    Valley Canine has by far is the BEST tutorial for this particular e-collar. This company should pay you for this because the directions that come with this unit are not clear.

    OK BEST instructions EVER :) I can't thank you enough. I have a new dog. She kept running to the neighbor's livestock and totally on her own agenda. She's 8 months old and is now staying on our property. Thanks a million.

    Great job explaining. Maybe the best vocal instructions I’ve heard yet however, if only you would have given us a tutorial with a dog on how to set your dogs training level. That’s what I was searching for when I ran across your excellent video. Otherwise I’ll give you 9 out of 10 stars!

      Thanks for watching! I am happy the video was helpful for you. I have a list of future videos to record and will for sure add "how to find your dog's training level" to it.

    Excellent video. I started out with the Dogtra Arc and was thinking of upgrading because the one I have doesn’t have a lock or a boost and you have to use a toggle to do between the nick and constant.

    Thank you for explaining the e-collar. However, what I did find out to my surprise was if it is in M mode and set to tone and you keep hold it down for several seconds it does continuously shock

    This is an excellent video!! Wish I had seen yours first, but glad to see it now. I've been using this great collar on a Border Collie puppy that I ended up with when he was way too much dog for the intended owner to handle. (I've been breeding/training BC's for 50 years and training even longer than that, so know what I am doing.). He has been a tough dog to raise and the e-collar has been a true god-send! And he LOVES his collar!! When I get him out of his crate in the morning and he sees that I have his collar in hand, he comes running over to put his head right in. At 10 months now, he is turning out to be a very good dog. My question is this: when I got this pup, I ordered the E-300 collar. Finding out how wonderfully it worked, I recently was given a second one. I thought that I could use that on another dog with a few issues I would like to solve remotely. However, then I wondered if I could have both dogs out together (with the two remote units) and be able to correct just one at a time or would I have to get the two unit remote system in order NOT to correct the wrong dog? I'm afraid I may have made a mistake in getting this second E-300 since I still want to keep the one collar on the puppy when outside with them both. Hope you can answer this and that I have made it clear. Thanks.

    The serial number is located on a sticker on the side of the box, not the barcode numbers. It has the model number on top, S/N xxxxxx is on the bottom of the same sticker.

    For the price of the collar the Hypo Allergenic contacts should come standard then there will be no issues from the start.

      Thanks! For myself if i use the ecollar for 1-2hrs a day for a hike or walk and make sure to turn it off after it will last at least a week sometimes 2 weeks. It charges within 2hrs also with rapid charge.
      If you kept the collar on all day like 8 hrs for example while camping or something then turned it off at night the battery last about 3 days. If you use the night light function on the collar though it will only last about 2 full days of full day use plus night time nightlight while camping or being out alll day.
      The battery is very good considering it takes 2hrs to charge and last a really long time and is rechargeable. I also have a car charger so i can charge it when out on trips with my dog.
      Also if the battery starts to not hold charge say after 3-5 years of use of the collar you can replace the collar cheaply through ordering a new one.

    My educator e collar feels much different against my palm vs the soft underside portion of my forearm. So for me, my forearm is much more sensitive than my palm area. So level 20-25 on my forearm is slightly uncomfortable. So be careful with your puppies so they don't get fearful of this very useful training device.

      Have your dog loose in a room, not paying you any attention.Then, start at 1, move up levels 1 at a time, The dog may look for a fly when first persieving the collar sensation. I then threw treat. Repeat no less than 3 times, no more than 5. End that training session.

    Does this give the dog a shock?

    • @valorielewis2858
      @valorielewis2858 Před rokem +2

      at the higher settings sort of, it's more like a static shock than an electric shock. Low levels feels like a bug crawling on you. E collars are much safer than shock collars because they don't send eclectic shocks that can burn. most dogs are very responsive to level 4-7 but the mini educator goes up to 100 but that's extreme in 99% of cases.

    • @valorielewis2858
      @valorielewis2858 Před rokem +1

      also your dog's neck is much more sensitive than most places on your body's so just because you can't feel it doesn't mean your dog can't.
