sure the cheapest your going to find for a air rifle will be just over $100.00. Mine was $104.00 and It's a Tesco scope that's spot on. The one thing you need to know is it takes at least 500 shots through your air rifle to break it in to hold zero so don't give up on what ever scope you buy just because it will not hold zero at first. Good luck and I hope I helped.
Look at pyramyd air. Pretty much everything there is airgun rated.
I have a Centerpoint 4-16x40 illuminated reticle scope on my Gamo Whisper Swarm 10X that works great. And is airgun rated. Even if it were to shake the electronics to death its still a solid zoomabke scope with objective adjustment and more.
What model is your airgun?
super air gun model & price?
Need to get myself a good air rifle
no dought
Good job😃
Where can I get one of those from
Would a 177. Pellet work

I recently got the crosman phantom hunter .177, i was just wondering if its ok for hunting rabbits.

John Hunter ok. I was afraid i couldnt use my air rifle for hunting
I want to buy an airgun for hunting small game. should i get a .22 or a .25 caliber. i have had .177 and .22 before and know i dont want .177
Nothing wrong with .177 with a hight fps
What are doing pellet... name hunting

Sir air gone delivery hum ko chhahie
hey Keith i am a new shooter can tell me what type of scope did you put on Diana Ar8
What is faster velocity or speed lol
Sir i am a 13 years old boy and i want start hunting with break barrel rifles what do you recomend me im thinking in a gamo 1000 or a walther terrus
How much are they
Which gun is this
Keith Warren. Great job. I will ask the same thing as others. Best Gamo with price under 200. Plz respond
I'd recommend you check out the Diana AR8. It's a great air rifle for the money.
Gamo is absolute junk, spring guns take a special technique to shoot accurately. I would recommend one of the sub $300 pcp's to start.I have a Benjamin maximus 22cal, benjamin hand pump, 3x9x32 utg bug buster, and scope, also a airgun silencer, also a umarex gauntlet .22 would be a great start. Once you shoot a pcp you never go back. My beeman r9 used to be my go to gun. I have not shot it in 2 years now since I have a pcp. I reccomend pyramid air.com for all your needs.
I've shot a few in the chest and I've came to the conclusion that it doesn't really matter. Some dropped immediately, most of them sat there for 15-30 seconds and then slumped over and died. The only one that ran was one that wasn't hit well. It seems almost as if they accept their fate if they know they've been fatally struck. All shots done with 14 fpe .177 air rifle.
PAW the smaller the caliber the more precise you have to be, plus 14fpe in a .177 should be headshots only, from my experience
AirgunnerCA That is true. I shoot them in the head now, I just wanted to know what would happen with heart/lung shots with a smaller caliber air rifle, so I put it to the test. Typically though I don't like to aim for the eye because it isn't always a fatal shot from an angle and is less forgiving, if it goes forward just a nudge you could have a rabbit shot through the nose running around. I prefer the below the ear shot, if it goes forward a little bit, it hits the eye, if it goes back it will hit the spine. If it hits right on, the rabbit is stone dead.
Hey keith what's up?
What's price this gun
What your price
Hey Keith what happened to the Gamo air rifles. 🙈
They stopped sponsoring him so he stopped using them 😂
vry nic i love it sir
Thanks Hisan!
RIP wolf
Can I use the 177 air for rabbit hunting as well?
No it’s too small
who rifle is?
Hey Mr.Warren
I recently got a Gamo Whisper G2 and I wanna go hunt some hogs
Will that work?
Damn. I didn’t know a air rifle could be that accurate.
When I was 16 years old in 1968 my friends and I each had a “Crossman 760” and every fall we went rabbit hunting. The use of a pellet didn’t do it for us, so the “BB” was the killer for us. To kill the rabbit it was best done by the kill to the head or neck. Once I st a rabbit in the belly and the BB bounced off and hit me in my leg and it hurt. I would come home with 2 or 3 rabbits and my father would skin it then we check the live, if it had black dot then the rabbit was unhealthy to eat. I would tan the hide and make a winter rabbit hat and gloves to help keep warm, these were the best years of my life.
I have rabbits on my property but I don't know anything about hunting
@@UpVade before you hunt, make sure your within the law. your back yards is in city limites i would chek. if you live in the country outside city imitd check with states laws. In Ohio it okay to hunt rabbits on your properity in the country but only in the fall season. as for learning hunt to hunt I just walked through woods softly and when I spoked a rabbit i would throw a rock before it and when he stops to check it out I shoot him, but you have to be fast.
@@dr.johnpaul7374 Thanks for the advice. I do not live in the US but I will check out local laws, Cheers
We as humans are the most dangerous predator on this planet. I like to keep it that way lol
Hey Keith could you make your videos longer
Would you recommend this round for hogs
What is the price of this rifle in $
I'm new to hunting. What's the point of shooting predators if they are not edible?
Most predators are edible, but only some tast good like cougars or bears, but other uses would be as a trophy or for a pelt
Why did you stop using gamo airifles
THENUTCRACKER 33 They suck
Diana rws 350 magnum is the best
How are you so acurate every time i scope in it shoots somewhere else
Gabriel Perez sounds like your scope is not lined up.
It could be two things the gun isn't broken in yet or possibly the scope and third sorry for 3 is possibly your artillery hold
Sir How many gr are these pellers?
16
What is the model of this Air Arms air rifle?
Diana AR8 from Pyramyd Air
does this have a 10 pellet magazine? I don't see it in the product description. thanks for answering my questions.
I have a stoeger x20 s2 .is it good for rabbit hunt?
.22 cal and .177 will both do the job at 800fps and over
@@norcoatomik1 thanks
@@aliakbar4645 no problem i use a 7.4grain it works fine even on a heart and lung shot ... well it worked fine yesterday i took the nose off a rabbit with the bow because a twig deflected my arrow so i went back to the beginning of my trail and grabbed my AirRifle found the same rabbit chased him around for a minute before i got the chance to shoot and i took a lung shot just behind the front legs i was at a 45 degree angle behind it 30 maybe 40 yards away he ran maybe 10 feet and dropped not even a scream or any kicking and thats with a .177 cal
@@norcoatomik1 good. Brother tell me where are you from. I am from Pakistan.
