This was 2nd September 1986. This guy is nowadays a professor, teaching trumpet in Karlsruhe. During the 1970s, we were at the same high school and took part in some concerts. He with Telemann's trumpet concerto already, me playing recorder in the e-minor concerto for recorder, flute, strings and b.c. Was nice to hear and see from old times...
That’s awesome!
Vielen Dank. Pfarrer Hubert Tietzel-Grassall aus Thüringen.
The wonderful thing is to see how much Reinhold Friedrich has developed since 1986. He is truly one of a kind.
telemann's wonderful music and great trumpet and orquestra rendition 🎶🎶🎶
Stunning performance, full of musicality and expression... One of best recordings I've ever heard.
Stunning ❤
Same great playing as he does today - BUT - the hair is fabulous!
Meraviglioso, non ho altra definizione
Gyönyörűek a respozoriumok.
Grosser Leistung!
Eu amo um trompete
Old fashion 70's
Awesome playing just like Maurice Andre!! I play slef a B trumpet and have a piccolo and whis I can play just like this!! But unfortenaley not I must have lesson in it!
Che controllo!! 😮
You have to have massive confidence to pull off hair like that.
WOW and WOW!
Looks like he is using an older Selmer Paris Maurice Andre Pic like mine. Can anyone confirm?
Looks tiny.
Is that a piccolo trumpet he's playing? 🎺
Yes of course! But note this was originally written for the natural baroque trumpet, with no valves , no vent holes. Listen to this recording of the Adagio,

Then there are many recording of this piece with the baroque trumpet without valves but with vent holes ( makes intonation easier on certain notes). As an example listen to Alison Balson :

Vllt erinnerst Du Dich? Hast Dir damals leider an Deiner Hand ziemlich weh getan)
Top
I had no idea Gene Wilder was so good at trumpet.
This is high b flat piccolo, right?
IT is A piccolo leadpipe---easier in the key of D concert than Bb. IMO
So geht Musik .
I'm trying to find a piece by Telemann very similar to the first 1 minute and 20-odd seconds of this, but I believe it was longer, and it was a very sad piece.
The opening theme was used in an Italian song of the 1960s. Do you mean that, perhaps? If Yes, let me know and I will give you the further details.
It might be worth listening to other recordings of this piece... This performance seems to be a shade too fast, to my ear anyway
@@momeara7482 not the person you were responding to, but I'm interested 🙃What's the song?
@@Muzikman127 Fabrizio De André put some very beautiful words to the theme of the Adagio, in his 'La Canzona dell'amore perduto'

How far have we come. Here we see the trumpet player in an outfit and hair style mimicking barrock. Nowadays we see the trumpet the piece was intended to be played on used with the trumpeter in more casual garb. It is nice to compare this rendition to the one played by Guilliano Sommerhalder on Baroque trumpet.
Had no idea that Willy Wonka played trumpet.
Is he a 'reincarnation' of Maurice Andre? Jn
Why does this guy make me think of Gene Wilder?
Don’t be lazy - play it on a natural trumpet!!
Don't be stupid. Just listen
what to a shrill little trumpet played badly ignoring the composers intentions?
Kein Vergleich zu Maurice Andre, Hakan Hardenberg, Bude Herseth
