Remembering the '94 Tribe. They were a shoe-in for the wild-card and probably would have won it all that year. They had the same team as '95 with Martinez and Hershiser both a year younger. Then the strike. :-(
'95 Tribe was a monster. Except pitching. Martinez, 40. Hershiser, 39 and Nagy against Maddox, Glavine and Smoltz in their prime. 1 HOFer against 3. Good pitching beats good hitting every time.
Watched this year's team intently. My thought was IF they could get by the Yankees in the first round they'd win it. Though they won the season series 5-2 the Yankees played them tough. When they lost I was crushed. Lifetime Tribe fan here. Browns. Cavaliers. I feel the pain, too. The Cav's win was great, but a Tribe win would be over the top. Ex-pat living in Wellington, NZ. Will be buried with my Chief Wahoo hat.

I had no idea at the time, but I was at game #2 of "The Streak". I was actually debating selling my ticket because they were dealing with so many injuries at that point, plus I have my own health issues I'm battling. I live 150 miles away, so I wasn't real sure about making the 2 and 1/2 hour drive up there, sitting for 3 to 4 hours, then making the return trip home. I'm sure glad my mom talked me into going, because I can tell everyone that I witnessed something historical. I am hoping to hear Hammy (radio announcer Tom Hamilton for those who aren't familiar with nicknames) about a month from now yelling... "BALLGAME! THE TRIBE HAS WON THE WORLD SERIES!!!" i just got back from the cardinals game where their streak ended at 17. the atmosphere reminded me so much of this one. people were buzzing. i wanted to see the crowd go crazy over a win but secretly hoping they would lose to keep the streak here in CLE. I was at wins 16 and 18 for the Tribe's streak. That streak got me through some REALLY tough moments in my life. Was the only thing to look forward to. I"m saddened that the Indians no longer exist but so happy for the recent memories. We were by FAR the best team in baseball that year but the gods just weren't on our side. Sadly everything went away pretty quickly due to a lot of different things but being at the Cardinals game tonight brought back alot of memories. Andrew Miller even pitched and seeing him really set things in. He was far form his '16-'17 self. Gave up a homer. but just seeing that pitching motion, in the midst of what was going on kind of made me emotional. I get sappy and romantic about baseball. Seeing how the Indians are no more, this streak is our only mark on the sport. I hope they retain it forever and I'm so fucking happy i got to see it happen. Long Live The Tribe.

My favorite AL team the indians had such an identical season as the Oakland A's did in 2002 (when Oakland won 20) and also the Indians lost in round 1 3 - 2 to NY Yankees... Fabulous season

Yea i aint too upset man. The Tribe returns 95% of the 2017 team in 2018. Gonna be another long season for Indians opponets, my YT friends. Dont know that they'll win 100 games again, it was only the THIRD time the Indians won 100 in...what 117 seasons or so? Doesnt matter, they will sling it and bash it! Again.

The 1916 NY Giants had a TIE after 12 games in their 26 game streak.

I predicted back in 2017 in the midst of this all out physical, mental and emotional drive for the record winning streak that my Indians would be somewhat exhausted , flat , some players nursing minor injuries and muscle strains etc and sub par and lose in the first playoffs and sadly I was vindicated . It was so stupid , so ignorant , because cleveland had a great chance to be in the world series . I blame management , owner , major shareholders and commercial sponsors .

20:29 was so awesome!! He took a chance and ran his butt off to get to second. My gosh, Jose is one of the most fun ballplayers I've had the pleasure of watching in a LONG time. I love that guy!!! If you get a chance find the longer version where the crowd starts chanting "Jose jose jose" after that play, I got goosebumps it was SOOOO awesome. I just can't get my hopes up again but I love this team so much. I wish them the best this post season

In late August another couple asked me look for tickets for a September game. They preferred a Friday night, but my schedule made Thursday my only option. That was long before the streak was getting interesting. Little did I know it would be historic game 22.
I felt like a hex since we were trailing with two outs in the 9th. When Lindor made that hit to tie it-the stadium went bonkers. Winning it in the 10th has to be my greatest in-person sports experience. I started videoing when Jay Bruce came up to win it (must have felt it in my bones).

One of my favorite Indians clubs of all time. On a side note the 2017 Cleveland Indians had the objectively and statistically best pitching staff of all time in all of baseball. There was never a better pitching staff by Wins above replacement. Cleveland hurls.
