Great tutorial on setting up dual screens, starting with your Apple laptop to any other screen. also explaining all the options you have, along with the proper adapters to complete it, along with how to operate it all. gentleman leaves nothing to chance. In my case a family member ruined her screen, (black screen) Set up the dual screen and was able to back up the data she needed by using the second screen before I dropped the unit off to be fixed. THANK YOU AGAIN

thank you, so helpful! I finally made the jump to a 27" monitor. plugged it in, and only saw my wallpaper! once I watched you, I tried to slide my email to the right and TADA! there it was! Now I understand the settings-display options if I want to change it! Also, I used a HDMI to USB-C to connect my Mac. didn't buy the white dongle. Hope it will work the same!

Great instruction. And, if you turn off the mirror, you can close the laptop and just use it with the monitor, keyboard and mouse as well.

I can't find a 2.0 to HDMI with additional USB so I can run my mouse and possible external keyboard down the line. Any ideas?? Much appreciated!

Awesome tutorial. I've been using macbook pros for 15 years and never had an external monitor, but I just finished a new home office and I'm working a lot from home now so I've been considering an external monitor. This just helped me make up my mind. Thx.
Be careful and not keep the power attached to the laptop for long lengths of time. We fried our battery on the $1300 MBP because we were closing the laptop and plugging it in for the monitor. Use the laptop as a laptop, keep the lid open and use the monitor, keyboard and mouse. Trust me. It's going to cost us $400 for the repair of the bulging battery. We had another MBP prior to this one where the battery died. We had no idea we were causing the issue because we were closing the lid and connecting the power.
