I go to full sail!
Gross, that place has an awful reputation for a reason
I'm totally in love with the 14m2 base (10 core CPU, 16 core GPU, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD). I found the NEW base M2 pro for €200 more than the refurbished m1 pro (a bargain!). I was coming from an intel 2017, so I had to choose between m1 pro and m2 pro.
I was initially influenced by the various negative reviews, then i realized that which made no sense to me. The slower SSD compared to the previous model is not a tragedy, both because it is still very fast and responsive, and because the faster speed of the previous model would ONLY be noticed if you transferring a very huge amounts of data to an external SSD (or from an external SSD) that was faster than the internal SSD... which NEVER happens!
On the other hand, performances has definitely improved.
I did a final cut export test using m1 pro 14" 10 core and m2 14" 10 core. One hour and 36 minutes of video, 4K prores: masks and various effects applied. Export completed about 40 minutes with m1 pro (very good result) and 26 minutes with m2 pro (amazing result)!
Maybe even better render times.
For me nothing else is needed. The rest is just the bulls*t.
true.
I have the 16” M1 Max with 64GB RAM and 1TB of storage and it is WAY WAY WAY more overpowered for what I need now, but when I am using it for film/video production it is flawless. I love the laptop and I don’t see myself upgrading until AT LEAST the M5-M6
This is good to know. I am needing to upgrade for video animation and mixing software and my 2018 MBP isn't handling much anymore. I don't want to spend so much on an M2, so I'm no considering looking into something like you have and hope it lasts for a few years. Other commenters seem happy with an M1. Thanks!
and cost? about the price of a descent car?
This channel's demonisation of M2s is shocking. The M2 GPUs are amazing, showing over 50% gain in Blender compute with the M2 Pro 16/19 just behind the M1 Max 24/32 for way less money. Why don't those cost comparisons factor into MaxTech's articles?
This is rapidly becoming a disinformation channel.
Thank you very much for your comment about low power mod) Will it be so helpful if to use it with m2 max? Its is available on m2 pro and max only or on m1 max you can choose hight performance and low performance too?
I just got in a M1 Pro 16 inch 1TB for $1460. It was through eBay Refurbished and came in a sealed "Apple certified refurbished" box with a new battery and chassi. I can imagine paying $1200 more for a M2 Pro 🤯
I got the MacBook Pro 16” M2 about 3 weeks ago? I am having a problem with it reading my SD card brand is Sandisk anybody know how to fix this? I am pretty frustrated 😭
I got a refurbished 16" M1 MBP from Apple a few months ago. It looks new and even the battery is 100%. Apple refurb might be a little more money than Amazon refurb but you can't go wrong with Apple.
I would agree, Apple Refurbished is unsurpassed. I don't trust "Amazon renewed", given I've received so many warehouse items broken, damaged, hidden flaws, etc., despite saying like-new.
Plus you can get Apple Care if you buy from Apple.
In case if something goes wrong with your computer.
What gets missed by US reviewers like yourself is that internationally Apple hiked the price up about 15% on these and next to that the reduced price of an older model is an even bigger deal. Even after some places are putting in discounts they are still only at the full price that they used to be.
I upgraded from a 2018 MBP 15in to the 2023 MBP 14in … Its awesome! Got 2TB SSD , 64GB RAM; blazes through daily admin task and my hobbies like Logic Pro & Final Cut . I love how solid the laptop feels, and it’s quiet. Have yet to hear fans blaring out or laptop heating up 🙌🏽
I just bought a 14” MBP base model used and excited to see how much faster it is compared to my current setup that I’ve been using for the past 8 years or so (mid 2012 15” mbp i7). The fact that my current MBP has lasted me this long gives me hope that the M1 Pro equipped 14” will be the way to go for me for hopefully another 8 years or so of use!
Woah… im interested to hear an update. How much faster has it been?
@@ecadeia4988 I've been doing a lot of work in Lightroom lately and the differences are amazing. I can import/export photos way faster of course just in general from the updates to USB but also just how snappy everything is. I never get slow down even when I have a ton of tabs open in the background + still have Lightroom open but what I do notice is just sheer responsiveness without the fans spinning, the laptop getting super hot, and things starting to chug through. I have a back-catalog of a lot of photos from the past few years of COVID that I never really got through until now and a big blessing to me is the screen. Color rendering is on-point and calibrated right and it's nice and bright so if I'm working outside or near light, it's not a problem. The processor, the I/O ports, the NVME SSD speeds and DDR4 RAM all make a huuuuggeee difference and I have no regrets getting this for myself.
So for me, productivity-wise, it's been great where I can do the things I did before but even quicker is great. I'm typing on it right now and a huge thing for me is the feel of a keyboard and the Magic Keyboard is on point. I'm glad I waited to upgrade for myself because this model seems like the culmination of everything I love about my 2012 MBP and improving on it in a big way. The years in-between never really appealed to me both performance-wise as well as their look and feel.
Also, just to throw out there as it's been almost a month of use -- an external drive is a useful investment! I also use TotalXDR for max 1000 nit brightness if needed for the screen and AlDente for battery health. All very handy and though not necessary, make life on a new MBP nicer, whether you get M1/M2 Pro.
@@theblindsniperthanks for your review man, there is a deal right now and I’ll pull the plug. I have the mbp 2015 and it’s so slow to right now on light room it’s frustrating
Found and bought a like-new, refurbished base 14 M1 Pro last week for $1269! Lots of resellers include or, at least, offer their own warranty, too. The deals are out there!
hey , which application do you use for MAC fans status?
how are the speakers different in the M2s compared to the M1s?
Would I have any problems plugging in my Samsung phone into the mac? I'll just be transferring files
I'm looking for new laptop for software development and was considering MC Pro 14 M2 but heating issue and slow SSD is a no go for me. I started looking for M1 but it is hard to find one with the specs I need (512GM SSD, 24-32GM RAM, 8/10C) 14 inch. Seems will start looking for Windows laptop or wait for next year and see.
Hello! What can you recommend to buy now? I have a choice between MacBook Pro m1 10 core 1TB ssd and macboook m2 pro 10 core 512gb ssd. Tanks for your videos!
If I could buy refurbished Macs in Malaysia , I would definitely buy the M1Pro 14” MacBook refurbished.
But we do not have that option here.
Settled for the base variant of the MB Pro 14” M2Pro and I’m so pleased with its performance, portability and built quality.
Really a perfect blend between size, power, portability and quality.
I'm still happy with my M1 Pro MacBook Pro which I bought at launch. It's got more than enough CPU power for me and it just handles everything I do on a laptop. If I need more horsepower, then I can throw it on my Mac Studio which I'm also very happy with. An M2 for an upgrade is a non-starter for me as it's a minor update. The things that would get me interested are: more efficient CPUs (not more horsepower as I don't need it), a USB-A port and more power to the USB-C ports (devices charge at 500 MA off the USB-C ports and it would be nice if I can get something that charges faster. The USB-A port would be for a mouse dongle which I when away and I'm at a desk for a long time. I use an adapter right now but it would be nice to not have to use it.
Lots of efficiency improvements left to come on the software side too. M1 has power to spare.
I got the Apple refurbished M1 Pro 14” base model for $1385 from Apple. The machine is mind blowing. The new version isn’t that much of an improvement.
Agreed. I got the 16” with 16GB Ram and 1TB SSD.
If it were not for the screen size difference and the Mini LED screen, I would not have upgraded from my original M1 MBP.
Why, because the real world performance difference is not that much at all. My original M1 was mind blowing fast VS my higher end PC laptop.
The difference between M1 and M1 Pro is very little. And when I saw the real world difference between M1 Pro and M2 in several reviews, I knew it was not worth the cost to upgrade.
In fact I’m not sure I’ll upgrade anytime in the next 5 years.
@@VegasGuy1975 the 3nm M3 pro may be a big upgrade but I’ll wait for a resign if the MacBook Pro in 4-5 years

@MaxTech, Love your channel it is very informative! I need your help though please, I have just purchased the Macbook Pro M2 2023 14" 16GB 512Gb SSD as I am moving from Cubase to Logic Pro X, however as I am new to Mac I am looking for a dock in order to plug and use both my Samsung SJ55W 34" monitors with this new Macbook, I also have an NUC 11 Enthusiast (i7/32G/1TB/2060) this too has a Thunderbolt 4 port, all I want to do is be able to keep the monitors plugged in and just plug the dock in to what ever one I am using. I also want the dock to extend the monitors to display different screens and not the same on across both screens. I am in Australia and been looking at quite a few docks but the more I look the more confused I become hence this long message, is this something you could help me with please? It would be much appreciated. Regards Jon
Problem with Low Power Mode is it's noticeable that we're not getting Promotion, even if the Display settings claims its still on
ProMotion is on, just that the max is 60Hz; it still goes lower if needed.
Exactly. Never use it because of that. Need that smooooooothness.
16gb or 32gb of ram for video editing?
I think there was a lot of pent-up demand from people like me. I had a 2013 MBP and I was waiting until Apple released a worthwhile update. My M1 MBP Max is a fantastic machine which will last me another 10 years.
I bought the 14" M2 Pro for around 1710USD, a preloved with only 12 battery cycle count. Upgrading from my iMac 2012 and Macbook Pro 2014 I would say the best investment in this year!
Does any of you experience any memory leaks on your Macbooks? I’ve got an M1 Max 14-inch with 32GB Ram and 1 TB SSD. When I’m using Lightroom Classic, my memory use goes to around 25-28 of memory usage with no other apps opened. I seriously thinking about going back to Windows desktop/laptop due to this issue on Macbooks not having a way of fixing it
I'd say that's either a setting regarding memory usage in Lightroom Classic (under the "Performance" tab), but you probably checked that already, or if it's a bug, it's Adobe's fault, and you'll just have to report it to them, trusting that they will fix it soon.
@@anacond21 I checked that already, reinstaled the OS, gonna to the forums...😅 well, nothing work.
@@alexandru6581 You're right, memory leaks are hard to report as bugs, and also to fix... :( Perhaps if you report directly to Adobe (not the public forums), they will tell you to run some diagnostics so they can pin the error down.
Does anyone get apple care+ with the macbook 16inch
I decided on the M1 Pro ultimately. It is more than ample for electronic music production. The extra 20% performance isn't really necessary. What's valued more are silent fans and lower temperatures. For the money the M1 pro is the sweet spot.
Good review, I just ordered a 16" MBP M2 to replace my Mid'15 MBP and am looking forward to a bump in speed, improved display and compatibility with my other Apple products.
Here I am still with Mid’15 MBP. What are your impressions after using M2 and compared to your previous laptop?
Can some share the M1 Pro amazon link
My only option in ieder to use word\xl and power point is to pay subscription? For tears now i dont buy a Mac because i cant find a solution to that.
so the thing is I was upgrading from the base m1 air, and decided to go for the m2 pro because of future proofing for updates. you can an extra year with the m2, and that's one thing you haven't mentioned
I'm getting a 14 Inch M2 Pro new from Apple, but I'm tempted to return it to get a refurbished M1 Pro model from Amazon or eBay as pricing is better and an extra $500 in my pocket could go towards an external monitor or an external hard drive.
Edit: Didn't return it, only because it's so pretty. If I really want a better Mac, I'll just get one in the future. For now, I'll make do with slower storage, I'm going to be using an external SSD anyway.
I just bought the M2 14 inch yesterday on MacFinder for just £1705 including a discount code. Kind of worried about the poorer SSD performance but it was such a good deal I decided it was worth it.
SSD is slower than previous model, but is not "slow".
You won't notice any difference, unless you use external SSDs which are faster than the internal SSD
I’m in the market for a new MacBook and longevity is most key for me, as is the larger 16 screen size over the 14, but from all the comments and your videos I’m hearing the Pro M2 is necessarily the concern rather the base vs upgraded memory. M1 is sufficient enough for a standard consumer. As far as I’m aware the M1 only comes in a 14inch, but with the base model 16/512 - is that going to be enough to ensure longevity of the machine? The reason I’m so concerned is having been burned by buying a Macbook base model which ended up lasting max of like, 3/4 years in like 2011
If you have a m1 doesn’t make sense to upgrade.
You have m1 pro 16 inch version if you want bigger screen.
Are Apple Certified Refurbished Products really safe to use??
I was planning on getting a refurbished macbook pro m1

Question: Do I then use base model M2 in low power all the time?
I’m from Denmark and can’t find any refurbished M1’s with danish keyboard as they are not being sold in retailers anymore… 😢 Looking to get the base model M2 instead.
Usecase: 30+ chrome tabs all day and lots of zoom call. Want something that can run the entire day and not get hot and slow and gives and enjoyable user experience.

I wouldn't keep to much emphases on keyboards. Im from Sweden and while I have Swedish keyboard on my M1 Pro, I rather regret it. I use Swedish and USA setup in top menu bar as when I program I always use USA keyboard setup. My Magic Keyboard I bought USA setup and that works much better for programming and as well in Swedish language writing. The resell might be hard though, but the physical difference between danish and USA Is really small, 1 less key and bigger return key because of that - and of course its that key that is needed for quite common programming. I then have to use karabiner-elements to reprogram all functions on that missing key. Either way look at karabiner elements as it's great, free. U can change any key with that program, for instance I have caps lock set to right arrow which is useful when coding. So u don't have to get a danish keyboard, u can get a polish one, or whatever. U can always have multiple language setups on same keyboard.
That’s awesome that the market’s response was “do better” so I hope Apple chooses to not go for cheaper components and jack up the price from now on.
It did take them some NERVE considering they insisted on keeping the base RAM of M2 Air at 8GB. And then asking for a $200-400 premium to rectify the issue caused by their blatant cost-cutting maneuver. But, those bastards know they make a fabulous, quality product in most every other aspect... they still sucker me.
@@MarcosIsABaritone I hope the base model will be increaed to 12 or even 16gb of ram in the M3 generation. Or at least increase the storage. Worst case scenario, we won't get them until M4 (2026)
@@tanthokg 8GB as finite RAM can't really be improved upon, no matter the advancement of the SOC. 8GB RAM just isn't sufficient anymore, let alone be enough to ensure your Air maintains a consistent, unfettered performance for the next 4-5 years.

I am a longtime iPhone user since the iPhone 3 , I bought my first ever Mac , an Intel iMac late 2015 - which is no longer supported by Ventura. So it’s time to upgrade and I am probably going to be getting my first ever MacBook.
I have ummed and aaahed about the great value M1 MBA , the M2 MBA, the great value M1 Pro MBP and finally the M2 Pro MBP.
Ultimately decided I have to have the miniLED display , so it’s MBP. And the long battery life in low energy mode for the M2 Pro as stated in this MaxTech review has totally swung it for me !
By the way MaxTech , your reviews are compulsive viewing 👍

With 2nd hand macs, some are hammered and others have been bought by well-heeled people who have hardly ever used them, so they are nearly as good as new. If your in the right place at the right time you can get these machine for much less than refurbished prices. The 13mbp get a lot of stick from some people, but it seems to hold its value quite well. We will have to see how good the M3 is and the mac studio will drop to the £$1000 price point.

So leaving the M2 pro in low power mode, you get the full power of an M1 pro but way longer battery life, which means, less cycles, which means, the battery will last way longer...
But why, oh why, did they absolutely dupe people with a single SSD? 🤦♂
Also, 40% reduction in sales, year-by-year, I think we will be seeing a lot of M2's on sale. In this economy, even those who are loose with their money can't afford to just throw away money every year anymore.
You can’t use promotion in low power mode, so regardless of its efficiency, I turn it off when using it home, as I bought the 14” specifically for this feature

I finally purchased a 16" MBP M2 Pro 16GB/1TB after getting a deal. Once the 3nm M3 MBP comes out, it gives Apple every reason to increase prices even more. Mostly, I didn't want to wait another 9 months. I have the 2020 Razer Blade 15 Base model as well. I love the 4K OLED but I'll never buy another Razer Blade again. The fan noise is the HUGE problem.
Brother for how much did you get mbp ??
We tested out the Razors in the Razor Store last year and the kids loved them but, yeah, they are noisy. And it's a pretty big brick too.
I don't see a point in getting M3 even if performance is doubled. I have M1 Pro and it's way more powerful than I can use. Besides the looks display and features are almost the same.
@@ismailakram A lot of people bought the M1 Pro MacBook Pro 16 because they wanted a bigger screen and there were no other options. The 15 inch Air will probably satisfy those that want a bigger screen but don't need the horsepower of the M1 Pro or M1 Max. The bigger thing about newer models is faster single-core and better battery life.

Hey Max Tech, or really anyone who reads this: if a refurbished M2 Pro MBP is slightly cheaper than a refurbished M1 Pro MBP for the exact same specs, would you still recommend the M1 Pro over the M2 Pro?
For example: Apple’s refurbished store currently has a 10 core CPU/16 core GPU, 512 GB SSD, 16 GB RAM M2 Pro MBP for $1699, and the same specs in an M1 Pro MBP for $1769. Not too long ago the same price differential existed in the refurbished store for 1 TB versions as well.
I suppose another way to frame this questions is: if given the same specs for an M2 Pro vs M1 Pro, and they both cost virtually the same price, and let’s say they both had 1 TB of storage to put the SSD performances on the same playing field, which option would you go with and why?
😐
I had the M1 air. So M2 pro made sense for me. Also, most of the entry models with base ram and storage are the ones that are on sale mostly. The 32gb models through apple make it a goal saves of 400 dollars for me so it made more sense for me to get the new model. No regrets here.

I am watching from my 15 MBP from 2019 and thinking how awesome performance has come but I still have a work horse.
Not all software is making proper use of all cores. Capture One as an example is a turtle compared to Lightroom. It works but not as well as it could if C1 was written properly to use the hardware.
please can you get me a apple MacBook I need it for my studies
It is not the lack of tech in the new model, it is the fact that the M1 so over performed that there is no need to upgrade. People have had two years to buy this now and the M1 outclasses all Intel models in laptops. Why upgrade to the M2 unless you can benefit from that 12% performance? Apple really needs to target the gaming platforms to increase market share. I just purchased a gaming PC which is sealed off, games only and only a 3060 Ti but I am tired of Apple ignoring the market even though I own an M1 14"Pro. Apple is waiting for game designers to come to them, they need to go to the game designers.
They just need to support Vulkan api on Mac, and maybe Proton too like the Steam Deck, but they won't
Love my 16" M1 Pro (base)! However, the one thing that makes it inferior to the PC is games. If you're a non-gamer, that's not an issue. But for someone like me, who plays the odd game on the side, this is a huge deficit. For that reason, I just dropped some coin on the less-than-perfect-but-respectable Dell XPS 15" 9530 (with i9 and RTX 4070, FHD+). (Don't bother telling me there are so many other better Windows laptops out there right now. This is a corporate acquisition, which doesn't support gaming devices or some other workstations. I took what I could get and what I'm familiar with.) I would've preferred to give "my" money to Apple but their platform doesn't make that feasible at the moment. In other words, it's not just a performance issue when it comes to considering the latest and the greatest from Apple, even if, in house, the M1P/M wins this showdown, financially speaking and even performance-wise. There's so much out there that strongly suggests the M2P/M is not a significant upgrade if you're coming from the M1P/M, let alone if gaming is an issue. Go refurbished/open box or Windows (love the Lenovo Legion Pro Slim 7i), if you want a more rounded experience.

Exactly, Unless Apple decides to support Vulkan and be more open to gaming like on Windows, even steam decks, It doesn't matter what nanometer their chips are, They are already overkill for most things macs are used for.

yo i really like ur content and ive been a supporter since 150k subs and i love ur work, keep it up😁
I remember when they was trying to get 50k
Biggest question for me would be how the 2 devices the apple vs any windows machine perform after x months or years, since windows machines just get slower and slower after 15thousand windows updates... and basicly are terrible to work on at a certain moment. how does an apple perform after numerous updates?
And how does the battery perform after x year still?
Literally bought a base m2 pro 14inch yesterday. Upgraded from my m1 MBA. First, the speed difference is noticeable especially with promotion on the Mac. Now, I’m earning a masters in education and I’m a teacher so I don’t expect that I’ll utilize this mac’s full power. However, I do notice from the short time I’ve been using it that the work I do throw at (zoom call, lesson planning, research papers) it’s great. My m1 air was fast but it was starting to slow down on me a bit. Nonetheless, I’m happy with my decision
I am using a 14" base model, just amazing, it handles my High development tasks!
Base model 512gb?
Base model 512gb?
@@eunoiamoment yeah. 16gb/512gb, I use docker, Tensorflow and pytorch.
Hi, do you find the 512GB is really enough for your needs? I'm really confused whether to get the M1 Pro with 1TB Or the M2 version with only 512GB.from what I've read that I have to keep like 25% of my disk space empty which is like 128Gb so, you only left out with 384gb for everything and I'm not sure it will be enough@@muntakim.data.scientist
I guess i'll be getting the m2 pro just for longevity and battery (the low mode giving almost the same performance as the m1 on full is insane!). I'm on a budget but in the long term i may regret it if get the m1, I want it to last as much as possible!
Did you get apple care +

Would love to see a video on the benefit of having unified ram.
I hate that you have to max out your ram when you buy the machine instead of being able to update later saving on cost and prolonging the life of the machine.
Welcome to the greedy Apple world
Your getting better performance as the trade off with less ram
I agree partially. At the end, it is an added cost for commodity and a long term investment. Imagine (PC CASE) you buy 16gb and then eventually you upgrade to 32, and the you need more so you upgrade to 64. The time and money you spent doing that are equivalent more or less. I came to understand that apple charges a plus for everything because of how does it makes you "feel" too.
why u have to max out it for? unified memory don't act as ram, tests indicate that 16g unified is equivalent to way over 32 ddr4, and that memory swaps is incredibly fast on apple silicone too. Maxing out laptops is really just a waste of money. The only thing I opted for is 1 tb on my M1 Pro 16. It's just diminishing returns, if my computational needs needs can't be met by a 3k laptop, I don't know... A base model with 1 tb hard drive will hold its value better in resale too - as people needing 5-6k laptops will not buy used anyway, they will be leased or owned by companies. As a consumer u would be crazy to spend 2x the money on upgrades instead of just swapping laptops every other year... or buy a Mac mini and a MacBook. Or buy a half a pc workstation. Or invest 2k in software.
@@TheVikingquest I don't know anyone right now that has a Mac with a M series chip in it so I am always asking around. I wanted to know if you see any difference between the Intel Macs and the Apple silicon Macs. Since Apple has changed over… it's a bit more confusing what type of configuration to buy. It was also nice that you could add ram later… that is no longer an option. I had a better understanding how to buy a machine before this multi core CPU, GPU and Neural Engine has come along… I don't have the understanding yet how it affects the software such as the the Adobe Creative suite
Get m1 if you don’t make money off your laptop. Get m2 if your employer is footing the bill.
I was with you until you compared a samsung windows PC versus the macbook.. Im not sure in what way that would be the practical comparson for a 2400 system in the windows ecosystem.. a dell xps would outperform that samsung in every metric, give u a better gpu and cost less... and its not even the best you could do in that price point.. As for the m2 though, this did tell me i am probably good to stick with my 1 pro. I am excited to see what the m3 and beyond hold if they do move to 3nm!

I got an M2 Pro 14 inch for $1000 off Facebook marketplace!😁 It has been a great computer.
The real reason is the m1 pro and max macbooks are already so good, Most people want to keep them rather than upgrade every year. Nanometres are spoke about too much, After all the 4nm iphone 14 pro compared to the 5nm iphone 13 pro isn't that different for people to notice in the real world, the battery life is pretty much the same. I just don't think any extra performance is needed for the tasks Macs are usually used for
True, the whole 15% speed and 30% power consumption thing is just marketing and not many talk about diminishing returns. Also I think expecting an Q1/Q2 2024 M3 Pro/Max chip release is silly
You know that prices in Europe are higher for these laptops right ?!
There you guys go.
Stopped buying Apple machines as soon as they started soldering SSD‘s and RAM. Now using Linux on hardware that is repairable, extensible and modular.
Is there a Windows laptop with comparable specs in terms of display (120 Hz at least) and speakers? I want a laptop that is good for watching movies and where the fans aren‘t super annoying… Also please no OLED Panels, I don’t want any burn in over time.
My budget is pretty open (max. 4000 € I’d say) but even looking around for multiple hours didn’t really get me anything that seems to be good…
I have my own thoughts on Full Sail...
To be fair, keep in mind that $1400 is for refurbished from Amazon. I do not buy refurbished unless I get a one year warranty, which Apple refurbished does provide. Also, Bluetooth 5.3 is noticeably more reliable and faster than 5.0 in my Apple Watch S8 and iPhone 14 Pro, so on the MacBook Pro M2 series, in sure it will offer better performance than M1 Pro laptops.

Great to know that my M1 pro is still the loudest MBP every existed
SSD downgrade is really a dealbreaker for most people dont know what they were thinking 🧐
now that I got a m1 from work. I will say that, for general just cut edits en exporting basic edit. the m1 is great, once you start adding heavy effects, that's when you see why apple hasn't upgrade de m line to the Mac Pro. the truth is that the m chip, sucks at heavy effects, that's it
I don't need the latest macbook to write emails and surf the web. Or do I?
GET THE MB1 MAX PRO TRUST fully kitted. ssd and ram is the most important part to a mac.
You should do a test where you AirDrop big file between iPad M2 Pro to/fro MacBook Pro M2 as both support 160Mhz bandwidth and so connection speed is around 2400 Mbps. my Pixel 7 Pro and Xiaomi 13 Pro both connection speed is 2400 while S23 Ultra and iPhone 14 Pro connection speed is 1200. (best case scenario)
