    President Tate needs to stay in his lane and let Woodward do what he does best. It’s about finding a coach who can win, not what they look like.

    This is exactly what I told my sister, it isn't the product on the field but off the field over the past years that led to this firing. It was pretty obvious, with what little whispers the public has been privy to, there's always more under the surface in any story. I was actually surprised they didn't fire him this past off-season

    Woodward made this a clean cut ordeal. I have no doubt if Alleva were still in charge he would’ve made a clusterf@&k out of this situation. Don’t give the opportunity for him to win a couple of games and try to rally people for his job.

    The AD doesn't answer to the president-he answers to the Board of Supervisors, which is one of the reasons Scott came to LSU. He will hire who he wants and will control the department. The president can make a recommendation, but the BOS are the ones who will have the final say.

    I agree with U on the score there was no viable option for an interim coach! I would hate to see scores of players hitting the transfer portal on account of this decision... Tate should stay the hell away from meddling in the search for a new coach!

    For all the people who thinks James Franklin wouldn’t leave Penn State for USC or LSU, you’re trippin’ big time. You’re looking at Penn State this year, and you’re asking why?? Don’t get caught up in the moment. You can REALLY compete for championships at USC && LSU while making more money. The talent available to you at either school is deeper and better. That’s why.

    If LSU wants the best of both worlds, hire someone based on race (which is a terrible precedent to create as that'll hang over the coach's and program's head) and talent as a coach, then why not Eric Bieniemy?

      Naw. Orgeron has lost focus. Chasing tail while the team is unprepared. Title IX issues and acting like an ass towards fans in public. He’s just not cut out to be the face of a program this size. He had his moment in 2019 but he doesn’t have what it takes to keep a program competitive year in and year out.

    It's really difficult for me to say this not only as a black man but also obviously as a die-hard Tiger fan. I'm born and raised in BR and I can not say that I enjoy the idea of race taking the top precedent over other more credentials relevant to football and recruiting for this hire.

      Agreed! However, somebody has to be the first and while I understand how a large portion of the fan base would use this as the reason to make it really difficult for the HC, remember that those little black girls that were the first to attend a white school had it worst.

    I could literally talk for hours about the subject of LSU never having a Black Head Coach. I will save that talk about bigotry, racism, and discrimination for another time.
    Let me simply say this, “not long ago the average HBCU had 3x the talent as these traditional non-colored powerhouses.” The non-colored Universities always understood that these men of color were not only talented but dominated the game. Admit it or not, that's when the science of oppression crossed over.
    The non-colored powerhouses recruited against the HBCU’s AND WON!! And now there is an issue with our Black Men being qualified to coach our Black sons?
    WHEN WILL PEOPLE OPEN THEIR EYEs?!

There are non colored professional coaches everywhere who didn't deserve the opportunity to interview let alone the job they have. Just think about it, how are all of these Black players able to play yet after they are done playing they can't coach?       @@MrMixItup Doesn't matter if there's more of one than the other. You dont force a coach into a job and put him above other ones simply based on the color of his skin. If its done in favor of whites then that is wrong. Doing the exact same thing in favor of blacks, is equally as wrong. Also just because someone is the same race as you doesn't make them "our sons", or "our" anything. We are all individuals and the color of our skin does NOT define who we are. You have a VERY narrow view of the world thats seen with race goggles on. Look at a person as an individual, not as a color. You dont have to feel obligated to support something or someone based on what race they are, and if you do, then you sir, are a flaming racist.

Saban had his paw prints all over Dylan Moses in the 8th grade. The best players in Louisiana will go to play for the best coach, done deal. There's your disadvantage. If DiNardo got 5 seasons to be mediocre, I think a homegrown Coach O with a national championship deserves more than 5 seasons.

Its not the record that got coach O fired and we can recruit just as good as good as anyone else. Bama may get one or two more 5 stars but the stars dont tell the whole story. Recruits go where they feel they fit in the most and have the best chance of success. Even kids that go to schools that havent won a natty in 30 years go there because they believe they can be successful there. A national championship doesnt guarantee going to the nfl

I've stated already the stability this fanbase craves is on the bench at Utah (Chris Curry) as well as putting up 360 yrds/gm at Nichols State (Lindsey Scott, Jr). Rely on these young QBs and your are bound to be disappointed. Brennan getting hurt set them back more than most thought. Be real with yourself, if LSU beats UCLA and Kentucky... we aren't even having this discussion

    I know you don't want to be "news breaker guy", but your reticence in spilling the beans on Ed & LSU's deteriorated relationship speaks to why media has lost trust with the public. You are intentionally keeping the public in the dark by withholding what you know.
    Right or wrong, to protect sources or not, to help the university you love save face, it doesn't matter. In the bluntest terms possible, you're lying to the audience.
