Not that people that get triggered when they see the word pride in the title are going to actually watch an hour long interview to find out, but I think someone like Kim Petras is a really good role model that can bridge a pretty large gap in the difference of opinion you see in society today. From my perspective, the purpose of something like pride month is to raise awareness of it being OK to be gay/trans/whatever, but when the media puts so much focus on it, so many people take offense to it because they feel like people are trying to shove "pride" down their throats. With Kim Petras, she's putting the focus on her music above all else. You can tell she wants to embrace the transgender angle to some degree as a role model, but doesn't want that to be something that gets focused on, and definitely doesn't want it to be something that defines her. You can tell that when they played that clip of all those people saying what pride month meant to them and they were going into really deep/political answers and then they asked the same question to her, she thought she had to come up with something similar and really didn't know what to say. But I don't think that's her lane, she doesn't have to be some big activist, she's doing more than anyone by just doing what she's doing. She's becoming a pop star that also happens to be transgender, not a transgender pop star.
