Dude, You're from another planet, another era. Astounding things you do!! You're my hero in this world of so-called "toxic masculinity", AI, and pervasive technology.. May many blessings rain down upon you. Retired carpenter, age 73.

I'm not sure you are entirely acquainted with the term "toxic masculinity", but you are certainly not wrong here.
Toxic masculinity is perfectly, if somewhat extremely, examplified by people like Andrew Tate or Donald Trump.
Will, or at least his CZcams persona and content, is about as far removed from toxic masculinity as it is possible to be, which I would say is a strong contributing factor in making his content enjoyable.
Tthe traits and behaviours that characterise toxic masculinity are invariably obnoxious, so Will being the opposite - humble, mild mannered, reflexive and teaching and so on, makes him a thoroughly pleasant chap.

Wonderful knapping my friend. When I hear that crisp crack of a flake being removed it just sends something through me. I've been knapping for 30 years and I don't get to do as much as I'd like because of health reasons, I still love to knap when I can and watch someone else when I can. I love your technique's and your style. You my friend are truly a master at your craft. Keep knapping and having fun and telling awesome stories.

So glad I found your channel through watching TA Outdoors. I have been fascinated by the creation of stone age tools and weapons since I was a child but never thought to look on CZcams to find someone understanding the techniques and having the ability to create those artefacts as you do. Watching you is a fascinating experience that takes my imagination back to those ancient times and appreciating that those humans possessed as much intelligence and artistry as we do today.

I like these videos. Seeing this lost history recreated by will here, makes me wonder about prehistoric man. I dont think we can really grasp just how different the world was. If we could go back in time and even speak their language; we wouldnt be able to understand them at all. The way they must have understood the world, the values they had, the sense of humor they had, would all be completely alien to us. We all live on a point in the timeline where we have hundreds of years of modern science that give us a lens of enlightenment on every material and every action and process we see. The people that made these things didnt know that rock was made of minerals or that smelting copper from ore made green fire due to chemical makeups of the stone. They didnt even know that the earth was round and that the stars were stars. They had no idea that bacteria made you sick. Everything was trial and error and the cause of just about everything you can think of was a complete mystery. The world must have really felt like a magical place.

Watching you intuitively and skillfully develop that beautiful specimen of flint into a very capable blade and joining it to the bone handle, has been the highlight of my week! The sheath as well is beautiful! The handle looks to be very comfortable to hold and use. Who ever becomes the caretaker of this piece will be fortunate indeed, (along with the recipients of the other pieces in your raffle)! All of this is _very_ exciting and looking forward towards this! Also, I really like the mood of the intro and ending.

First comment ever. I was deeply interested in knapping as a teenager, made primitive bows, and loved crafting arrows. As in one of your comments, though I tried, I wasn't skilled or mature enough to understand the skill. Thank you for re-kindling an old passion of mind and for being such a legend! Thank you for inspiring us to remember the technology that got us here. Love all that you do. Your bloody skill is sublime.

I am deeply honored that a god level person of your level bothered to reply. Some of the odd bows I had had moderate success were mulberry and white oak. I even planted Osage orange some 30 year ago in the hopes to make a bow. The tree is doing well. Folks thought my interest in primitive technology was bizarre. I can't say enough how much respect, and honor I reserve for you. Love to meet some day. Thank you so much for being unafraid to be that caveman.

Hi Will, just watched yet another excellent video on flint knapping, thank you. I was wondering if our ancestors were more interested in the flakes from the knapping than the dagger. I would imagine that the flakes would make great cutting tools and there were a lot more flakes than one dagger. Please don't be offended, the dagger is beautiful and I am not criticising it in anyway . It's just I that I wonder what it was like, all those years. Sincerely Barry.
