      Jesus i havent been that early for a right video. I have stock wagon with lights on front doora but would like to know if its possible to add them on rear doors aswell. I know mk7 hatchbacks have them on the rear doors.

      @@mrfixpl they do not. My 2018 GTI se, as well as my brother’s 2017 GTI se lack any lighting in the rear doors and foot wells. Same goes for a 2016 and 2018 golf R’s that I was looking at before getting my car

    @mr-fix 1:45 so, what happens when I try this with a Golf R door panel or with a GTE one since it’s blue, does it turn white or does it turn red … I know you don’t tend to respond but I really need you on this one please.

      is quite easy…as all you have to do is change polarity on it.

    Hi dude, Can I do similar application to 2013 A3 for 4 doors? There is no Bang and Olufsen in the vehicle. Will my door modules support or will bcm change?

    hi, sorry the door panel connector for the ambient lights there are 3 cables, positive and negative, do you know what function does the third one do?

      The separate circuit: handle griff illumination is one, LED strip is two.
      Negative is shared, two positive lines for two functions.

    when you wired to red….the oem led from handle it doesn’t go red ?????
    i can see the strip able to change red to white…. but the other 2 led from handle top and bottom they do not change to red ????

      Just the long trim LED strip is bi-color.

    Hi, I am planning to add door sill illumination on my 2017 Golf MK7 so that when I open the door they light up. I read that they are controlled by the front door controllers. My question is how can I run wires through the door connector for hooking them up to the door sill 12V supply. What connector type do VW use for the door connector?

    Hi mr-fix , don't if you can help me but here we go..I have the exact same van , with a cxxb 81kw 1.6tdi engine ..Don't know how the dashboard changed by it self but now I have allways a interval reminder (for the next oil change\inspection) when I turn the ignition on\off (and the infotainment has the same info showing on vehicle status), do you know how I can disable this ? I already tried a few options (on dashboard module) with OBDeleven but I wasn't able to disable the reminder

      Have you tried reseting it manually? Press and hold 0.0 button and turn the ignition on?

      @@mrfixpl yup . tried that more than once , tried recoding values too ..it doesnt matter if is on fixed or flexible service , the SRI is allways on (got 2 vids about this on my channel) what you think i should try next ? already checked the values for adaptations and longcoding from an older obd11 backup . Do you use obd11 or vcds?

      I use OBDeleven.
      OK, just to be sure I have to ask if you are not confusing Service Reminder with Oil Change reminder. Those are two separate countdowns with two separate reset procedures.

      @@mrfixpl Service Rimender Interval is just a way to call the reminder" (global) presented in my case , it is allways showing me the next service , doesnt matter if it is oil or inspection interval . On VCDS the SRI can reset both, the oil change and inspection

    I fitted ambient lighting to my door panels in my b7 passat, the little black power unit that powers the ambient lighting kept failing and it’s a pain to keep removing the door cards

    You don't have to cut in the door card for the exit warning lights.
    I've retrofitted them also for the front and rear, no cutting! Fits like OEM

      I bought LED lights for Passat B8 hoping that they will fit GOlf MK7 as well. But the power connector is at an 45 degree angle and collides with the door card.
      It's either cutting or buying different lights.

      I only had to extend the cables, those where short after installing it to the door control module and activating true vcds it's working.
      I didn't had to cut or scrape anything away from the door card

      yeah, I'm using different ones. Power connector is in different position, hitting the door card. P/N: 3GD 947 411

    I already retrofit door modules for folding mirrors and already bought with same door the door cards with ambient but I can’t make it works (mk7.5 zero strip coding ) I make the adaptation for on but nothing

      As far as I know there's a lot of adaptation channels that need to be checked (and changed if required) in BCM to make it fully work. For footwell lights I had to change about 30 different parameters to have background lighting etc...

    My USDM 2 door cards do not do this for my 2015 2 door car. :( They work when red, but not when the polarity is reversed.
    We do not get GTD here, so no cars in the USA come with 2 door white lights. I do not want red lights in my base model Golf.

    Hi my control module is a serie 3, end with 393. Where would you get power elsewhere in the door, what is my best option ? I just got 4 golf R door card and really want to install them ! Thanks awesome video !

      @@AlexAlex-es1fj I'm planning to power front illumination via front door modules. There are two types of door modules. If you check hardware number (you can do it via OBDeleven or VCDS) and it ends with 393/392, then it will not work. You need to have modules with HW# ending with 592/593.
      For the rear door I was planning to guide wires from front to back to have the rear ones powered and controlled by the front door modules. This would give me full control of the lights Not sure if I'm going to do it this way.

    hello, I have a mk7 7.5 with white ambient light. Can I make the change simply by reversing the cables or do you need anything else?

      If your door cards have the same hardware as mine, then you can just reverse cables.

      @@luiginapolitano4775 to be 100% sure you would have to remove door card, power the strip with 12V, then reverse cables and check what happens.

      Yeah, seen it also. Maybe one day I will get it for tests. Looks like it's MK7 trims with modules from Passat B8.

      MK7 came with single color illumination from the factory. But some BCMs can support multicolor installation.

      Hi! I bought used door cards. I believe it's faster (and maybe even cheaper) than replacing just the ambient light elements.

    Excellent video!! From this moment I follow you! I already have the ambient light system installed, Is it possible to change the white light spotlights to RGB? And control them by infoteinment as in passat B8?

      RGB uses different hardware than single color illumination. It was not available in Golf MK7 but it was in Passat B8. So if you have some manual skills you could retrofit it into MK7. This of course requires some coding and even BCM module swap in older MK7s. RIght now I'm staying with white ones.

    As for rear doors, I had thought of buying two used front door mounts,
    and use LEDStrip for the rear doors.
    Of course, a lot would be wasted, but 4 LEDs in the doors.
    but could not find anything about where it should put it 12v to so they seemed the same with them in front so my project went down

      It would be expensive, but possible. Get ambient RGB LEDs from Passat B8 and retrofit them into Golf MK7.
