Glad someone else has at least some sort of morbid affinity for “mournful camaraderie.” Its such a pathetic last cry of lucidity and the last time we can barely make out arguably the most important melodic motif in the entire project. I dread it and love it at the same time.

@@mo2cubing It's because for some reason the true B3 sample is heavilly protected by copyright in comparison to other tracks so if Kirby used it then Eateot could be taken down from CZcams, which is also why there isn't a official individual stage 1 upload unlike the other 5 stages

As someone who has listened to a lot of noise/experimental music and am ofen confused by people not liking things I don't find to be that challenging, the beginning of stage 4 is legitimately one of the few times music has made me uncomfortable. It's like so incredibly abrasive and disturbing with like, no direction and so many awkward sounds. To me it seems like it was meant to be the most difficult part, probably because the first parts of post awareness are the worst since later on you won't be as aware of your lack of awareness.

It's those disjointed "trumpet" sounds that get to me. The instruments themselves sound like they're poking their heads above water, trying not to get drowned by the sea of noise.

B3 actually has 2 versions, the one you reviewed is the youtube version (litterally E8) while the widely accepted "true" version is on bandcamp due to inconsistent copyright claims from the sample owner
C2 just feels like sad work montage in an old cartoon. Like you’d see the character walk there, do some boring factory stuff, go back home, eat, sleep and then repeat. Love it.

I've seen quite a few people confuse B3 for E8 because B3 was replaced by E8 in the complete EATEOT video uploaded by the Caretaker due to some copyright strikes, or something like that. The original B3 is quite good in my opinion, and it's too unfortunate that it couldn't make the final cut.

My scatterbrain dozed off during stage 6 and wandered during stage 5, but I did sorta listen to it in 1 sitting like how it's meant to be so I'm happy with myself but still want to revisit the post-awareness stages.
One of the beutiful things about the album is how the more you listen to it, the more details you notice, and the more details you notice, the more you enjoy and are intrigued with the album.
I was entirely zoned-out during Stages 3, but zoned back in as soon as Stage 4 started and I noped the heck out of there.
A week or so later I finished listening to the rest of the project. Tbh, Stage 5 and 6 are a bit of a slog to get through.
