I'm currently learning Yorkshire dialect but the older version which had been spoken by most locals until the 1950s. It's a fascinating linguistic gem with so many loanwords and grammatical structures borrowed from Old Norse.

what dya mean by learning it? Studying for school? A yorkshire local trying to discover their roots?
I'm 29 and have live here all my life and am quite broad but do want to see a revival in the strength of the dialect

No. It is clearly "English", not Scots. It's an English "accent" in the literal sense, it's not a language of its own.

When reading the comments below, it seems there is virtually NO variety of ENGLISH on planet Earth that hasn't been "influenced" or even has "grown out" of the Yorkshire dialect. That's ridiculous. Let's agree and acknowledge that the Yorkshire dialect is a quite isolated, marginalized variation of English, as the area is where it is spoken.
