  • How to install CR-Touch on Ender 3 v2 and CR-Touch REVIEW
    Here is my video on Cr-Touch! You will learn how to install and assemble CR-touch to creality ender 3 version 2. Also towards the end of my video I do review the results before and after using auto bed leveling. Check out the quick jumps down below to find your needs!
    If you have any questions comment down below and don't forget to subscribe to my channel! All the links you need are in this description as well.
    Sometimes I called it Bl-touch on the video :D my apologies it is CR-touch just to avoid confusion here :)
    ▬ Here are the steps in this video for fast jumps ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
    0:00 - Intro
    1:02 - STEP 0: Safety
    3:56 - STEP 1: Hardware Connection
    3:57 - STEP 2: Cable Rerouting
    7:17 - STEP 3: Circuit Wiring
    14:17 - STEP 4: Firmware Update
    21:30 - STEP 5: Z-offset Adjustment
    23:38 - STEP 6: Mesh Bed Leveling
    24:44 - STEP 7: Adding G29 on CURA
    28:13 - STEP 8: Review
    32:45 - BL-touch vs CR-touch discussion
    Here are warnings in this video to be careful about:
    Warning 1: 2:15 Screw sizes
    Warning 2: 11:39 Finding board version number
    Warning 3: 23:24 Z-offset value
    ▬ TROULESHOOTING▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
    1) After following the video, when you start the print, your extruder will start leveling with G29 command. After G29 command is completed it should start printing. However, if it is stalling at the rear right corner and not doing anything, it is time to change your SD card. That happened to me after couple months of publishing this video. I just changed my SD card and it started working again.
    2) Jiggly sound coming from CR-Touch. Seems like metal leg vibrates inside the CR touch as a result you might hear a jiggly sound during printing. Seems like that is okay, mine has been working like that for months now. No issues, it just jiggles. If you have solution to this let me know in the comments. I will make a video about the sound soon and share the link here.
    Let me know your problems and solutions, I will add them here to help others with common problems.

    Fantastic tutorial! I used this instead of the official directions, which I found a little lacking, especially in properly setting the Z-offset value.
    I don't think, though, that you have to modify the pre-G code in the slicer unless your bed is constantly going out of level. That takes additional time for EVERY print.
    Instead, I just use the console to do a bed level before each printing session, rather than hard-code it in each print. Saves time. You can always choose Level before doing a sensitive print.

    Thanks for posting this - I got a CR touch for Christmas but have only just installed it as the instructions from Creality are rubbish and I had visions of spending a whole day trying to figure it out. This was really simple to follow for a beginner but thorough enough that everything I needed was covered and I was running some test prints within a couple of hours!

Everything looked good except the CR Touch, it was blinking red. After installing the firmware mentioned in this video, the light turned purple as it should be and the auto homing worked great!!

    What a brilliant video and especially good because your not shouting and being 'cool and awesome' in every other word not forgetting calling us 'guys' all the time ;-) On a serious note though your efforts here and clear explanation is suited for all levels of expertise. My CR Touch is arriving tomorrow so your video will be my 'go to' for the installation, I have not had much luck with manual levelling on the E3 V2 and despite having 5 other printers this machine has not been so easy to set up when in fact I was hoping it would have been the easiest. The web site for the firmware downloads seems to have changed from what I see here in the UK and would have thought it would be the same as that in the US. All aspects of your video were pertinent to the subject explained clearly in a manner we can all understand, what also was good was you did not deviate nor did you introduce any 'fluffiness' just plain facts . Well done and thank you. I have subscribed without hesitation. PS So nice to see clean hands and nails in close ups ;-)

    Very good instructional video for beginners (like me) The only change i would make on this guide is on Circuit Rerouting at 10:12 i passed the cable with other black sleeved cables from the back 9:23 (and pass it from the hook holding them from underneath the motherboard case) and only remove the screws from front panel to remove the z-stopper and only that cause if you pass the cable from this slot it will left hangin out like you can see on 13:22. Very nice job anyways!

    Thanx for this good video!!! really helpfull. I am new to 3d printing. got a ender 3 v2 for a month or 2 now. I have 1 question. when I did the z off set with a piece of paper I got to -0.98. When I did a new test the z offset is -1.10. Does that mean I have to do a level test and z-off set every time I want to do a print?

    What’s the point of the “Level” icon? After you add G29 it gets new settings for every print anyway. I also am getting a thin area just north of center every time. I’ve adjusted z offset many times but that “bald” area will not go away on the first layer.

Can I download and install the CR Touch Firmware from Creality with this current version and them download the E3V2-BLTouch-5x5-v4.2.2-v2.0.1.bin? Hi, your video is excellent, I followed it to the letter, but (with ender 3 v2 4.2.2 and sensor just purchased) I can't get mine to work the same way. When turned on, it moves the tip but then remains with the red LED on. When I perform auto levelling it does not move on the z axis and after some movement it moves almost to the center of the plate. I checked the connection to the motherboard well and it's ok. Do you have any other suggestions? Thank you Edoardo

    Thanks for the video, since I have watched it twice (once before and once during the install) I have also sub'd and liked.
    I wonder why you didn't feed the cable under with the black cables? It is much cleaner I think and where I put my cable. Just a question, not a criticism. Thanks for spending the time to make this video :)
    Also, may I ask why you did not set your z-offset while the nozzle and board were hot?
    Thanks again

    • @3DPDoctor
      @3DPDoctor  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you! Well, when you are recording and doing the job, it is hard to optimize everything haha. I make this video on one go, did not plan all the steps. Haha good for you to find a better location! Regarding z offset, yes heating and doing it is closer to real case scenario however it doesn’t change anything for me. My prints are still great. So I generally do cold leveling unless I start having issues 😂. Hot bed leveling is better, true, since it is closer to print case scenario

    Great tutorial. I wish I had known more about G-code going in. Apparently you need to have that semi colon at the end of the G29 addition, or it just stops the print and goes home. Hahaha! Well, now I know that. Other than my missing ; was a great tutorial. Thanks for the help!

      @@3DPDoctor I might have had some other issue holding me up. I restarted the printer, sliced the model several times, and each time it would do the 9 point touch, then go straight back home. As soon as I went back in and added the ; then sliced it again, it worked great. I'm fairly new, so it might have been something goofy, but all good now. 3D Benchy came out quite nice, Buddha cat was pretty good too.

    I'm having issues I followed your video and I'm on step 4 I've unplugged to removed the Z limit switch and have gotten the firmware to update but when I autohome it moves X and Y and will stop in the middle but does not autohome the Z axis. I tried moving the Z axis using the positioning on the settings

  • @broderp
    @broderp Před 2 lety +1

    If you are that close with manual leveling, couldn't you simply adjust the Z-height to compensate? The bigger issue for most IMO is consistency from area of the bed to another if its not perfectly flat.

  • @Perry-sz2lr

    Love the video and I followed it exactly to get my new CR touch all setup and running, worked really great. I am however slightly bothered by my CR touch not auto-homing in the dead center of the buildplate or how it seems to not travel as far in the X as it should. I noticed in the "info" screen after updating the firmware, that the bed size is listed as 220x220x250. Isn't the ender 3 v2 bed size actually 235x235x250? It seems to me that the firmware thinks the bed is a little smaller than it actually is. Have you encountered this problem and do you have a fix for it?

    • @3DPDoctor
      @3DPDoctor  Před 2 lety +1

      As far as I understand it is because of the clips around the bed. They dropped it so that nozzle dont go over them. But this is a guess.

    • @3DPDoctor
      @3DPDoctor  Před 2 lety

      I did not changed it. If you wana fix it you need to edit the firmware
