A trip along the A698
A trip to take in the views but true to British weather not conducive for making videos. It is the same road my rear wheel bearings gave up on last year.
Caught in the act. White Fiat driver throws out a Banana skin on a tight corner. As if people on two wheels have enough hazards to look out for.

The Abba Skylift stand was a great investment I am well pleased with it and it enabled me to do the Headstock Bearings and removal of front wheel with no problems.

A trip along a little used road passing by the Weardale Ski Club. The longest lift served Ski Run in England. The mention of Smoke from my bike is because it previously was blowing smoke from the exhaust on acceleration and only doing 20mpg. It was the first run after re installing the map for the Power Commander which has brought the MPG back to 32.

I remember riding to work in thick snow and ice in the '70's (nothing as bad as that) I was in my teens and stupid...but how else was I going to get there? It was too far to walk and the buses were in the depots....taxi's were unheard of then outside of major cities...and were for rich people not a young lad trying to get to work... Thankfully I have only ever rode in freezing fog once when I was 16 and had my Parka and a pair of jeans on... I vowed never to do that again.... Trust you are keeping well Roy! RSM8

Just starting to catch up on your videos as an old man with a little ducati and a still newish CZcams channel, myself . I film most of my videos around many of the same roads, though I lean toward the Morpeth Rothbury Carter Bar side of Northumberland and the Borders. I also happen to desire a MV F4 1000, though I prefer the sports bike version. It's not the most comfortable, but it's classic Tamburini and the glow of having that MV badge on the tank. The damage to my rear Hub bearing was . Lack of Maintenance by previous owners and being stored for many years only doing 6000 miles in 18 years. Service not done as promised when I bought it plus they Overtightened the chain on which I rode 100 miles to get home after purchasing the bike. I would suggest Lube the bearings once a year although the ball bearing may be sealed in which case you are unable to do so. Damage to he hub occurs when the ball bearing collapses and the bolts on the spindle cut into the hub. Take the weight off the rear wheel not on the paddock stand and see if any movement on the wheel when shaking it. If any signs at all change the bearings immediately do not wait and think I will do it later.

Been looking forward to seeing what thought after a year. All sounds good except for the mpg. “If you like a bike and want it, you go and get it don’t you “ - absolutely 💯. I recently acquired a 24 year old Daytona 955 which returned 41mpg but have now got that to 47mpg with a little TLC. Still a bit of a shock to the system after 70 mpg from my SV650. Fortunately I kept the SV so can ride either, depending on how I’m feeling 😊. Glad that you’re enjoying the MV. Blessings from Lancashire 🧙‍♀️.

The only other annoying thing is where the rear brake reservoir is located at the back of the engine. Next service I will make a bracket and move to where it is accessible and the level can be seen without the removal of the fuel tank.

    • @simonelomax7465

Had a similar experience with the SV. On that they’d put it under the pillion seat but so close to the rear subframe rail that you needed a small long ended funnel or small tube ended bottle to top it up; but worse than that you couldn’t check the level properly without removing the cap 🤷‍♀️. Needless to say that was quickly replaced with one that was easily accessible and could be checked at a glance 😊.

That road with all the potholes looked a bit sketchy! I managed to 'pop' a fork seal in Wales a couple of weekends ago when the whole width of the road had the top two inches of tarmac missing! So it ended up being an expensive weekend. What was the town at the 19 minute mark?

Well, it would be 'interesting' to know exactly what that dealership actually does do on a service...they didn't change the oil or filter, didn't change the cruddy spark plugs, didn't change the manky brake fluid what did they do apart from overtighten the rear chain? I bet they only did that because it was too bloomin loose to leave the workshop. Have to say I can beat that on the brake fluid. Mine had sat idol for years prior to 2016 for a number of years, for various reasons I won't go into, I rode it to the MOT station (only a couple of miles) with no front brake. The lad that sorted it out said the fluid had turned to a jelly like substance 😲. I've also seen a video on here where it turned to powder😲I'm sure you'll get it all sorted Roy. @@oldblokeonaducati.8365 Well they did lube the chain, and take it for an MoT . That explains it...they were 'frightened' it would fail the MOT. You and I both know they never got anywhere near taking the tank off... If you say to someone 'We'll service and MOT it before you collect it...at least change the oil if nothing else. When I went to collect my bike from the MOT (following the brake fluid incident) I said to him 'Have you done something to the throttle it seems much smoother?' Yeh I had to strip it down, it was sticking when you released it, and it was a 'Fail' on the MoT....not a mention of it on the invoice. Sadly, the workshop he used was at the rear of a bike shop that did MoT's and they've closed down. Amongst the paperwork there is a sticker from Race Lab suspension specialists based near to where the bike was supplied new, and I am guessing it has been uprated for the track as I have backed everything back to soft settings.
