How many gallons of paint were used?
About 13
@@C_CEQUIPMENT I was a month too late I made the guess of 12 before going to the comments! Man I was close I paint at an autobody shop and have a general understanding of how much it takes but anything over a gallon is a BIG Job! Looks amazing guys keep it up!
7 Gallons
My guess is 9.5 gallons to make her look beeeutiful!😁
3, 5 gallon buckets of yeller paint. Mighty fine work painting and sandblasting too!
I'd like to see the size of the Nozzle you use and I have a pretty good idea of the size of the compressor. You have that Dozer cleaned up really nice! The largest sandblasting job I was ever involved in was an Aircraft Carrier back in the early 70s. U.S.S. INTREPID CVS 11. What a massive undertaking it was.
Dave Kersey Been watching this for some time now . I am 84 yrs old and was an equipment operator for PG&E Calif. Utility company for 28 yrs yrs . Prior to that was in the US Army for 10 years and am a Vietnam Vet. I would love to have the chance to run the equipment that you bring back to original. Keep the Videos coming. Thanks Dave
It's amazing how your crew can make a piece a equipment look production line fresh.
Thanks
cepting for the drive sprockets
Love that you breathed new life into this D8. Beautiful work everyone !
Mr. C knows his heavy equipment and does a great job putting the mechanical plan of attack together . Kevin is a good right hand man . Tucker is experiencing the opportunity of a lifetime working with his father . I love watching the patience and direction shown to Tucker as his father takes him under his wing to teach him the business . You can just see the happiness on Mr. C 's face as he works with his son by his side . Your a good Dad and parent my friend .
That old girl literally looks like a Caterpillar museum piece. You guys work hard, and care tremendously.
She looks brand new. Once again your team has performed above and beyond. Thanks very much for sharing.
Extremely impressed with how you breathe new life into these older pieces! Please keep the videos rolling for us to enjoy!!!
Kevin did an excellent job of painting this Cat. I Love it. I absolutely love the Idling sound. When throttle is increased the sound is like music to my ears. If the engine sound is indicative of power, then this cat can move the world. I loved this video Clint. Lets not forget Hunter, great welding Bud.
Great job guys! She looks brand new. I am amazed at the job Kevin does on his paint jobs. I bet he could make old cars and trucks look professional. Hunter did a fantastic job on the hood. You guys do good work. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing what those Twin Turbo Sausage Fingers can do. 🤣😂🤣
👍 Kevin great job👍
@@Fatamus 😂😂
That dozer is clean enough to eat your dinner off!
These old dozers were used in Army Combat Heavy Engineer Battalions. Most have extensive use building roads in Central America and fighting positions in combat training exercises. In my day, these dozers were less than ten years old and I was in my 20s. I have many memories and photos of these machines being used by my soldiers. Good job bringing these back to like new standards. Glad they will continue to build!
The old Girl looks like she just came off the Assembly line For sure..I figure Kevin Used 28 Gallons of paint. LOL..CAT Would be jealous of how good your team did..Great Video..
We had a guy in the Ravenscraig Steelworks in Wishaw UK, who drove a CAT D8 and ripper. His name was Jimmy Douglas and he could make that machine talk with the skills that he had. Love, health and respect from Scotland UK.
When you have a D8 Cat in this great of shape it will bring premium $. Everybody made a greatest contribution to make it look better than a new factory.😢
She's an absolute beauty, Clark. . .err, Clint. Between the maintenance that you all did, Tucker's weld job on the hood, and the fantastic paint job, she'll bring years of reliable work to her next owner, and look great doing it.
Well done C&C Equipment team!
Mr Kevin has done it again.. amazing finish..looks like it’s just come of the production line .. sounds sweet !!!
I ran the exact same machine in Louisiana with a cutting blade on it. It was the best machine. We cleared two thousand acres and it never missed a beat. Brought back great memories. Thanks so much
Big Dale
Tucker did a fantastic job with the welding! He's gonna make an excellent welder yet!!
Great video, as always!
Thank you !! Def proud of him! 😉
@@mrsclinton As well you should be! The world needs more young men like him!
He is a reflection of his parents so obviously you both have done an excellent job as parents also!
Congratulations!
@@georgehardee5470 thank you very much and thanks so much for watching 😉
Clinton….Kevin was as tall as you….he was standing on the frame while you were kneeling on the track!!! 😂😂 Great paint job Kevin, nice restoration!! Thanks for sharing!
Lol
Thanks
I live in Scarborough , UK. I worked on plant for a couple of years doing mainly site repairs on abused kit. Watching your vids brings back memories , good and bad . I really like you and your chaps work ethic, you have a happy shop, but most of all you are obviously very knowledgable. Cat engines are world renowned, only giving way to the Napier Deltic !!!! Excellent channel.
Regards Bob.
14 gallons
When I picture a Cat Dozer in my mind this is what I think of big and boxy with that big displacement low rpm torque monster engine chugging along
Awesome! Sausage Fingers did an excellent paint job.
Nice looking Cat, Kevin is the da Vinci of heavy equipment painters!!
Oh come on!!! Chrome stack for her, she deserves it
She's awful perty, purring like the kitten and those black plumes of smoke were awesome, thanks for sharing
Wow, such an amazing transformation. How to take one tired looking D8K, do a few maintenance jobs to it, then give it a sandblast and paint, add in a new custom made grille + decals, and make the old girl look like new again. A truly stunning piece of classic Cat iron gets to live again. And that colour which looks on video to be original Cat yellow, I think is 100% nicer than the modern mustard yellow colour they now use. I hope it went to a good home and is working hard and being looked after.
I think that beast came out beautiful but it’s a gorgeous piece of iron awesome work sausage fingers is a good painter to do.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
5 gal. Of paint on the D8K. Good videos C&C
Thanks
If it was green I may have considered buying it.. Ha ha. Marvelous job chaps.
2 years shy of 50 nice to see this dozer beautiful again Puer American muscle
Love watching the rebuilds of old iron
That undercarriage is amazing.. It must have mostly loafed around at the training center. At nearly 50 years of age, she has only a 'todlers' worth of work related wear.
The Caterpillar is now a BUTTERFLY really nice job all .
That is one beautiful piece of machinery. Kevin’s work is impeccable. Awesome company.
I wish I lived close by and that you built bumpers. I FINALLY started teardown on my 74 F100 shortbox 4x4 and I need bumpers!
Looks great.
6 gal BUD and BUB did really well
Looking at Kevins yellow floor reminded me of the 1970's paint shop in the haulage firm my father worked for. The painter was a gaunt, gray skinned person who painted all the fleet lorries and trailers, at that time there were about 300 vehicles, tippers, flat beds and artic's.
The floor and roof beams in his shed had a covering of abouy 1/2" solidified cellulose dust, and his only concession to personal safety was to tie an old rag round his mouth when spraying, if he remembered.
No wonder he was gray, although him smoking unfiltered woodbines wouldn't have helped.
I'll tell you what you guys really do some impressive work. That 8 is a work of beauty, Someone is going to get a real treasure when they buy that one.
Yep
It sold already
It's awesome how you guys take some old iron and make it look and run like new again. That D8K looks amazing. If I was in the market, I'd much rather have that machine than a new one, because it will still be going strong long after a new one falls to pieces. Great job fellas.
Thanks
@@C_CEQUIPMENT😂🎉
Tucker very good job on the welding The dozer turned out like new paint job 110 % 7.5 and 5 gal
Beautiful!!! As I knew it would be you guys always do a great job because you take the time to fix them right!!
She looks brand new. Cool series.
Beautiful job bet it never left the factory looking that good. Beautiful paint it'll look great sitting nerxt to your fireplace You guys out did yourself
Great job
looks ‘out the box’‼️
👊🔥
🪖
Great video. Fantastic job from everyone, from the decals to the paint job.
WOW!! Just Beautiful Kevin!! No wonder that beauty sold so fast.
Fantastic job by the whole C&C crew, that's a great looking machine. I love how Kevin's boots and the paint room had a yellow tinge 🙂. Keep the cool videos coming !!!
another masterpiece in restoration guys, by the way things are beginning to look, Tucker will be a better welder than his dad, a big 👍 to the young man.
Thanks!!! I agree - he did great!! Super proud. Thanks 😉
Wow guys great job they say you have to look past the paint when your buying equipment this time the paints going to sell it😊😊
I loved running that machine loud as hell but it sure can push I was eighteen and thought that I was on top of my game for sure! 12.5 gallons
I always left the throttle closed while I cranked the starter until i saw oil pressure then opened the throttle and it always fired right up. Especially with bigger Cats!
Amazing job bringing this Old Piece of Iron back to life!! Stay safe!!
I have no clue on paint anything lol but I’ll guess 2.5 gallon remember I can’t even paint with a rattle can worth a 💩 lol looks better than new I’d love to operate it thanks for sharing buddy
I counted at least 5 cans of paint but I’m sure it wasn’t all for this
Beautiful job of course your crew and you put the love back in the cat👍 8:00am NY 😎🇺🇸
I've got to say all the good work you put in to your machine's Kevin's work makes the biggest difference.but before you go off on one I no you all make it happen. great videos lad's keep them coming 👍 🇬🇧
5gal paint on the tractor and half a gal on Kev and the floor lol😂
Looks good Kevin I'd say 7 gallons
Another great refurb! You Guys are amazing at transforming these big beasts.
I imagine a good fork lift is one of your most important tools when dealing with those monsters.
That’s some awesome work gentleman actually bub couldn’t get any better from this side of the videos 👋👍🇨🇦
OUTSTANDING 🇺🇸 WICKED KOOL. !
That is a fabulous transformation from when you first brought it into your shop. The grill, the paint, and the bodywork on the hood all look great. You and your team did a fantastic job.
Thanks
It looks great, good-job Kevin-n-Tucker,😉👍, awesome video guys, and thanks for sharing.
awesome job Kevin and randy

Nice machine 👍🏻🇺🇸

Yes Kevin great job on the paint buddy? Clint awesome job
Think 4 gallons of paint. Good looking Cat now.
Tucker did a very good job in welding
An absolutely super job of refurbishing and servicing that machine. The cleaning and paint job on the machine is totally outstanding and I hope all concerned are really proud of your work and end results.
what a fantastic Job Kevin. nice work clint.
Love vintage caterpillar equipment!
Wow , Kevin is one heck of a painter . She looks amazing .
That 8 is AWESOME
One of your better if not best project rebuilds to date thing too good to use now belongs in a Cat museum guys. Absolute perfection Congrats.
Whaddaya bet Caterpillar calls and wants this machine for their "See what we USED to build?" Museum exhibit?
Looks like she is ready to go to work somewhere. Brings back memories. Thanks for the video.
STUNNING Mr Kevin............Love Your Work...
Thank you kindly
Its a great rebuild I wish you had bought that big Cat 983 Traxcavator for $10K at the auction you went to. Now that would be a good job, thanks for making these great videos, and Christmas wishes to you all from England.
8K's are my favorite CAT as it's one of the cats grandpa let me drive kinda lol back in the mid 70's in the woods of Oregon. RIP Grandpa(Russell Hassett) your missed and thought of daily. Love yay Oh yah Clint I love your videos and this one is no exception. thinkinh 10 gallons of yellow ;-)
Good to see you Fella’s
That old CAT looks and sounds beautiful! I wished I had the $$$ and a reason to buy it! Just freak’n cool! Loved the video guys!
Paint job and workmanship is first class, someone is going to get a great machine👍 thanks again for sharing.
That's a PROPER dozer.
5 gal paint look great
My guess 14gals…of yeller paint?😮
But what an awesome transformation.
I only wish I could afford to start an adult
Tonka Toy collection. 😎🇺🇸🏁
Love watching you teach the young boys.Do you always have that nice demeanor? Yr a very patient man Mr C
12 gallons of paint. Lol God bless
That's a thing of beauty! Good job Kevin!
Some customer is gonna be one seriously happy camper when he puts that monster blade to the dirt and realizes how much that Dozer can push and how reliable it is because right crew resurrected it.
you should gave tucker a few magnets to hold the metal in place to tack weld it & see if he knew how to set them up But he done good job !
Looks like it just came out of the factory. Nice work all. Thanks for the video.
Sweet 😎
Looks fantastic! 9 gallons of paint used.
Goodmorning and Afternoon and evening and good night all
Such a beautiful piece of iron brought back to its original glory. Too bad doctors can't do the same for us (she's 6 years younger than myself.) I wonder if LD18 is looking for another CAT for his growing collection. I bet this one could clear forests fast... Hell, that ripper alone looks almost as heavy as his D6.
A painter for a Cat dealer once told me it was 8 gallons for a D-8, 7 for a D-7, 6 for a D-6, etc.

It is nice to see natural clouds w/out all of the Chemtrails!
