- Last year on Buck Truck, we doubled in Nebraska on public land! Can we pull it off this year? We head up for some pre-rut bow hunting in the state of Nebraska attempting to find a way to get an arrow into these open field bucks that are eating alfalfa. The best way to do this seems to be hopping in a hay bale blind and blending in to the agriculture around us. What happens next is absolutely unreal!

I got a 139 inch 8 point a few years ago. He got a rear knee joint shot by someone else during rifle season and after that he went dormant. But Christmas day the wind chill dropped to -11 and he was the first one to head for the field

I've killed two really nice Blacktail three pointers with brow tines, eight pointers (eastern count). The first one weighed 164 pounds and the second one weighed 201 pounds. I had to cut the second one in half just to load him in my truck. Good thing I killed him close to the road. Who knows how many trips he might have taken to get out. Maybe 4 or 5?
My largest archery buck was also a Blacktail 4x4 with brow tines. 20x20 frame scoring 133 3/8 pope and young velvet class entry. I had second place in California Bowmen records for a short time. I knew instantly because the official measurer (South Cox) was the current second place holder at that time. Sorry South. Just a little.
