Lake Simcoe, 4km out !!! 02/12/24

- A quick video from Monday February 12th 2024. We started out of Brechin Point. First 2km was white pack ice 9-13” it changed with in a ft around the 4km mark went down to 5-3/4 to 6-1/2.

I been fishing on my fed trout pond. The fishing is really getting good and the fish are getting big. Sure beats the work involved in setting up on a lake. My tent stays out there set up ready to go only 200ft away. I’ve been out I think 14 times now and snagged over 50 fish my self not including what the people who join me catch. I mostly catch and release but the people that join me like to mostly keep. Bin an awesome year and we had a 6 year old on family day catch the biggest tiger trout this year.

Thanks for the report, looks like the pack ice has been hit down a lot which is good. Went out around that area 2 weekends ago and it was some pretty rough driving out there. Slush under the ice is so crazy, some holes I drilled just seemed like infinites amount of slush coming out, couldn't get my bait down there.
No problem !! we had the same problem seems 1.5-2km out the slush isn’t bad then from 2-4km out it gets worse the further out you go until the ice transition then it just disappears!
