The first video in 4 months. RJ I am glad you are still arive. BIKE
JESUS has risen.
Are you Canadian?
@@tyroneshoelaces9742 No, eh.
+rjthebikeguy good to see you back again making videos 👍 cant wait to see the manitou fork rebuild video🙂 could u please do videos on rebuilding/fixing both of these bikes?
I'm a huge fan of gary fisher bikes especially the older ones as theyre not very common here in melbourne australia,as always love your work & i'm looking forward to your next video 😉🙂
The best part about this haul is the hope for more content!
As soon as i saw rj point out the manitou fork wasn't working i just knew there was a fork rebuild video sometime in near future 😉
Down tube cable stops $35 a pair. After 8 years of restoring bikes this week I sold all my tools. Made a pile of money fixing them. At my peak I could fully restore a vintage 10 speed including hubs, bottom bracket and headset...new chain and cables and housing tuned with tubes and tires and rust removed and polished with a new seat in 6 to 8 hours. Including evaporusted derailleurs. Pick them up at 6pm, list before going to bed and sell the next afternoon. Did this countless times. Thanks to RJ and about $250 worth of tools. Im peacing out. Thanks RJ...aka Bike Jesus.
someone call the cops. RJ made away like a bandit.
glad to see you posting. love your videos. I hope you are aware of how many people around the world you have helped. looking forward to what you do with what you found there!
Drop bars + stem + 10-speed shifters + Ultegra break calipers = 20$
Wow !
Thanks for all your videos RJ, I'm learning a lot from you
They must have been stolen, or more unlikely from a totaled crash?
Thanks RJ. Fred from R Community Bikes, the group that held the sale.Rochesterians are phenomenal in their support for our 501c(3). We thank them. our group is ALL VOLUNTEER.
Thanks Fred! You guys ROC!
The amount of amazing bikes and bike parts you're able to find at insanely cheap prices always blows my mind
RJ, you have to got have the most factual and largest library of how tos I have ever seen. I cant say thanks enough!
Good to see a new RJ video. Just wanted to give a big thanks. Finished a resto-mod on my 1984 Miyata 710 (Shimano 105 mechs, hubs & brakes). I used a bunch of advice and tools gathered from your vids. Couldn’t have done it without you. 🎉
The master returns ✌
The Marin its pure 90's style, need some flúo colour.
Buying bike "stuff" isn't always as exciting as buying a whole "new project" bike, but some great buys can be had, especially for someone in the prospects of habbing bicycles. I think you did great, all around... I don't see any lemons in the deal.
I'm just glad you still make videos it's so it is very cool cuz you make stuff sound like a self-planatory
I bought a Marin Pine Mountain new in 1992 and still have it. When released it had orange forks and an orange stem. I fitted mine with the original Rock Shox
Thank you
Nice to see RJ back in the saddle. Good stuff. ... I have one of those Suntour 3 pulley derailleurs on a Bushwacker. Guess the company was trying to get away from long cages. Have never used it ... the bike was bought for parts.
I’m so happy to see that you are still posting new videos! Thank you!
Dang dude, you scored! Nice finds!!
Impressive deals on the bikes and parts! I'll keep an eye on any garage sale type deals in my area. That box of cables - wow!
Those cables are a damn steal, the handlebars with the goodies are also a deal
literally was just watching your conversion videos and realized you hadn’t uploaded but your back yay :)
Regarding the Manitou forks...I recently restored a set. Once you get them all apart, you'll need hot water, a shotgun cleaning rod, and lots of rags to get all the melted elastomer goo out of there. All that will remain in the tubes is several steel washers and copious amounts of red gelatinous crud. Not a fun job. I put new elastomers in the tubes and the forks work fine, I just don't now if the cost and effort was worth it.
Any ideas why the elastomers turn to goo? I rebuilt my 20 year old Manitou Sx fork and the elastomers were still in decent shape. The only thing that had melted away was a small rod seal on the oil damper side. I bought a new one for $5 from my local hydraulic seal shop and she's back working as good as ever!
@@MorryB The forks I restored (Manitou 1...a first gen design...and twice as old as yours) had no oil in them by design. Maybe the elastomers were of a different material than yours and melted or rotted, I can't say.
Good to see you back first of all, You got a bargain, hope to see some videos from you, Have a great summer.
Glad you are back again! I like this kind of content and would like to see more!
Greetings from Germany
That box of cables was a steal.
People in my area would try to sell that Gary fisher for $120 so consider yourself lucky to get the scores you do. Looking forward to the manitou and fisher rebuild videos.
Looking forward to the Manitou fork rebuild video!
Can't wait for the vids!!
Wow great deal waiting for the rebuild 🤟😎👍
As a guy whom builds motorized bikes this is my favorite guy to go to when I don't know sheet!
Bargain! The Gary Fisher should clean up easy if your careful, the Manitou fork is serviceable but the Suntour triple jockey wheel derailleur looks like something spectacular.
Can't wait to see the rebuild video!
The 3 pulley derailleur is certainly interesting. You did great for $155.
Wow! The ultegra shifter bar combo for 20.. this is amazing...
Shifting cables is a real real deal.
I had that 3 pulley derailleur. It came on my 1984 Norco Sasquatch. Friction shifting. the theory behind it was to minimize chain bounce, I think.
Nice to see you again Mr RJ.
EVERYTHING you bought was a great deal! Nice
The triple-pulley derailleur looks cool, it's a SunTour XC mountain bike derailleur, Disraeli Gears has a little bit of info about it on his site.
Nice to see you gathering new inspiration! Looking forward to those vids🙏😀
Really nice garden and reeboks too!
Some good finds there. Can't go wrong with those cables, excellent find 👍
That 3 wheel suntour rear derailleur... First saw it on a bike up at Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite, where one of the people in the "Rescue volunteers camp" had his bike sitting up against the tree. The bike was ancient, maybe 70's? I can send you a photo of the bike if you like. I though it was pretty cool, but I think it is a case of a solution in search of a question, kinda like the crank freewheel design. Cheers!
Great finds !
Those cables were definitely the real deal.
Nice to see you back rj
Glad to see you're still around, it seems like it's been a while since the last one.
Good to see you again!
Some good finds there , I'd love to see a video of that 3wheel derailer , pretty interesting and I've not seen one before either
Glad RJ is back! Score on the haul today, good luck removing the tweaker paint job on that GF....
I've done worse. At least for the frame. czcams.com/video/FuECqkK1nnk/video.html
Keep it cominn!!
I love these parts find videos. There's a Disraeli Gears page about that 3 pulley derailleur. It looks so insane in a good way. I would definitely rock this kit on my 1985 Rockhopper. It originally had a Mountech but a previous owner replaced it with Altus M310.
Wow, I wish we had sales like this in my area of Texas. Great buys. I bet the Gary Fisher cleans up nice ✌
Wow! Great Score.Congratulations .
I had that very same model Pine Martin and its a $1000 bike minus the Manitou forks, and you only paid $40 for it?! Holy $#!+. I'd bite your hand off for it. Gorgeous bike.
That's awesome buy 😀👍🏽👍🏻
RJ i Love your vid's pls make more keep it up
Very cool !
Great scores !
Super great deals I wish they did sales like this where I live.
Really good finds. With we had a coop here
same
Best deals are the stem, bars plus ultegra levers with brakes and the stainless steels cables. If it was me i would have only bought that
The Marin is cool and worth it for you because of the forks and the fact that you can make a video about it.
Good finds.
wow a whole box of giant brand brake cables for only 20 bucks, thats crazy!!
Looks like a bargain to me. Looking forward to the future videos involving these bikes and parts!
I would love to see that Marin restored.
more cheap gems as always, manitou fork will be interesting to see
Great deals!
Great deal!👍
It may seem like lot of money to someone that don't know much about bikes and the branding. you found great deals on all of that. I'm looking forward to see new videos from you 👊
Living the dream!
Great deals
Good finds. Our local co op has garage sales on occasion, which I take advantage of.
Cool deals! ♡
You hit the jackpot sir.. loving the new videos you'll be posting soon. But the parts.. here on Ontario Canada.. just the parts alone are now costing an arm and a leg.. looking forward for your new videos.
wonderful finds to save from the landfill.
NICE! I'm jealous LOL. I bought 2 boxes of mid-level MTB parts at a moving sale a couple of years ago for $10. There was a lot of good stuff worth way more than $10 but in the bottom of one box was a 1st year Shimano CRANE RD in mint condition! What the heck it was doing in a box of mid-level MTB arts I have no clue but it made my day, week and month!
Ultegra set for 20$ is diamond)
The whole purchase list sounds more like you committed robbery, prices are great
That would be very good bargains even here in Croatia!
I’m jealous, you got a stellar deal on that stuff. Please make a video on rebuilding that fork , I have a manitou minute comp air 120 and want to rebuild it.
Nice haul, enjoy watching videos, question 4 you pick up Haro 8.2 left side crank threads messed up...can l chase them out, from opposite side?
Great deals all-round! That Gary Fisher looks like it could be a nice beginner trials bike or jump bike or similar; too bad about the paint mess on there but still a good deal!
A new video, yay.
what a steal of a deal! im jealous
Did you get my message about using a vice to take a part a frozen BB? The BB turns on both sides in the direction of forward moving wheel. It works pretty well. I used the bike and a long long pipe as leverage.
Great finds
I missed the New Paltz bike swap last weekend, as I though it was this weekend. I bet I missed out of some Good stuff. Know of any bike swaps in the NY, Mass., Conn. area coming up?
WOuld be nice to see you rebuild that elastomer front fork, as I happen to have one here that also needs rebuilding :) A bought a one meter string of rubber for E10,-, that I plan to cut to size. A set of ready to go elastomers is way too expensive over here.
The Marin looks tidy hope the shock rebuild goes well .
What a great deals !! Please give me more :))
You scored a bunch of good deals at the co-op garage sale.
I own a Red Eldridge Grade of the same '92 MY.
I think you did quite well RJ.
WOW!!! I'm jealous the local bike co op near me wanted 100$ for Shimano 105 brifters! They never do deals or have anual sales AND they just raised there prices!
Wow you always find such awesome buys. I thought I got a deal on a 1977 Schwinn Paramount P-15 for $900
WOW bargains galore
The Suntour 3 pulley rear derailleur was on early Nishiki’s. I encountered one at a barn find on a complete early 80’s Nishiki Bel-Air mixte. Was too rich for my budget but a nice curious piece of working history. I have pics of that bike.
That pine mountain was a steal, pine mountains was up on the Marin pecking order, wouldn’t have been a cheap bike new 👌
Yeah right
Very good deal nice brand bikes
I’m shocked that you do own a pair of shoes. Lol!
So used to see you in your garage with socks or bare feet. Lol!
Nice haul!
super video i like to watch bikes for how much i bought
I wish we had this kinda stuff in the uk. It’s always crazy expensive
You might get lucky with that original Manitou. The fact it moves and the seal area seems clean, there's strong chance the elastomers aren't melted goo inside.
