Albania is rather mountaineous territory and as such the temperatures, climates and overall weather conditions can vary extremely during certain times of the year. At the coast during winter time it is placid like any other Mediterranean costline but up in the mountains it can be -10C and blizzards and the next day +5C and icy rain. Kinda like here in Helsinki Finland where I live.. In late july the car thermometer showed +31C at 2300 in the night as it was parked 50m from the sea.. Now it is -10C and the Baltic Sea is vaporing 0 Celsius steam as it is freezing up.. Kinda nippy I admit at the shoreline.. :D

Albanians did both SKS and AK

People talk about garand thumb but nobody ever talks about SKS finger in the stock trap door. That hurts so bad lol
Bush Did 411 My friend got her finger stuck in there and they had to take the buttplate off lol.
I've been bit by the trapdoor a few times. Now I use a wooden dowel rod to open it.
Why you use stripper clips. But the Yugo ones will slam every round when you single load
Tmp866 I'm talking about the butt trap door lol
@@gageallison1115 oh my bad but the bolt catch is shitty on these things also got my thumb jammed in the magazine many times
Albania is the only country in the Warsaw Pact (save Czechoslovakia, they completely made their own) to not have direct Soviet involvement in the manufacture of their SKS/AK. The Albanians partnered with the Chinese in the manufacture of their firearms.
So does this mean Albania sided with Chinese in Sino-Soviet standoff?

Eric vs Chad. Bring out the Yugo, Chinese, Albanian and Russian. 10 rounds each at 600 yards best out of 40 rounds.
You will have balkan war in coments in no time lol
😅😅 balkan war , that good
M59/66 pap is best YUGO/SERB
@@gudz1c6 the best variant I am aware of is the East German version. Very rare though
@@rvieira8057 Aye you are right, Yugo one is decent since Zastava had a good manufacturing, had does not have it anymore beware if you buy anything from Zastava. PEACE!
I've been a sks fan for 25 years and have never seen one of those before.
Same.
Now I must acquire one.
I just picked up an Albanian aks. Just waiting for some springs for it then can hit the range I can't wait.
Oh it also has what I assume is the past owners name scrolled on the stock and receiver
The bolt carrier is interchangeable. I have an Albanian carrier on my type 56
I have two from when they were $80. It's a handy rifle. My favorite SKS.
They were 80-100 $ back in the early and mid 90's,I served army in Macedonia, there were entire warehouses full with yugoslav SKS "secured" with single padlock :0)
Those were crazy times in the Balkans in Eastern Europe back in the 90's
@@ssdivizion for sure, got me an albanian sks for 220 euro in 2002, brand new.
Like Hemi cars in the 80s. Cheap, didn't run, nobody wanted em. I bought a bunch..

I got a Russian SKS, and i gatta say, even after 70 years it still shoots great.
I do have Albanian heritage and seeing this makes me happy.
Another great video! Keep up the great work, this channel was part of the reason I started my channel!
thank you for finally making this video i have been waiting for it
I have a 1968 Albanian. Weird sks indeed, and reliable.
David Barnhart there are full auto sks on albania too
I had yugoslav-SKS as my personal weapon when I served army in Macedonia back in 1997,I can tell you it's very reliable rifle(it is based on AK-47) and have the best bayonet system in its class!
No mate the sks was designed before the ak47. Its not based on that weapon system. But it is a fine rifle.
Sks was made first bud
Great Video. Keep up the great work and Merry Christmas.
Still the best channel on youtube. Consistency is ridiculous. Shout out Barry with the cut shells.
Cool, I am glad you made this video. I just aquired a SKS m. I also have a Yugo 59/66 with the flipup night sights. I have been kinda studying SKS various models the past few weeks. This, the North Korean, and the East German seam to be the "gotta find" collector guns. Very nice to see some casual shooting with it. Thanks and Merry Christmas to all of you.
@Mr. Morningstar I gave $300 + tax at my gs about 3 weeks ago. You probably made a good trade but I want a "jungle stock" one. Thanks for the comment. Merry Christmas.
Thanks, I was one of those guys asking what that was on the wall. The SKS is my favorite milsurp platform. I have a Tula, Yugo, and very nice type 56. Would love to add this to my collection.
Merry Christmas fella. Thanks for the non stop entertainment.
Pretty cool Sks, quite different. Good video. Merry Christmas!
Yes! I've been waiting for a video on the alby! I love mine, '69 production.
Great video, nice to see the albanian sks, I'm actually going to be trying to grab one on my next trip to albania
illegal bro
Good luck getting back through Europe with a firearm.
Guns aint legal in Europe
Merry Christmas Eve love your videos
Thanks Guys... I owned one for years. Finally let her go to finance my first AR. now I find out its highly collectible. That’s the way the cookie crumbles. Appreciate the information.
Great variant! Merry Xmas bros
I have just 2 rifles, my Albanian SkS 1968 and a M 92/30 1942...zero complaints.
Love these videos by Eric. You can watch one of his videos and not worry about missing any info he shares. Go to the toilet, answer the door/phone, boil the kettle, have a snooze, Eric will make sure he repeats what he says at least 4 times at descending levels of grammatic clarity.
I need more surplus Eric n Chad! keep em coming! =)
Good stuff
Merry Christmas chad and Eric!

I have two Russian SKS-45's and love shooting them too,.of course. This one looks interesting.
Thanks for this.
Ive always seen this gun on your wall during the gun gripes episode and i have always been waiting to see a video of it
I got one of those a while ago it's my favorite sks
Love my 1983 made Zatava SKS... with using granade launch mode, she has EXTRA range since all power is going to the round.
Merry Christmas. Geets from Lithuania!
Marry Christmas to You guys and your families love the channel
Merry Christmas guys.
Never seen that variant before thanks!
Guys....There is also another Albanian version of the SKS carabine...the one which uses a 20round magazine, or 30
My favorite rifle variant, the SKS, probably because a Type 56 was my first centerfire rifle. For the whopping price of $90. It was followed shortly by a Chinese "cowboy" or "paratrooper" carbine, short barreled SKS.
Tnx for the great vid
Love the channel.
It's "whereas" when contrasting two objects, not whereby...
Nobody cares..whereby,go back to bed buddy!
2 holes in the stock are for cleaning kit and the other for the gun oil , also for better accuracy shot it with open bayonet because it was zeroed with the bayonet open.
That extended handguard actually makes sense, the gas tube gets very hot after just 30 rounds.
Nice...Merry Christmas Eric and Chad. 🎄
Merry Christmas from Massachusetts
I prefer my Mini 30, but I do have to drag out my old "Skeezer" once in awhile...good video guys!
Finally seen it hanging on the wall during the gripe episodes and we finally get to see a video LOL thank you
Mines a 1977 yugo 59/66. Skss are great holiday shooters. Merry Christmas
Lol I thought it was the Alabama sks
I will watch these kids of videos all day long.
Great video.
New subscriber.
Thanks
Hey, I remember using one of those when I was a kid!!!
Just before you said it was definitely a weird looking variant i was thinking the exact same thing! iraqveteran8888 is reading our minds ahhhhh lol
Albania used to make a SKS with a 20 round mag
Even with 10 mag
The carcano of SKS's, still cool that you got your hands on one.
Thanks to this video I was able to identify one of these at my local gun show today and I'm like you rare and strange looking sparks my interest so I left with a Albanian sks and couldn't be more happy gonna go clean the cosmoline out of it and try it out toady
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO THE IV8888 crew.....
Early 1949 Russian SKS's used a blued spike (cruciform) bayonet as well.
It was made for High School Students Training, At age of 15 every one shot this rifle
good info
Mrgunsngear Channel i thumb up every single video you post Sir even before beginning to watch American Albanian here :) 🇺🇸 🦅 🇦🇱
For what it’s worth, I have dropped in my Yugo and Romanian trigger groups into my Albanian SKS. Took a little “persuading” but fit and worked. For those who have an Albanian and/or wondered!
Back around 2012-2013 SOG had these for pretty decent prices (I wanna say around 350 or so) and I'll always regret not grabbing one. Good luck finding one sub 500 now and expect to pay 700+ on gunbroker.
Interesting looking sks
One of those traps was for a cleaning kit, the other was for an oil bottle.
⛄🎅🎄Merry Christmas from England 🎄🎅⛄
Hope you guys have a awesome Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!
i had one, was disappointed it couldn't use some aftermarket parts because of the differences from other SKS variants
Long life Albania

Can u do a video on the cz 527 in 7.62x39? Keep up the good videos btw
I've seen that baby on the wall behind u guys on videos for a while now, and im glad u finally made a video on it!
And, to answer your question, they were also making Chinese contract AKs at that time. SKSs were given to border patrol agents, guards, and other non-frontline troops.
I luvs me my SKS's. Don't have an Alby, but I do collect them. The best being Russian, Yugos, Romanians, and the early Chinese ones.
Merry Christmas, guys!

All albanian guns: ASH78,ASH78 tipi 2,ASH78 tipi 3,ASH82,P84 poliçan,albanian M44,albanian Mosin nagat 91/30,albanian SKS,tipi 57,albanian DSHK thx me later
A great little combat carbine. Overshadowed by the Ak 👍
I have a 1967 produced gun there are some that have no production year just a serial number. They used different woods for the stocks mine has wood that looks similar to the teak wood on the Yugo SKS. The other trapdoor has a oil bottle in it which leaks everywhere so its best to empty it. Most of them were destroyed in the 1990's by the UN so its difficult to know how many guns were imported.
I remember when you could get a yugo sks w grenade adapter and rifle marksmanship record for under $100 or the whole crate of them w original crates for under $400 , I wish I would of bought 2 or 3 crates. 1992 indy 1500 gun show.
Is that your Georgia Christmas weather? LOL.. That Sks is a Unicorn! Cool piece of history...Ian at forgotten weapons has a bit more info about those too... Should try a video with a 'yugo'.. but* shut the gas off and tune your hand loads....cheers! Happy Holidays.
You definitely should try out the Albanian copies of the AK, would love to hear what changes and what not from the originals
Mostly slight dimensional changes. Otherwise, they were equal to the Type 56.
I saw that rifle hanging on your wall behind you in other videos.
In China SKS was made untill '80. I have one from "arsenal 26", made in 1980, and shortened ("paratrooperized") for US market.
Hello from South Carolina
The 1949 Russian SKS also had a blued cruciform bayonet.
Very different from my 1651 Tula I have had since 1994 or so. What holds your bolt back to hand load by the way?

Aren't Albanians albinos?
My Russian refurb bought quite some time ago, had a blade bayo blued as well...
Wile E. Coyote is using an improved version of the Acme bullet deflector.
Something I've always wondered about is your shooting range, what's the max range, and what are the target distances set at is it ft, yds or mtrs.
Good shooting!!
Albania produced SKS and Kalashnikov rifle as well in the US Gramsh factory i believe. ASh-82 (Automatiku Shqiptar- 1982) is one of the types of AK's made back then but i have never found videos on youtube of people shooting the albanian AK. Im prettu sure they stopped making SKS and started making AK in the early 80's, however after the Kosovo war, NATO or UN ordered the destriction of more than 50% of SKS and ASh rifles i think along with other Communist, Soviet, Chinese weapons. Thats why these rifles are probably more expensive now
Merry Christmas ya'll
