It’s been a great 8 years since I started watching you Lou. These prediction videos keep my summer stable when craving some college football.
I agree with the Syracuse pick. It feel like a trap game for VT with it being right before the Clemson game. I think VT will be ranked going up there and it will be Fran Brown's signature win in his first season
These and YSIO are imo the 2 best types of videos you do. You can tell you do your research. Love these vids and makes the workday a little less tedious. Keep up the great work Lou.

You mention games we won and lost last season. You also mentioned before how Drones came in as the starter and the offense flipped a switch. We lost to Marshall and Purdue with Grant Wells as the starter. And the Rutgers game last season is where Drones came in for the first time after Grant Wells struggled and dug them out of a hole and almost came back and won that game. Drones then took over as the starter and lost to FSU, NC State, and Louisville. I think we cover Rutgers this year.
All in all it was good to hear an unbiased opinion on my Hokies. We are for sure riding the hype train here in Virginia. As a kid who came up in the 90s and was lucky enough to see Mike Vick on Saturdays in the maroon and orange, I remember how good my Hokies were and even in the years following Vick. For years we’ve had to endure what we thought was the passing of the torch from Frank Beamer to Justin Fuente only for Fuente being run out of town after failing to recruit for numerous of years to then being run out of Blacksburg for Brent Pry.
But it is good to hear a perspective that isn’t from a Hokie content creator. I found this after just typing “Virginia Tech Football” to just go back and watch all highlights from last games to pass the time, so excellent work. Subscribed 👍🏻
As a VT fan I appreciate your realistic viewpoints. Thank you for giving them 10 wins however I agree with you they aren't winning 10 games. Do I hope they do, of course. but I appreciate your perspective and I hope you are correct! Lets go!!!
Marshall and Rutgers losses were when Tech was still playing the offense designed around Grant Wells with Kyrone Drones. After the playbook was revamped for Drones, Tech's offense took off. If the offensive changes had taken place as soon as Wells got hurt... Tech could've (should've?) won 9 or 10 games last year. No cap.
@@Hokie94CPAfacts. Grants Wells was horrible and should’ve never started. That’s how we lost that QB to Tenn! For some reason these new coaches we have gotten shy away from young QBs on our roster.
Miami fan here. Against my Canes 50/50. VT could flat out win against us. I call losses against Clemson, GT, possibly Syracuse also.
Can see them dropping Cuse too and upsetting yall or Clemson. Maybe 1 fluke loss too which tends to happen. Drones is the x factor and our defense may be scary good if they can get better LB play
I think tech is gonna destroy Clemson this year.. night game in Blacksburg.. as Pry likes to say Va tech was Clemson before Clemson was Clemson.
GT will be a win, if it was on the road it could be a loss but Blacksburg will be rocking for that game

As an FSU fan, I'm not mad that we don't play them this year. We beat them pretty comfortably but they were competitive for a lot of it. I think they win 8-9, but your prediction might be on point.

Returning 22 starters and the entire staff. Improved in the portal with the DT's and middle backer. Also a key olineman in the portal. Ali Jennings is back. We'll see if they've fixed the weaknesses from last year early on when rutgers comes to town. They have a bunch of guys projected to be drafted and are physical. If VT beats rutgers and handles the early part of the season, I'll be optimistic about the bigger games later in the season.
Idk how they will do but where they have been good in the not completely distant past if they are hot and like win an ACC championship they are in a better place if the ACC collapses than they are right now.
Buddy when Miami is hot and it’s a meaningful game it is 100% hostile. If Miami beats Florida and both teams are undefeated I’d expect it to be pretty damn hostile. Go back and see VT and Miami in 2017 then the very next game ND. Kirk herbstreat said he’s been to a lot of great places and a lot of great games but he didn’t know if he had heard anything louder than that ND game. It’s a rarity but hard rock can be crazy that partial roof really keeps the crowd noise in. I was there for the ND game and it was insane
Rutgers is family weekend, Lane is going to be absolutely rocking and wanting revenge from last year

I was driving through and went to the Thursday night Syracuse vs Virginia Tech came last year on a whim. Had a great time, and VA Tech beat the ever living brakes off them. I know Syracuse got some nice transfers, but can’t see the result turning around that much. I would swap that L with Miami, add a loss to Clemson and have them at 9-3.
Lou does pretty good on these breakdowns. He’d make a good sidekick to Pat McAfee.

As a Hokie alum and fan, it's pretty hard to get too high on this team given our mediocrity for the past decade +. That said, I think an 8+ win is almost an expectation this year.

when you do texas please have gorgia beating us in the regular season. no way we can beat georgia in october and then do it again in december in an sec title game rematch which is going to happen🤘

That and UGA doesn’t appear to have any really challenging games before or after they play Texas (I guess an argument could be made for Florida the next week as it’s a rivalry, but let’s be real Florida’s not any good lol). Only advantage I give Texas is that it’s at home

Um... I have personally been in attendance for 4 VT victories over Clemson. It's been a while, but we have definitely beaten Clemson before.

Idk why but I see a loss to Stanford more than I do a loss to Syracuse. I'd agree IF the game was on the road. Traveling across country in back to back weeks is NOT easy. 2 very long road trips and I see them splitting Miami and Stanford.

I think thats a fair, accurate prediction, on paper tech should be much better now its just a matter of doin it on the field but i do think pry has them headed in the right direction.

This team reminds me of Florida state last year. 5-7 the year before finishing 13-1. VT has a strong home environment, returns almost everything, and semi favorable schedule, finished the season hot. 10-2 11-1 seems about right
Edit 10-3 season for fsu not the 5-7 the momentum came from the 10-3 season. I skipped over a year.
We didn't go directly from 5-7 to 13-1. We had a 10-3 year inbetween; that was our breakout year with Norvell. Jumped from bad to good to great in three years.

It happened when they played Florida State in the 00’ Sugar bowl as well, they just can’t ever seem to get over the hump in critical games.
