    Great video Jacob. Neo motors are much lighter than ferrite motors and have stronger motor force and in some applications can be up to 2 db louder than ferrite motors. They cost more because of what they are and building them is very dangerous which also is a reason for the cost being higher than ferrite motors. Some of the neo magnets have a pulling force of up to 500lbs. If you get two of those neo magnets to collide with each other from a distance, they will break and have shrapnel everywhere. Or you can also crush your fingers or hands between two colliding neo magnets and possibly have a serious injury. If they are square neo magnets and they attract each other, it's almost impossible to pull them apart without prying them and possibly smashing your fingers. The round neos are much easier to separate if they attract each other. I have helped build quite a few neo motor subs and they still scare me to this day! So far, so good. No injuries.

    Needs to double his amps bare minimum. Those are the elite series and handle 4500 rms. So with box rise those subs barely scratching thier potential. Maybe 2000 watts a piece when they hit 2 and 3 ohm playing music.
    I'd have a 9k running at 18 volt wired down to .5 ohm on a pair of DC elites.

    Neodymium magnets are lighter and stronger than ferrite magnets. They also allow for open motor structures which improve cooling etc. I'm still learning about them myself but I love my 2 neo 12s!

    Neodymium magnets are extremely powerful, so my guess is they're going to make the sub that much more capable of handling mass amounts compared to a standard double or triple stack. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm no expert, obviously.

    Neodymium N48H is a type of magnet that’s lighter and has more magnetic motor force supposedly. They weigh lighter than ferrite motors. For example The Sundown Audio NS4 is a neo 3” and the motor is 30 pounds lighter than The NS V3 ferrite version with 30% more motor force. Hope this helps

      Actualy dc audio uses N52 grade neos for the neo elites. N48 is for the standard neo. I just ordered 2 of the 15" neo elites and i made sure that i was getting the n52s. Gonna be running a md12k on each

    Hey man. So the neo is a lighter, stronger magnet. A normal magnet is a called a pharite magnet. This is also what is usually on a subwoofer. But there is a more expensive, but lighter and more powerful magnet. Which is called neodymium magnets. So basically they just make the subwoofer (or whatever it's used for) lighter, so you could have a lighter driver with the same force that is also smaller, or a driver with the same size which will have more force and be lighter then it's pharite counterpart. Anyways I'm not too good at explaining stuff but I hope I atleast helped some lol. Anyways, awesome video (as always) and I hope you have an awesome day man!

      Quick question if anyone can answer? I'm trying to build something and I have to 12 Sundown Audio and I have to 18 they are both the same RMS watts could I put the 12 subwoofers and the same box as the two 18s? So I have a total of 4 I was going to do something different with the Box and the port it would look pretty cool but not sure if I could throw them all together in the same box has anyone else done this?

      @willwiki76 Před 5 lety +1

      When Daniel had the Tahoe there was a lot more power in the system. My 2 9ks vs his 4 9ks both at 1ohms each amp. Also with the neos there is more box rise than ferrite subs. There was probably about 2k-4k watts total. Plus subs were not broke in being that it was its first time playing.

    • @willwiki76
      @willwiki76 Před 5 lety

      @@JustSub2Me also these neos dont need more airspace than the lvl5s that were in the box. They can actually use less airspace for cone control being that they have more motor force than DC audio's other subs

    Come on bro, you really do not know what the deal with neo motors are and you have a car audio channel?!?!? The neodymium magnets have many times greater force than traditional ferrite magnets and they're actually quite dangerous and difficult to build a guy can easily lose a finger trying to stack neo magnets to build a motor lol also a big benefit is weight reduction....
