- Is this Dad's last delivery for the "night"? He must have made the special effort to ensure the youngest gets fed. This rodent was a bit big for the little one to swallow but down the hatch it went.
Great Gray Owl Dad is an awesome hunter for this family. His 1st delivery was abpit 5pm Mountain yesterday and now this delivery at 11am today. You deserve your rest now, Dad.
Video recorded from explore.org Bird Cams | Great Gray Owl Nest -- goo.gl/gZlixe
This is the first time in my life that I have seen baby owls in a nest with their mummy and daddy. Thank you so much for sharing..
Glad to see the runt of this litter get fed, it appears that his/her siblings are well fed. Good video
Looks like the owl is choking...
@@rayharvey1330 as far as i know, bird nasal passages and their throats arent connected. therefore, the bird can still breathe while he swallows a whole rat

I learned something new today! How bout that!
I love how the smallest one got the rodent and the bigger ones didn’t take it from him. I also love how the mother is making sure he is not choking and is getting it down
The little owl looks food drunk by the end lol, his like i cant eat no more!
It literally looks like it refused to give up and swallowed it out of pride and then regretted it by the end. It was such a drawn out process and the chick looked so fed up with trying to swallow it that it became comedic lol
She's such a good mama... her gentle promptings. Thank you!!
It is so sweet how she looks after him!
Mama's are always good weather it is a human being are an animal are any thing mom's are good
She said either you eat that mouse or I let the others eat you.
and I loved the way they snuggled while he was gutsing down his meal , beautiful intelligent eyes on them
She/he's like "You got this?.. Well are you sure?.. I can help.. Okay.."
That baby owl will surely be sleeping for many hours!
Its really very encouraging to see the littlest "runt" of the litter get plenty of food for himself/herself. Theres nothing worse than seeing the bigger chicks get well fed while the smaller chicks barely get any scraps! I mean just look at them & how they've developed and grown. I mean the size difference is astounding really! Owls, both the mamas and the daddies, are excellent parents! Very impressive to say the least! Thank you for sharing your wonderful video!!!
The "runt" was the last one born and should end up being as big as its siblings when ready to fledge.
It is not a runt, eggs are not hatched the same day, usually there is gap of 2 days between each egg laid, so they don't all hatch at the same time, there can be difference of 10-12 days for the 1st hatching to the last, ergo size differences
@@gunnermuzzammil It is still the runt Karen.

I love being able to see any kind of bird, even on my phone. I moved from my parents house into an apartment after they both died, and had to leave the birds behind. There were pretty much what kept me going for 4 years after losing my entire family.
These owls are beautiful and I thank everyone on CZcams for posting these incredible videos. You must have the patience of Job and have to devote much of your time so that we can see! And to my fellow bird lovers, I love reading your comments. Not only are some of them funny, but I learn allot from you as well. 🐦💜
God be with you its so painful to lose the people we look but God will never live us sorry for your loss hope you're getting better now

Wow that little finally got it down with mom saying " keep going you can do it " !!!!
Looks like she kept checking to see if he was choking...
Amazing that the siblings didn't go after the rodent while the little one was chugging it down. It was a monumental struggle but he did it --
Of all the raptors I've watched (bald eagles, ospreys, peregrine falcons and owls), the owls and peregrine falcons do not display sibling rivalry. They may push a little or try to get closer to the parent, but they do not do the bonking (using beaks to peck at sibling).
Alguien que hable español???! Ese pobre animalito se a de haber muerto después de haberse tragado una rata el solito ,,,me imagino la verdad no creía que se tragaran algo así y menos siendo un polluelo
The rest of the owlets looks full and well fed.. that little one was hungry af..
Jusywho , thanks so much for sharing this with me today and I just shared with two other people ! " 🤗
@@elgoodcatracho1009 no se mueren he visto polluelos de águila también tragan al ratón entero
Lol such a determined little thing
What a caring Mom!! Nothing like the high strung storks that actually pick up smaller young ones and drop them over edge of nest while others watch...couldnt believe my eyes, . This Owl made sure the littlest got more than enough and other babies very polite while he ate. He could barely open his eyes once he finished. Cant believe it went down!! 5* parenting for sure!!!
Yes, You're correct! i see that videos too! Stork, eagles and other carnivorous birds are not same this Owl Families. There are no sibling rivalries. maybe sometimes the Owlets will fight for the foods from their parents mouths, but not to the point that they will bite or kick their weaker siblings out of the nest.
Lori , yep wasn’t that amazing how his siblings just let him eat it and mom was right there cheering him on! What a wonderful mom and she has some well behaved little ones! 💝🙋🏽
Oh, and dad was pretty great too, handling his Buisness? 😁😍
The Juda-type animals always tend to love their siblings, so there no rivalries in the tribe.
Yeah I saw that Stork Horror Movie , couldn't watch all of it just so awfull - not like these lovelies 💕
im sorry to tell u this but sometimes the “owlet” from the last clutch may eat their just hatched siblings from new clutch if the owlet is still living with the parents. I watched that video and my heart broke in pieces to see it. The father couldn’t find much food coz it was raining for 3 days and when he came back with food to give the mother, the adolescent owlet just snatched away the food from the mother and gulped it down and then when she knew she was still so hungry she just snatched one of the baby killed it in front of mom and flew away with it. It was really shocking. The mother chased her out the next time she came back tho! Good for her!
Damn that lil guy is gonna be full for many many hours now for sure! & mom owl surely did gr8 as well to nudge him into the right direction again and again hehe.
At 5:31 he got a little pat on the head from mama for eating it all! So cute!
That's a baby's wing, not the mama. But still cute.
Total motherly love
Its a male, not a female.
Is there a more loving and caring family? I don’t think so! 🤗🤗🤗
That is super cute! Love owls and their babies. What an amazing little foursome! Hard to believe the little one was able to get it down the hatch, and didn't choke. Will probably have a big burp after. Truly amazing to watch. Thanks Jusywho! Great video!
Dad has a big family to provide for.Must be a good year
Amazing parenting skills here - what an amazing Mum and Dad. Can't be easy feeding all those hungry mouths but they do it extremely well. So great to see this video. I was holding onto the edge of my seat hoping that mouse would go down eventually - and it did! So happy.
This baby bird giving me choking anxiety in 2019
At the end mummy’s expression was ‘unbelievable ‘
Какая заботливая ласковая мамаша крылышками как будто поглаживает своих птенцов. Слава богу вроде заглотил мышь а то я уже волновалась пока смотрела
My favorite video because this is when I knew "Lil Bit" would make it.
I can watch this for hours upon hours upon hours it's beautiful to look at thanks for the good coverage this was beautiful♥️🦉🦉
Wow, what an amazing video catch! Good to see everyone letting the littlest one get a nice big meal.
it's a mouse
Wow!I can't believe I ate the WHOLE thing!
Debbie Cavallaro ...you just told your age😄😄😄😄
[ in baby voice] yes you did, yes you did; you're a big boy now, now go to sleeeeep
This was so beautiful 😍 what a wonderful mom!! 💝 Thanks sooo much for sharing. 💜🙋🏽
Is a dad.
I love this family of owls. I wish there would have been a family here for 2018 hopefully 2019 will bring some new owl tenants.
😂😂. Lol
What a beautiful little family 💕. Watching this made my day a little better!!!
"C'mon, little Johnny!! You can do it!!!"

... slept right through to the next day
So amazing video! Thank you for sharing
Omg! Poor baby owl... (hopefully he doesn’t die🐀). Such an awesome video... thank you!!!
The little guy wants the whole thing!!🤣🤣🤣😂😂😆
Good to see the smallest n weakest get the best part. Mom was keenly keeping watchful eye to make sure others dont snatch it.
LOOK HOW GENTLE MOM IS WITH HER BABIES, AMAZING,
Finally, the runt shows everyone!
I love how Mamma spread her wings around them as Dad approached the nest. And appears that the little one may have been squeezed out for meals by the much larger siblings. So glad un petite got the whole thing this time. It squeezed it's way in this time.
just cute memory of little bit .. i miss these guys especially " Little bit " ... i love this video when he was really hungry couldn't keep up sibling started eating whole rodents and he pushed his head up under mommy to let her know he was really hungry and needed the next rodent .. he was so small the rodent nearly bigger than him. with mum's help and encouragement .. and hes hunger. he struggled and got it down.. this is the moment he for sure going to make it ...
now he's off on big adventure ... ' God speed little bit and your siblings ' ...
Guerra Creative , wonderfully said! 💝👍🏽🙋🏽
That little one is an absolute Angel 🙏💙💙🐣
"GET IN MY BELLY!"
You are lucky little man
"I can't believe I ate the whole thing!" "Wheres the Pepto?" I really didn't think he was going to get that whole thing down! And he was the smallest chick in the nest! LOL!
제일 작은 막내가 먹이 제대로 삼키지 못할까봐 내내 걱정하며 지켜보며 돌보는 올빼미 엄마 모습 진짜 감동!!!
Thanks Jusywho! That was amazing to see! Now, its been a year since your vid was uploaded, its fun to think about these little guys out in the forest doing their own owly things! I'm SO glad the little one got that meal (could have saved his little life with that mouse)! It was so cute, at the beginning, all the little guys are just sitting there, and then all of a sudden, this little guy, snakes his head out of the pile of feathers and yells, 'Mom! I'm hungry!'. Darling video, thanks again! 😊👏
Next time you’re presented with a jumbo sized burrito, and you’re thinking it might be a bit too much, just remember this little guy.
After stuffing himself with rodent the owlet gets bigger.
Simply Amazing. Nothing like Mother Nature. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I love these owls, i just want 2 get in there with babys n mama .so kool thank u guys 4 camera wk!
Reminds of the old commercial, "I can't believe I ate the whole thing!" It would be like me trying to swallow a fully grown beagle.
Божечки мои какие сладкие пустятки, настоящая семья❤️❤️❤️
Omg! Can't believe what I just saw!!!
@@jixie_93 ух ты, вы мне напомнили про мой комментарий, который я писала 4 года назад 😮
Lovely footage
I 💓 owls! Best video ever. Used to see them regularly but the town grew out this way too much. 😢 these fine videos are the next best thing.
Owls and owlettes are so cute!
One of THE most amazing videos on CZcams. It's like they all knew that it was Half-Pints turn to eat. . .and eat he did! Kudos to the mother for supervising the operation and a giant high-five to Half-Pint for somehow getting the rodent down the hatch. Truly a herculean feat, and far more impressive than Joey "Jaws" Chestnut in the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest.
From what I've observed the past 3-4 years watching owl and falcon chicks, they do not display sibling rivalry like I've observed from eagles, ospreys and great blue herons.
I love your videos .Thank yo for sharing.

I know Owls have that 'surprised' look, but the moment she knew he had it down, she looked straight at that camera and you just know it was the look of... OMG, did you see that? He totally just ate that whole thing!
He got the spirit!
That rodent was almost as big as the owllet can't believe he/she got that down. Going to have to sleep standing up for the first couple of hours. LOL
Owls make great parents
Owls are wonderful creatures!
Chee you whizz...gosh!
What a loving mama owl, she made sure the smallest one got the next meal right away before it was too late, she was checking all the time to make sure her baby didn't choke on it, pulled it out of the chick's mouth several times to make sure it had a good start, head first. She was watching attentively all the time, did not looked away while her smallest chick was trying to have a survival meal...5 star for her. What a wonderful mama owl 💖
Wow! With the bones and everything! That’s some outstanding digestive system right there.
Astral Prince Not all of it gets digested, as owls usually hawk up a pellet consisting of the hair and bones several hours later.
What an exhausting task that was for the owlet. Needed it though.
Looks like he bit off more than he could chew.. seemed like he couldnt breathe towards the end
Unbelievable - but a fact!
By the way, having completely swallowed the mouse's body, the nestling owl received the whole set of nutritional ingredients: proteins, fats, carbohydrates, mineral components and vitamins!
Miracles-that's all!
I had no idea that the youngest owlet could eat prey whole that HUGE, is this normal? I've been watching great horned owls nest for years and I have never seen them this young eat anything that huge, mom always ripped it up for them. this is AMAZING ♥
Runto my nigga mayne, shieeeet
@@wowthematrix3753 WTF?
Nothing short of astonishing! O_O
Incredible and amazing...
I can't believe that little guy got that big thing down. Wow! Talk about being hungry!
Man ... now the wee little one is rethinking the whole idea of swallowing a rodent whole. No air .. let alone the digestive troubles he is totally unaware at the moment ! 😁
Way to go little one!
Thanks for sharing❤❤
Very good video, thanks for uploading this good video
Beautiful ❤️❤️
Incredible!!! :-) So funny and loving !!! :-)
Good boy ! It's hard to believe they can swallow a large lump without chocking for air.
Beautiful
"I'm the runt of the litter; I've been shorted on food for a week! If I don't get this mouse down, I'm a GONER-. goddamn, I'm tired; this is hard work" Momma says, "You can do it, honey, *kiss kiss*....
Man, it's tough sledding trying to eat with all the brothers and sisters bouncing him around, lol.
yep how hard is this to eat meal ... we take it for granted sitting down at cafe eating steak ,chips and salad
What happens if the owls have a dead beat dad who never comes home?
Awesome footage.
Defecating Bones must be tough. 🦉
oMG- that one is going to need a nap!
¡Se lo empacó enterito! 😲👍
Props to the little one for a job very well done. It desperately needed that rodent. It grabbed it as if to say, this is mine, ALL MINE. Gave it all it had to swallow it whole to prevent it from stolen and mission was completed. Poor thing was so exhausted afterwards that it passed out. That's proof that that little one had the will and determination to survive. I bet it's thriving today.
l love Owls!!❤
You know, it wasn't until this morning when mom left the nest that I realized there was a half pint fourth owlet in the nest. Until then I thought there were only three. She kept half pint well-hidden, that's for sure.

I used to be scared of great gray owls, but, this made me love them! I still am afraid of the other ones tho

What a little badass

Now that's darn impressive. And the mom is really patiently teaching. Amazing that owl doesn't choke. Beautiful owlettes. Gosh stunning capture. I'm curious does only one feed at a time??? She has 4. Good job. Ty 4 sharing this. 👍
At this age, each is fed one at a time as Dad can only get a vole one at a time. When they were younger and could not swallow the whole vole, the mother would tear it into pieces for them. What is interesting about owls I have watched, these with Long Eared and Great Horn owls, the little ones do not fight for food. Whoever gets the prey from the parent eats it.
@@Jusywho hello. Oh wow. I was really fascinated with this footage. It was really touching to see. The mom really is awesome. Love to watch interaction with them. Beautiful birds. Tysm 🤗🎄🎉☃️
WOW!!! Just noticed, Mom stroke him with her wing after he got it all down. Even siblings seemed proud. Or perhaps that was a sibling wing. Makes a good story anyway 😉
Great video
