Thank you for this video. The gh6 is my best camera. Iâve rigged it out perfectly - it makes me money. The only setback was the black mamba cage. I stopped rigging it out. I kept looking for other cage options but couldnât see any Thank you for drawing attention to the neewer cage. I almost decided to switch cameras because of the black mamba limited 2 port connections. This is such a useful thing to me I need that 3 point connection cage to build up the rig without wobble and getting loose
If I was in the market for a new cage, then the Neewer would be at the top of my list. However when I bought my cages, Smallrig was the only game in town. And they ain't cheap. I have the smallrig cage combo for my GH6 which includes the cable clamp, and I've never liked it from day one. I found that it would put sideways pressure on the USC C cable and over time could damage the camera's USB C port. this could be costly, if I still used my GH6. Sadly the GH6 sits unloved as my G9m2 is my preferred weapon of choice now. Once you try Phased Detect Auto Focus you never want to go back to the old days of pulsing/hunting for focus. That was one very polished review. đ
Makes me sad to hear your GH6 is gathering dust. Itâs still such a great camera! But I get it. The G9II with its autofocus is fantastic, at least, from what Iâve seen. Still havenât had hands on with it. But for me, using a fair bit of manual lenses, the GH6 is my workhorse. I love the form factor, screen design and many more things that the G9ii doesnât have. The only thing I will say is that I would much rather have the G9iiâs DR boost implementation.
Very much considering other options. Idk what Iâve stripped but my current 2.5 screw on the smallrig wonât secure in place anymore. I think Iâve even replaced it once already
Mine kept spinning and not tightening. It broke too easily. I bought a second mamba cage and it still works but not a good solution. Iâm going to switch to neewer

Hello sebastian! Is there a cage/tophandle compatible with the lumix xlr adapters?
Hey man. Not specifically, but I believe smallrig makes a handle thatâs adjustable in height which should fit the xlr adapter underneath.
