I purchased a Norinco SKK in Australia before they were banned. It didn't have the bayonet, came with 3x30-round mags and you could buy a 1400-round case for $120 AUD.

Everyone dogs on the SKS and its complete BS. With a little work, they can take metal or polymer mags. There goes the capacity advantage of modern guns. Nobody has full auto so there goes the volume of fire advantage. I'm not saying these are the ultimate gun or anything but they aren't wildly worse than a basic AK. The design was only a few years apart.

Also sine it was owned by one of the guys that worked at the shop i purchased from it has a UTG reciever end plate and has a modified dust cover that has four bolts on it to attach the scope mount and scope. I took that off. I gotta get a new dust cover. I actually forgot to ask the owner for any original parts he may have had? damit! Scope mount was added, if you look closely it might be a mid-90s commercial Norinco variant called an SKS-M with a reciever marked as such. They have 16 in barrel, cleaning rod, but no bayonet, many had thumbhole stock, some had monte carlo stocks, no stripper clip slot on BCG. Look at the model marking. Marketed as a sporter, often erroneously called paratrooper model.

If you are fanat of 7.62x39 then SKS is much better AK-47. It's better utilities potential of the round

@John Beige Im new to the SKS world. Is their an insert to take the metal magazines? I have the polymer ones with the weird arm to lock in the mag. Seems sloppy and would like something better.

@@mark-wn5ek it is a Russian design, not Vietnamese. You probably are one of those who think that the AK 47 stock is short because Vietnameses are small people.

Attach a sniping scope to it and a suppressor and it would become a good assassin's weapon.

I have a killed and sawed SKS of the 51st year I had to take it for 260 dollars. They sawed the bottom of the barrel down to the chamber and cut off the shutter mirror. Bitches even sawed a bayonet.

Most people’s skills don’t match what the rifle they’re using is capable of anyway so in my book if it goes bang and kills 👍👍
