Yep same . I’ve done it 4 times . Now that I think on it ( my youngest is 5 ) I somehow in my brain think it was easy but I know it wasn’t . I remember with my 3rd just saying out loud oh god oh god oh god I can’t do this ! And they were like you can ! And hubby was like babe you got it grab my hand ! I puked all over the place . The only time I ever puked while in labor . Anyway ; our brains somehow try to forget that pain . But I do remember it hurts super bad . The contractions , and then once it’s time that’s the worst part but also the best

My first they messed up my epidural so I FELT EVERYTHING. Crowning felt like when you lowered your pelvis A ROCK was just sitting there while your little ones starting to be forced out of ya. I was all over that bed, and even had my bf in a headlock. That place was hell and the midwives this one in particular was the worst. It was my first child I was a day before 42 weeks and I kept saying I couldn’t do it, I was begging for a c section which they said it couldn’t be done. I was tired exhausted and in pain while this midwife proceeded to yell at me and make me feel like crap. However my son came out head with his middle finger sticking right up at her when he came into this world 😊.

I was around during my sister in law’s pregnancy. My eldest brothers wife dislocated my fingers. I’m a woodworker and swordsman. Those pains are no joke

For a lot of guys who are getting a bit defensive about women saying they absolutely want their partner to experience this with them and they saying, "Why would you wish that on me if you love me?" It's less malicious than you think. It's less wanting you to feel pain and more wanting you to know what it takes to have to carry and then birth new life in the world.
There are a lot of guys out there that think it's not so bad or they think it's an over reaction. Then you have the margin of guys who get a lot of women pregnant and don't seem to really be concerned with protection. For a lot of these guys, just 2 minutes would be enough to leave an impression and likely develop sympathy.
For the rest of you wonderful men who look forward to being dads, it's more wanting you to understand what it takes and that you two are going to raise this child together. It's like going on a very scary journey with her even though you aren't pushing a baby out. Remember, some women die giving birth. It's terrifying and while it is enough that you have the dads cheering their wives on, I admit I feel there would be more understanding and support if you just felt it for just 2 minutes.
Honestly, just 2 minutes would be enough.
Bonus: If such technology exists, you would know right away if your spouse was unfaithful.

And they set it up as a booth in a mall and challenged men to see if they could withstand the pain. Most of them quit at about 50%

Oh my Papa used to tell this story. Young couple went to the hospital to have a baby and the lady is having a really hard time with the labor. So the doc tells the husband they got this brand new technology that will let the father takes some of the pain. So he says go ahead. He doesn't feel anything, so after a while he takes more of the pain, still doesn't feel anything, they crank it up all the way. Two days later when they get home from the hospital, they find the mailman dead on their porch.

Fun fact: sometimes in ancient times(can't exactly remember how far back) people would set up a rafter above the woman and the man would be up there with ropes attached to his 🥥 . The woman would pull on the ropes every time see felt a contraction so the man could feel the same pain.

There are women who have relatively easy labor and delivery. I hardly had any pain while delivering both of my kids. I did word search puzzles up until i had to push and i was cracking so many jokes i had the whole L&D unit cracking up. So just remember there's a chance you could have a relatively easy delivery.
Same with my DIL. She walked into the labor room laughing with Mt son. It was her 5th! Nurses didn't believe she was in labor. I said " y'all better hurry with that paper work"! 15 minutes later...#5

My wife had relatively easy deliveries. Just nitrous to take the edge off. The second was harder because he was in a bad position (and was 9lbs 6oz) but it still wasn't typical levels of bad.

I got an epidural fairly early in my labor with my daughter, water broke first and I wasn't dilating so did induction anyway. The epidural was great until transition. That was rough, but manageable. I feel so bad for women whose labor is so painful and chaotic.
