I agree with the Liverpool fan that it’s odd how much disrespect was given out from pundits towards Real during the 2 legs. You would have thought Man City were playing Bolton Wanderers the way the pundits were going on.

There was no "disrespect". Am not City fan. I am thrilled that they were knocked out.
However, anyone who watched the first game objectively (especially the sheer dominance of City) would have hugely favored them over RM. The sheer dominance of Man City made RM seem like Bolton.

Huge respect for the last caller, the Liverpool fan, really called out the arrogance of most English pundits and City fans of underestimating the opponent, no matter who it is. Lyon knocked them out, again bcoz they were arrogant and underestimating Lyon. It happens a lot. PL teams are scared of facing City, so they sit back and defend mostly, allowing City control. That makes them feel superior to others, similar to how PSG, Bayern, (Juve) are. I feel like even Frankfurt or some one, who would play fearlessly could also knockout City. City is a great team when under control, but that's bcoz others allow them that control. Take that control away, like what Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs do and they disintegrate.

A Real Madrid fan here. I’m hearing some common narratives that are pretty much false. #1) That Man City had vastly superior talent. Courtois is a top 3 keeper. Our strikers match up with any team. Modric, Casemiro, & Kroos match up against any midfield. Mendy & Carvajal, coming back from injury, are still pretty good. RM’s only weaker point is center back, Militao/Alaba aren’t at the level of Ramos/Varane, but still pretty good. Nacho is a proven backup. Madrid has many great players off the bench, namely Rodrygo & Camavinga. #2) The term “Galacticos” is thrown about a bit too loosely. Except for Bale & Hazard, the majority of this RM squad were well scouted and reasonably signed and then earning their good contracts over years of playing well. The fact is Real Madrid has not been carelessly tossing money around for some time. I love Real Madrid’s never say die attitude. Klopp & Liverpool are a great team, but I look for Real Madrid to win UCL #14 !!!

Personally people always go on about strength in depth has changed . Liverpool 2. - 0 down bring on Diaz for jota . Better player comes on and changes the game . Man City subs came on and we’re a lot worse than the players that come off . That’s what change for Man City . Man City 2-0 up leave it to the 90th minute and then make the changes to run the clock down .

I think this is what separates the real elite managers from the really good ones. Pep has always had really good teams and lots of money to build them. Carlo obviously has too but he has chosen to go with younger players. It is said pep tells the team how the game will go and allows hos team to have some ability to be naturally creative. This now seems like he has a team full of amazing players, obviously gives them good advice and trains them well, but when it really comes down to it, he has no tactics/ things to tell them when they really needs it. It's like at that point the team is on autopilot and if they win or lose its in God hands. Carlo on the other hand is a super tactical gensis who never loses his cool and has seen and done it all.

To win a war you need a purpose either is the love for your country ( your club ) or the will to follow someone else ideals .or beliefs ( a leader with a Cause ) thats human nature .. Man City dont have any of those . Man City has an humble history and no one actually follow the beliefs of Sheik Mansour ( Its just a guy with money ) who hires Guardiola that despite no one has doubts about his strategic qualities , on the end of the day is just a mercenary without a cause because all of his teams except Barcelona ( his and most of his players home ) lack on passion . And before anyone says " Guardiola is the best he won lot of premiers league and he won bundesliga " remember that on both places he could count with the richest country (Clubs) with the most talented army ( Players ) playing against weaker enemies who prefer a draw over a defeat in a league system ... When his opponents have nothing to lose and they either can "live or die" ( Knockout systems ) and they fight for the win Guardiolas teams lack on determination and purpose (Except Barcelona where no one was figting for him , but because there were lot of talented players from La Masia that were fighting for Barcelona and for Catalunya , club and region of their hearts ) thats why he cant be that much sucessfull in UCL knockout stages with other teams . Coaches like Sir Alex ( Who created a legacy ) , Mourinho that lot of "real legends " say they would kill for him and he made miracles with Porto and Inter , Klopp who made miracles with Dortmund and now with Liverpool with less than half of the investment of Man City , this are the kind of leaders it worth fighting for .... I know is useless to try to change anyones mind , because people who dont agree with me will not change opinion for sure. But this is the reality ... Money of Mansour dont make him a good Leader , tactical knowledge of Guardiola dont make him a good leader either, and right now i dont see Mansour having the courage and leadership skills to take the risk of changing a Coach that at least is giving him domesntic Silverware , and i dont see Guardiola leaving because he is like a golddigger who only accept the easiest projects available ... So yes City will probably keep being on top of premier league and never on the Top of Europe or the world , until something change and someone with balls take the lead .

I think what the Liverpool fan was trying to say is that there is no belief, no togetherness, no "feel good factor" in Man City (be it the team, and the supporters). It felt stale and dead, like machine. Perhaps it is due to City's recent and fast track to success that the newer following of City fans don't know what it felt like to be in the ditch, being "bottom", being ridiculed. They are taking success and wins for granted, as god divine will.
Could be a bias from my side and looking from the outside as a Liverpool fan perspective though but this has been my observation. City does not have the buzz of Arsenal, Everton, Newcastle where the fans could have pulled the team out of the abyss. The Liverpool quadruple talks that has been going around is not because Liverpool fans think we will win it, but it is the beliefs that our team felt invincible and when the going gets tough, Liverpool fans know what to do. The 2nd leg Villareal game for example, during the second half I can always hear the Liverpool fans getting louder and louder. We are savouring the success we are having because we know what it felt during the bad years. Even if Liverpool dont get the quad, us fans will still be content because we have an amazing season. This is what money can't buy

@@abstraqtphilosophy7357 I remember the time Serie a was the best league in the world, then LaLiga. Now, it's the Premier League.
The Spanish have been very lucky in this knock out competition over the years and like England, far more lucky than they have been in things like, the World Cup.
This comp have never been about English teams but right now the odds would suggest English teams stand a far better chance of winning it than other nations, I don't understand where your xenophobic attitude is coming from? Perhaps you should take a look in the mirror and consider, maybe it's you who have the bias regarding this situation. 😉

Listening to the Liverpool fan saying City have no passion! Clearly he's demonstrated his team have "no passion" as they should have lost against Tottenham and only scraped a 1-1 draw through a massive deflection off a shot going wide! "No passion" to win the league only once in 30 years then, eh? Like the Chump's League is the be-all, end-all of the Scouse existence as it's their only excuse!
The logic of some fans is laughable!!

There is a level of shithousery that exists in Europe and specially in Spain that just doesnt exist in England. Year after year city naively prance into europe believing their skill will carry them through but they never try to manage the shithousery. City should have gone to Madrid with a 3 goal cushion to counter the home game advantage and when they controlled the game for 85 minutes they had to score. They cannot rely on a 1 goal cushion in any game. There is no point in controlling a game if you dont score goals. I am a Liverpool fan and we have learned the hard way how to deal with this level of shithousery and they will beat RM in Paris.

Why would City offer Pep a new deal? He can’t deliver the one trophy they want? Maybe they need to look elsewhere?
