  • Last year I noticed that one captive nut missing and one turning where the fuel pump fits into the tank Also it was weeping fuel from around that area.
Plucked up enough courage to attempt removal of the spinning nut without needing to buy another tank and check the fuel filters.

Lovely to see you tinkering, as you say - the joys of owning a 20 year old bike 🤗. Really looking forward to seeing you out on it again, 🤞the weather improves soon. Also nice to know that I’m not the only one with a bike in the front hall 😂. LOL Simone :) 🧙‍♀️

It's too cold out in the Garage especially with snow on the ground. I would not have been aloud to bring them in when my wife was alive.

Hi, I didn’t think you would have 😊. Though my mother would have insisted and been right at the side of me too showing me just how to do the job properly. Just watched your hub video, I’d missed the notification on that one. I’ve just acquired a 2006 S2R 800 with just 6000 miles, would you recommend me to remove the rear hub to check it’s okay?

Always best to check, the hardest bit will be undoing the rear wheel @230Nm with a 55mm socket. Basically the same hub, and standing not doing the miles is worse than driving them hard. Saying that I had no problem with the hub on my M796

Thank you for your advice, which I will certainly act on 😊. It isn’t registered yet, being a Japanese import, but is in exceptional condition. I’ll keep you updated. LOL Simone :) 🧙‍♀️

Best check the Timing belts as well before you ride it

Kind of brave checking for a petrol leak with the bike in the hall overnight...??? 20 years is nothing....my old girl will be MOT exempt next year...one careful owner...me ...😄 What's a PowerCommander 😀😀 Just kidding... (My 'everyday user' car is 26 years old, which I've owned since 2004)

I have confidence in my work I knew it would not leak ,otherwise it would have been done in the Garage. Health & Safety what's that.

When you said in the video, I thought to myself 'Roy knew full well that wasn't going to leak' 🙂
